I received an email from the nurse stating that I could come in early to complete my lab work before my 8:00 a.m. appointment. I woke up very early and drove in to have the labs done, only to find that the lab orders had not been released, even though the office was open. This resulted in a wasted trip and unnecessary delay. Once I finally completed the labs, I called the office to inform them that I would be running late and asked whether I should still come in for my appointment. I was told that it was fine and that I should still come. While I was only three minutes away, I received a call saying my appointment would need to be rescheduled, with the explanation that the person I spoke to had not communicated with the secretary. That is an internal office issue and should not have been made my responsibility. On top of this, the secretary was rude and dismissive, speaking to me as though I were at fault--despite the fact that I followed the instructions given to me by their staff. As a result, I wasted two trips, drove a long distance, and was not feeling well throughout this process. Overall, Dartmouth has been the worst hospital I've dealt with in terms of appointment scheduling, communication, and follow-up. I would not recommend them to anyone, especially the Bedford office.

My insurance denied me. I didn't know I was seeing a midwife, nor was I warned that I could be charged for this provider. Dartmouth Hitchcock showed me no sympathy and told me to always check to see if the doctor is covered in the future. Just outrageous. Ladies, beware.

I'm rating him based on my 27 yr old daughters appt. First off let me stress that my daughter…read morewould never dream of doing this because she is too...I'm not so sweet... So here we are....For 5yrs my daughter has had worsening symptoms. She arrived prepared with doctor's reports, test reports and diagnosises. Seeing a neuro was her urologists request. Urologist wants to place an implant near my daughter's spine but wants MS, ALS etc. ruled out. She's tested positive for auto-immune (ANA positive). MS or anything else isn't so far fetched you'd think. This guy upset my daughter to the point she just wants to give up. She's been going through hell and looking forward to maybe getting an overall diagnosis that would make everything make sense. A few examples being: foot drop in one foot that keeps coming and going leaving her toes weakened and not movable, vision problems, is now having to wear an adult diaper because her bladder and brain aren't communicating (neurogenic bladder) she urinates herself without even knowing. She's tested positive for small muscle fiber issues. One brain MRI showed cysts in her spine and brain that have since gone away... But he told her that a lot of people have cysts in their brain. He only reviewed a brain MRI that was 3yrs old. He just blew it all off, just like he blew off her other issues. We have had to witness this slow decline and it's been heart breaking. This young woman keeps living regardless, she works, eats healthy and walks regularly. He didn't order any further testing but told her it isn't MS... IT'S IN HER HEAD. To find out he is a pediatric neurologist but still took my 27 yr old daughter as a patient is confusing. She is not NEUROTIC and has never been a drama queen! I have a medical background, i don't think I'm smarter than a doctor but in this case i do. Everything about this appt. just stinks. If it is beyond his capability to diagnose don't tell your female patient it's in her head and then take her money. Due to insurance she thought this guy was a good choice. At another point he stated "oh look at that" when she ripped off her sock and showed him how the toes on the affected foot look weird and she can't completely bend them..oh look at that isn't a diagnosis and not offering legit reasons as to the how and whys this is happening isn't good enough. Oh, she's not only neurotic but another explanation for it all was that she was just "wired that way" ...Wait..That really doesn't compute, she first became symptomatic 5 yrs ago and she's 27 yrs old. When she first wakes in the morning her leg and foot don't function properly for a while. I regret that i wasn't with her. His final recommendation was that she have her eyes checked...his diagnosis is that she doesn't have MS... Help me figure out how he can make that determination. Nobody's that good... He must be psychic...wow....he told her not to worry so much and to live her life.. There is something definitely wrong... He even asked her if she spends time googling her symptoms... Which is a no... She was referred to a Neuro by a doctor. Her urologist told her she wasn't going to quit on her and they'd figure it all out... Her urinating herself isn't in her head. My daughter is such a positive, happy person considering what's been happening to her. "It's in her head" or "not to worry so much" or that she's "just wired that way" are lazy explanations. She walked out of there feeling defeated and now IS worried thanks to him! I'm just angered. He provided no explanations or reassurances to my daughter.... What kind of doctor does that? He's diagnosing kids when he couldn't even diagnose my daughter who can clearly communicate intelligently all she's been enduring. No help to her what so ever, waste of time and money. STAY CLEAR OF THIS GUY!

I wouldn't recommend it. I don't even know why doctors keep referring kids to him.
