In town recently to attend a family wedding. Several relatives decided to go to a blow dry bar,…read morebut alas there were no Drybar locations in the area. Decided to book with Flaunt for blowouts on the morning of the wedding. Two having blowouts done: one with long hair and one with just-above-shoulder-length layered hair. Two different stylists worked while I watched (just along for the ride, I guess). Long hair blowout looked good. Nicely done and flattering. Shorter, layered hair was quite the challenge. I watched as the stylist tried and tried, kept adding more gels and products and then tried again. Hair got stiffer and stiffer . . . and when she was done, it didn't look a whole lot different from when we walked in, other than it was plastered in place. This is not just a blow dry bar, this is a full-service salon. The majority of the customers getting blowouts here did have longer hair, or hair that was cut to one length. The layers must have really thrown the stylist off . . . which is weird. The following day, I was told it took two separate deep shampoos to get all of the junk out of her hair. Wow, if that had been me, I would have rated this place with several less stars. Only reason they get 3 stars is because the one stylist did do a nice job on the long hair, and I will give Flaunt credit for that.

I went to Lollie's Beauty Bar to have hand-tied extensions installed for the first time. During my…read moreconsultation, my stylist and I discussed that this would be a learning experience for both of us to install curly extensions. I was very clear that if I was going to invest in extensions, I wanted them to be thick and was willing to pay more for more bundles if needed. I was reassured that what I was ordering was enough. I told her that I definitely would want as many installed as possible. Upon arriving to my appointment, I saw that the extensions did not match the curl pattern of my hair, and I had not been made aware of this prior to my appointment (despite the hair arriving prior to my appointment date). Due to my lack of experience, I mistakenly thought that maybe if they were wet and styled different they would blend. After installing roughly half of the extensions, I left the salon and was immediately in tears, seeing that I was wearing what looked to be clip-in Claire's mullet extensions. My hair and the extensions had not been blended whatsoever and there was a huge gap between my hair and the extensions. I decided to speak up and request that we add in as many more as possible and was accommodated with kindness. After styling my hair, cutting and blending it, and adding the extra wefts-- they looked as I had hoped. I decided to pay my stylist for her extra efforts, despite being surprised to have left the first time in that condition. A week and a half later and the entire bottom two wefts of extensions came completely unsewn from my head. The tangling took a chunk of extension and a chunk of my hair to get them unstuck. After expressing honest disappointment and frustration to have to visit a third time, I was given an irritated response and essentially told that this was something I should have expected and I felt that I was being told this was my fault. I requested a refund for the installation because I no longer felt comfortable returning again and I feared that the remaining wefts were also installed improperly and have to now pay yet another stylist to uninstall and then reinstall the hair. After going back and forth with the stylist, the owner gave me a call. She essentially told me that even though she'd never had a client have extensions fall out, the stylist did nothing wrong and she didn't understand why I wouldn't come back in and that we'd have to pick up the conversation another time because her husband was wanting to know when she was coming home and she'd been working all day. I was left with 0 solution other than returning for them to sew in the bottom weft. I was told that there was a no refund policy, and when I asked if there was anywhere that I could have read or been made aware of that policy prior to my services, she stated that it didn't exist anywhere because she'd never needed to tell someone that. While I really liked my stylist, I feel that she was much less prepared than I had been made aware of or understood and I do not feel I received the services I paid for. I felt that after I communicated how unhappy I was, things went downhill quickly. Now I am stuck with thin-looking extensions that I will now have to pay someone else to take out and install properly, after paying $2,600+ for this experience. I do NOT recommend at all. Update: 07/13/22 Update: I now have what I've been told are "tension sores" in different areas on my scalp where the hair was pulled too tightly or unevenly around my head that could cause traction alopecia. They are infected and I am potentially going to have to have the extensions removed as well as a medicated ointment for the skin.

I love Lollies so much!! Everyone is so sweet and welcoming! I look forward to my monthly…read moreappointments!!! They are the best!

I have a very hard time trusting hairstylists and this is a perfect example as to why. *Pictures…read moreare posted as well* I am not from Norman so I did my research and she had good reviews. I went in with somewhat dark brown hair that was a mix of professional and box dye that had been growing out for around 6 months. I had been dark for 3 years and my natural hair is very blonde and I wanted to go back to my natural roots. I was thankful that she was willing to take on the challenge however I would have looked elsewhere if I had known what her "final product" was going to be. She said that we would have to do this process in two sessions so my hair wouldn't get severely damaged, which seemed correct to me. After my first session I was there for 4 hours and there were some harsh lines where the lightener had been, I texted her to schedule my second session (giving her the benefit of the doubt) however after a second 4 hour session the lines were more harsh than the first time, there was several shades of blonde in my hair, the underside of my head was just bleached hair, no toner, it looked silver/white. The next day I got in contact with my friends hair stylist and she said that I was the second worst case of hair botching she's ever seen in her 20+ years of being a hairstylist. She got me in very quickly, and when I showed up she was shocked, to add she mentioned that I had hot roots all over my head. I'm not one to leave reviews but I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

I am brunette and I could not believe all of the burnt blonde, burnt white and pale orange in my hair. I just saw another review by a person named Carly and she experienced the same problem that I did. She also had shades of burnt blonde and burnt white. I am a brunette. It was a nightmare. And don't tell her you don't like it, because she can be very hateful. Just like the review by someone named Carly my new hair stylist could not believe the shape my hair was in. And for goodness' sake don't say anything to her about how bad your hair looks. It will not go well for you.

Don't even consider going anywhere else! I absolutely love the Lion Salon and Spa! I know I always…read morelook for honest reviews so here is my break down: Covid-19 Concerns: They have these gorgeous plexiglass dividers that fit right into their aesthetic, not only are they chic but they provide another barrier of protection between you and other clients. Everyone is required to wear a mask however when you are in your secure plexiglass "cubby" it is personal discretion, although they appreciate it if you keep your mask on. Temperature checks are done at the door and you sign a Covid-19 waiver before going into your appointment. They do a great job of keeping everything clean and everyone safe! Stylists: All of the stylists are AMAZING, and I absolutely recommend Jen. The best piece of advice I was given by one of the stylists there is that yes everyone is qualified to do anything you need but when setting up an appointment ask who would best fit your needs. So if you're a brunette looking to deepen your color and get a chop you definitely want to see Zach but if your a blonde who needs a touch up on highlights and is looking for a long tapered look, Jen's got your needs! So when setting up your next appointment don't be afraid to ask for the best fit! The Cut/Services: To sum it up in one word... Luxurious! I have never had a bad cut, color, or service here. Prices can be a little on the high side but you are paying for quality, I like to think of it as investing in myself. Even if you are just going in for a cut not only is your hair receiving nourishing Aveda products but at the bowl, they do warm facial towels to enhance the relaxation experience. Atmosphere: Bright, inviting, sleek and modern was my initial impression of the salon. The staff is top tier and holds true to the Aveda name. The salon itself is extremely clean and put together, this is a local professional salon. From the moment you walk in the door, the stylist's attention is on you, they aren't taking calls while cutting your hair or gossiping with coworkers while you're in foils. If your looking for smiles and sophistication then you have found the place to fulfill your beauty service needs!

I waited 15 minutes after my appointment time before she came and got me and really thought I should just get up and leave. I know it's hard to cut someone's hair for the first time but it wasn't anything like I wanted. I've had my share of bad cuts for sure and thank goodness my hair grows fast. It was way too short and the back of my hair was crooked, I looked like my hair was a bell. I ended up having to call my regular stylist (which was on vacation at the time I wanted a hair cut) and have her fix my hair. The price was a little too much for what I ended up with $96 and then I did a deep conditioning treatment which was another $15. I felt like she forgot about me in the bowl. And I tipped her $30 on top of that. Then had to pay my girl to fix it after all that. Still love the rosemary and mint shampoo but not the finished product. Lesson learned.
