Very knowledgable and kind! The wait was better than at my family doctor. Even better now that she has someone in office designated to for the aesthetic side so that she can focus on the medical. Speaking about the aesthetics, WOW she is so much fun and has ton of energy and knowledge. What a pleasant clinic to go to, everyone is so down to earth and smiling. read more

As a teenager, I had problem skin. Thanks to a unique combination of genes and diet, my face resembled a pie more than a person. Acne is a terrible, terrible thing for a pre-teen and eventually my doctor took pity on me and referred me to Doctor Zip. Now, I've been going back to the dermatology centre for this and that for nearly ten years, and Dr Zip is always happy to help me out. My acne was reduced, and then nearly gone. I will never be blessed with 100% clear skin, but the odd pimple every now and again is a far cry from a face full of pustules. The dermatology centre is a conglomerate of doctors who deal with skin-related issues, which include a lot more than just acne. They deal with psoriasis and rosacea and they do some cosmetic procedures as well and even wart removal. I've always found myself in good hands when I've visited, so I can't complain! read more

If you got a referral to Dr. Zip, just tell your doctor you want a new one. The office is in a central location in the SW, and that's all it has going for it. Upon check in you are not greeted. You wait in line for 2 receptionists to look up from what they are doing and put their hand out for your health care card. No "Hi" nothing. I also found it super professional of the one lady who wears sunglasses on the top of her head. You wait and sit in these old wooden benches to be called into another super old exam room. Seriously, this place needs to be gutted. Dr. Zip is nice enough but she doesn't take her time. You get 5 minutes MAX of her time before she begins to talk to you from the door. Save yourself some time and don't take this referral. As for a different doctor. read more

Dr. Zip is the first dermatologist who was able to help me from the first appointment. I was very impressed that she not only helped me with the issue I came in for, but immediately noticed and diagnosed me with another condition which she gave me a prescription for. It has been a struggle to get doctors to notice my dermatological issues, and I am grateful for Dr. Zip's expertise and assistance. read more

My wife called in to reschedule an appointment and the girl answering the phone (Mila) was very rude and obnoxious, I would strongly recommend to consider a different Docrtor!! read more

Recently saw Dr. Zip and was very pleased with the efficiency in getting an appointment very quickly. Reception staff very accomodating . Very pleased with consultation with Dr. Zip. She was professional, gave me ample time for my appointment and was thorough with procedure and explanation. Followup phone call from her personally to me for biopsy result was appreciated and her reassurance for future possible need to see her was a comfort. I would recommend Dr. Zip to anyone needing a dermatologist. read more

I scheduled an appt at the Dermatology Centre and expressed my concern about not having been to see the Dr. In quite a while. The receptionist said it wasn't a problem and booked me in. I had to cancel some work to make the appt., but health is important. I waited for over an hour and was only then told that the Dr. couldn't see me because it had been too long since my last appt. I was furious for having missed work to be there and then waiting so long, just to be told to go home and get a new referral from my GP. I will get a new referral for a dermatologist, but it won't be for the Dermatology Center, that's for sure! What a waste of time and money read more

The people at this derma are terrible and will not help you with anything at all. They'll prescribe you all kinds of crazy expensive things that won't help anything read more

Having had skin cancer on two occasions, I must have myself checked out every year. If Dr. Zip is my only defense against finding potential cancer cells, and she is, I'm as good as DEAD!!! My annual check-ups with her are less than cursory and I walk out feeling like MY time was wasted, but certainly not hers. The last time I was there, she completely ignored my question about an issue I was having and was out the door in less than five minutes. She couldn't have been more disinterested if she was trying!!! I won't even bother to warn you about the unfriendly and tactless receptionists who are a disgrace to their chosen "career". I'm going to ask my GP for another referral!!! read more

This is the worst managed office I have ever encountered. The receptionists are rude, and incapable of handing any administrative issue with any patient care in mind. It is impossible to get an appointment with Dr. Zip in any reasonable time frame, she is out of the office and has too many patients so clearly her job is about money not patients. I would not recommend using this office or Dr. Zip. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the amount of time to wait. I scheduled a mole removal more than a year ago and still nothing. After I went to my Family doctor to get a referral I was told to wait 5 months which I thought would be the time they would removed my mole but nope, Dr. Zip just looked at it and told me that it was flat so I couldn't laser it off. It's the other way around because flat moles are supposed to lasered off. And I was told to go home and that they would call be back once they're ready. It's been a year and still counting. Just for a simple 15 minute procedure...I went to another place and got it removed on the same day DONT GO HERE IF YOU DONT WANT TO WAIT A YEAR FOR SOMETHING SO SIMPLE read more

I had to drive two hours for this appointment, to wait yet another hour (I was one hour late being seen). Then Dr. Zip saw me for a total of about 5 minutes, 3-4 of those she was standing next to the door trying to leave. She seemed knowledgeable and friendly, but was way too much in a rush to go over any of my problems. I will definitely NOT be coming back here. I also agree with the other reviews regarding the front staff. Unfriendly, not a very nice waiting area (bench seats?!) and busy. read more

I had an appointment with Dr. Sharon Hackett for the first time. She is dismissive, rude, condescending and unhelpful. She spent a total of 2 minutes with me and didn't even bother to look at my skin condition. I have follow up appointments that I will now skip and will find another dermatologist. They will not help you and will treat you like garbage quickly and efficiently taking your money and getting you out of the office as fast as possible. WARNING: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE read more

Was in to see Dr Sharon Hackett. Very disappointed not only in her knowledge but her mannerisms as well.I assume she has an education,as she is one of the doctors after all not that anything she said or did would reflect that fact !! My appointment was 4 minutes .....just under actually. She did not even enter the room stood at the door and told me I did that.I tried to tell her that the rash is weeping, she said no it hasn't.i tried to show her the rash on the side of my face and head ....she still did not enter and said ya...I don't know and told me to buy a cream and left the room! Thankfully I was sent to another dermatologist who was amazing !!! NOT IN THE SAME CLINIC! The new dermatologist has helped and explained everything I finally feel I have been helped. If you have been sent to Dr Hackett please ask for another referral. read more

I show up for an appointment that I was waiting for 5 months. The doctor is running behind the schedule. It turns out it is not that big of a deal because I end up in and out of her office in under 2 minutes. Dr Hackett's tone of voice and body language scream annoyance. You are just wasting her precious time asking silly questions. She is rude, condescending, and interrupts you by saying "this can't be done", "this can't be diagnosed", "this is not what it looks like". If you ask her to repeat a question, she glares at you and you immediately regret the day you were born. I don't know why this woman hates her job so much but keeps seeing patients, she is clearly in this business for the wrong reasons. read more

My dermatologist moved here from a clinic in the NW so it was simply a matter of following her not conscious choice. I called twice to confirm the location and date/time of my appointment and they just didn't answer the phone. I ultimately receive a reminder voicemail the week before the appointment which was pleasant enough and did provide the address so it was helpful. The day of my appointment my experience with the front desk staff was disappointing. There were two women working the front desk and third who was sitting back a bit and appeared to be in training. The waiting room was quite busy which did not bode well for the appointment being on time and there were four people lined up in front of me just waiting to check in. Neither of the women working at the reception desk even looked up to acknowledge that we were waiting. Finally the one working with the woman in training called over the first person in line and honestly just looked annoyed. This may be a misread but she certainly didn't smile. When it was just me waiting to check in again no one looked up, no one called me over and then finally same thing I get called over by the annoyed looking woman. I apologized and said I wasn't sure if she expected me to just walk up or to wait until she called me over. She was all business which is no problem but at least be friendly , you are the face of the clinic when you work at the reception and her demeanor was certainly less than receptive. I checked in 30 minutes before my appointment. I was finally called in to sit in an examining room 20 minutes after my appointment time. As I thought, behind schedule or perhaps they just overbook. I say this because none of the people ahead of me seemed to be in an exam room for very long so clearly the appointments themselves didn't last long. In the end I didn't wait long to see the Dr. once I got in the examination room. Overall a little disappointed with this clinic specifically the front desk/reception. They don't seem too excited to be working with the public and it shows. The appoinments are clearly not booked with the patients time taken in to consideration. I expect there to be a bit of a delay its just how it is at Dr's offices but a bit of communication would be nice. read more

I just found out from talking to another dermatology centre. These people are liars, and far from professional. Despite some of them being extremely rude, and childish (that's another story). But just found out there are 5 dermatology centres. Both the doctors and the lady downstairs will tell you there's only two in Calgary. They will say they are by appointment (which they pitch and sell their services, Alberta Health care pays them from insurance, when you go there), and tell you that the Marketmall location is first come first serve and not open on the weekends. Very dishonest people. I at one point couldn't go during the day b/c of workload and my psoriasis ended up getting really bad. And now, I just out there's one in DT right by my office. This blows me away. read more
