I don't like the new manager; she is very arrogant and has no respect for the customers. I went to speak with her to ask for a discount on something I wanted to buy, but it was damaged and the price was very high. She didn't even look me in the eyes, just said no, and walked away. My husband was served by her at the register, and she didn't say good morning or thank you. Another situation involved my sister, who was shopping, and this same manager was speaking very rudely to one of the supervisors in front of many customers, and the man was very embarrassed. Some customers were very uncomfortable with the situation. I miss the time when Clarck was the DI manager. I have been a customer for over 17 years, but I will never go there to buy anything again. read more

I found this place on yelp. There was plenty of parking. This place was so extremely organized I thought it was a department store. First everything is organized by sections and then color. The kid's section was so easy to navigate. I knew where to look for size and color. They had fitting room. Everything was clean. Pricing was great. I only made a donation at Deseret industries. They were open early. I dropped off seven bags of donated clothing, toys, and other items. The man outside was very pleasant grabbed all the bags for me and offered me a receipt for my taxes. It took about three minutes , no complaints at all. read more

I was treated with horrible discrimination and judge due to me being a Black Woman. I received help becauee i lost everything due to my bank acct getting hacked so i had to start over with new appliances and homlessness. Im just now getting back on my feet and was blesssed by the west ada school district which my kids are district in I received a voucher from them so that i could receive the items i need to get a headstart on restarting over i find a table that was really nice however i didn't have anyone with a truck to assit in moving the table..So last week i spoke with one of the managers at the store "Lauren" who at the moment was nice enough to hold the table for me until today so last week I was told that she wasnt available until yesterday at 1130am i was rold she would be in i only wanted to speak with her because i was prepared to get the table and the thinkgs i needed suvh as cookware etc. with the voucher i received to get back om track so i asked about new chairs which they told me they charge 79 dollars each for whivh was gine the voucher i had covered it. I asked a staff member about the new chairs and turns out the chairs werent going to be suitable foe the the table that was fine with me as well as long as i got the table that i had held by lauren i was fine i can find chairs eslewhere . So im in the store for hrs so i use my time wisely and just start shopping for cookware clothing etc. because im thinking soon ill be able to see "Lauren" the staff member comes back to tell me that he apoke with Lauren on the phone and that she doesnt know when she will be in mond you i have a friend that is waiting on me so she can come with her truck to help me get the table to my place still.so i was very upset and left all items i needed that were in the cart and left it was the sudden change of her coming in at 1130am to not even knowing a time of when mind you i have to work as well and that was just very poor service . .so i called in at about 5pm yesterday to see if i can finally touch basis with lauren . now rather than me be transferred to her or even have the opportunity to speak with they had to get my name and number to somewhat relay tge message that i called so i said to staff memebr why cant you let me speak with so she can tell me herself she doesnt want to speak with me suddenly again she is busy. .So now i understand that my service wasnt wanted from the company because im a black woman who came in and didnt look like needed anything but in all honesty needed everything and recieved a Community Voucher . for help. Now im gonna explain this i was judged and treated very poorly by all staff although they offered to help me they did not because if Lauren didnt want to speak with me it was very clear to me of what was going on in the beginning just very unwelcoming no sincere respect and i will onky know this treatment because according to the staff i was the wrong color to get such help at all . despite them not knowing me or my story. So i will highly recommend to whomever owns this place that I will never step foot in that store in Boise again with the way i was treated its very sad ppl still have that type of hate read more

Still one of my favorite thrift stores. It's just well merchandised snd clean. That makes browsing for treasures so much more pleasant Inventory isn't much different than other stores but it's all about timing. Extra bonus is you don't get hit in the face with that thrift store smell when you walk in! read more

Now these are the prices to expect at a thrift store. I go thrifting to "rescue" small pieces of pottery or China . If I find a weird looking doll it might also come home with me. I do thrifting to help with my anxiety... not sure why it helps. I have learnt so much about various labels and brands. I found three pieces of Irish Belleek China for 75c a piece. How on earth could I not rescue them. I also found a milk glass pear bowl that is perfect to use as a spoon holder. My amusing find was this ugly little boy doll. I paint reborn dolls but I am not a doll fan but he had to come home with me. That was a fun hour and I spent $10 total. I will be going there again and they will be getting my donations. read more

Not sure how the store is itself for shopping, but I pulled up a couple months ago to drop off a whole bunch of bags of donations and boxes. The three young guys standing outside just stood there. Staring at me as I drove up. No smile, no wave, no hello, no nothing. I rolled down my passenger window and said hi there. I have a whole bunch of donations in the back. They stood just staring at me. I got out of my car and opened up the back of my car for them. As they were getting near the end of unloading my car I asked one of them if I could please have a receipt. He just stared at me as he got the paper and handed it to me. It's like dudes, seriously? I'm dropping off donations for needy people. How are you so extremely unfriendly to people who are willing to help out others? Take pride in your work and try to have a smile and be friendly or get a job out of the public's view. I'll never donate here again. They made me feel so uncomfortable and like I was doing something 'wrong' or I was such an inconvenience bothering them to actually have them do their job. I'll go across the street to the other donation locations down Fairview next time. read more

There are a few raised eyebrows at some items prices, but for the most part, this place beats Savers that's just across the way. Grateful for thrift stores that are still thrifty and not charging $5 more for a used wrinkled smelly shirt that was $4 originally at Family Dollar. read more

This is a great place to get plus size clothing when they have it. I come here at least once a month to see if there are any new cute items I might want or need. The staff is great and willing to go the mile here.. It's also a great place to purchase books and such as well as their collection may be older but sometimes you find a diamond in the rough. I've been to a lot of DI's and this one was good, but not great. They have a lot of clothing/children's toy options, but their furniture and home goods/furniture assortment was lacking compared to other locations. The store was clean and the employees were very friendly. The donation process was easy and fast. Overall, I'd say this is a good thrift store to hit up! read more

I have always enjoyed Deseret Industries, very fair prices. The company also works with "hard to place people" for placement for jobs. Very clean, organized, unlike Goodwill. The only issue I have is if you want to work at this place you are told to go to the church the company represents. It's also hard to get anyone to talk to for information. This is a big, clean, efficient and high turnover thrift store. The people working here are friendly and helpful, and there are always bargains to be found. As a donator, they are the only thrift store in the area who has a night drop with a huge Porte Cochere/overhang so your donations don't sit out in the snow/rain. Awesome! They help employ a lot of people who might otherwise be down on luck and provide extensive job training and career counseling as well. This is a top notch thrift store. read more

I've shopped here a couple times & really liked that they have nice Name Brand clothes. When I had a donation to make, I drove further out of my way to bring it here because the items I was bringing were on the more expensive side. They sold an outdoor gas fireplace for one price, signed the receipt. When we went to pick it up, the manager (yes I know his name) REFUSED to give the fireplace that was already paid for. He told us "No, you're not getting it for what you paid, we want $100 more for it". The ONLY reason he finally gave what was paid for to us..he saw it was HIS SON who signed the receipt for the pick-up of the item. He told us "I don't want my son in trouble, so we'll give you what you paid for". Not a good business practice, let alone for a church ran origination!!! read more
