I called and told them my bbq needed repair and they said clean but could do minor repairs. They did a good job cleaning but the cost for 2 hrs was outrageous and they DID not do any repairs. For $300 I would expect cleaning and repair. I could do my own cleaning but the repairs cost me another $100 but that guy was great!!. The owner would not offer any discount and said he did not promise any repair. I would not have hired them because my issue was the repair but was willing to pay for both. read more

Have appointment set for 8/27/21. Cost of service seems expensive ($300 for basic service) when compared to cost of grill purchased 5 years ago. But when I did a cost comparison of replacing grill, a new gas grill would cost $450 or more. Let's see how cleaning works out! I was very impressed with my experience with Desert BBQ Cleaning. Steve responded quickly via phone after I submitted a service request and gave me a full run down of the process and what it would, and more importantly, what it would NOT do. If your grill is beaten, abused, or exposed to the elements, do not expect it to be as good as new. If you want "clean as new" go BUY a new grill... I like that they use non-caustic cleaners and haul away all the mess, so right there I decided to give it a shot. I've detail cleaned my 9-year old Weber Genesis grill before and it was an all day project, but currently my health prohibited me from cleaning it on my own. I BBQ at a minimum 4 days a week, AND I use a smoker box, which creates a TON of soot. I last cleaned my grill probably 4 years ago, so that's at least 800 uses on anything you can cook on a grill. The top cover had so much black soot on it the whole thing was crusted over and peeling off, and would fall on food if I wasn't careful closing it. Nick came to the house promptly the morning of, with the cleaning rig seen on the website, and did an amazing job of cleaning both my grill and my neighbor's grill (we took advantage of the neighbor-too discount). Nick did a very nice job of cleaning up the mess, and was nice enough to explain the soaking process and how the hot parts-bath worked. The last time I saw my BBQ that clean was the day I took it out of the box and assembled it! After everything was cleaned and put back together, in less than 4 hours, another employee came and performed a function check of the grill to make sure it was working right and safe to use. I ran the grill at max output for around 10 minutes to burn off any residue inside just in case, but I never smelled any. I ended up grilling that evening and there was no weird smell or taste to dinner AT ALL. I only have an "after" shot of the clean grill, since I didn't have the presence of mind to take a "before," but it was nasty! Having a filthy grill is dangerous and makes it harder to cook due to the flare ups and grease fires that singe and burn meat, which makes it unhealthy to eat. Now that I know Desert BBQ is around, I won't ever have to worry about that again. Is it cheap? Well, not exactly... Don't expect to only have to pay someone $100 for 4 hours of hard work scrubbing, dip cleaning, polishing, and doing things you don't want to have to do; that isn't fair for what they're providing. However, it is WAY CHEAPER than getting a new grill. The price for what you're getting is reasonable, and honestly it's not like your health isn't worth it!!! read more

They did do a good job cleaning the grill - very expensive but clean. However, in doing so, they scratched the fron of the grill extensively. The worker gave me a story that the polishing brought it up. Eric was the one who cleaned our grill. We use it all the time and it's about 12 years old. I'm a detailed person (picky) and knowing the condition it was in he did a great job! Hired to clean built-in BBQ and storage space underneath. The 'tech' did a sloppy job on the storage space and the pull-out catch plate, and didn't touch the rotisserie skewer. There were small pieces of debris from the dirty grill on our patio tile that he didn't clean up. To their credit, the owner had someone come out a few days later to fix everything. They didn't charge me for the storage space cleaning and took a bit more off for the inconvenience. That is what a well-run company should do and, to their credit, they did it. read more

I have always cleaned my grill myself each spring before we depart for the summer, but having seen the Desert BBQ truck around the country club all winter I asked around and got good comments from neighbors. A little shocked at the $300 price, but that is the price you pay for hiring pros to do it up right. Much better cleaning job than I ever did - all the crud is gone - and even polished the exterior SS. Steven and Nick were great technicians and very courteous. Will never use again and would never recommend. Ridculously high prices and a difficult owner. I called this company because I had a heating problem with my grill and the temperature would never get hot enough. After doing some online searching I suspected a bad gas line. I contacted Desert BBQ Cleaning after finding them on the internet. They clean and repair grills. I had to repair the problem quickly for my tenants. I spoke to the owner Steve on the phone and mentioned the gas line but he said that 95% of heating problems are caused by dirt and that a cleaning should solve the problem (even though I had already spent more than 2 hours cleaning the grill myself a few weeks earlier). Small grills would be $290 and large $350 to clean! I presumed (wrongly on my part) that my Kmart grill would be $290. He also said he would honor his online coupon for $25 off so in my mind the problem should be fixed for $265. Still pretty expensive but I booked the cleaning. The technician showed up and cleaned the grill. I didn't hear anything from the company and saw the credit card charge for $350!!! When I called them to inquire, I was told that the heating problem was due to a defective gas line that would have to be ordered (in Florida???) and would cost me another $100 with installation...ummm WHAT??? Could the technician not have checked for this before cleaning? After arguing with the owner, he agreed to order the piece and install it without charging me anymore money. Finally after waiting days, my tenant went to Home Depot on his own, bought a gas line for $29 and installed it. Voila - all fixed! I contacted the owner one last time to see about adjusting my charges in light of everything but got told he was already out the money for placing the order so there was nothing he could do. Starting our BBQ was a bit of an issue. Juan showed up and never did seem to use the steam cleaning trailer but he did clean the unit. Now, it will not start at all! Reviews are very personal and prior to writing mine, I read a significant variation in the ones posted to this company. I did this after the job was completed. In the past I have read reviews and hired based on them. Sometimes it worked out and sometimes it didn't. So I went a different route this time. I happened upon an ad in the local paper. The company was advertised as "Veteran Owned", which I liked, was offering a Summer discount (which I also liked), so I gave a call. I had a solid and enjoyable conversation with the owner (Steve), told him what I needed (complete cleaning of my Weber Grill), we set up a time, and two days later a young man (I think Nick) showed up (a half hour early) to do the work. He was professional, personable, and did an outstanding job. I am a very thorough individual and when he was done, I found two very small areas that I asked him to give a bit more attention to. Five minutes later I reinspected his work and I had nothing to say other than "thank you for doing an exceptional job." I was compelled to tip him personally because it was that good. Lastly, before leaving, his superior (Juan) stopped by to make sure I was happy. That was a good business practice in my opinion.
