I came in June because I had a suspicious mole (it ended up being moderately precancerous) and Molly, the physician's assistant, was fantastic. She also checked the rest of my body for irregular moles and called within days to notify me of my results. She also patiently answered any questions I had. I came back yesterday because the scar from my mole had gotten some pigment back in it and while they had only scheduled me for a 15-minute appointment, Dr. Damon McClain said, "You know what? Let's do this." (He knew I was trying to get the mole excised before school started and that I didn't love walking around with it growing back. Normally, I would have had to make another appointment.) I've never laughed during an operation before, so that was a win. He's incredibly personable and funny! Highly, highly recommended!

I heard her argue with two different people. She was so rude. A man was just discussing his frustrations with ACA and she acted like he was whiny. Another man said he forgot his insurance card and he'd send a copy and she gave him an even harder time. She even told me that people have Tricare have ID cards even though I'm in the military and know they don't. Just rude and horrid. They told me I needed to get an abnormal mole removed right away then made me re-arrange my work schedule to fit an inconvenient time during the day. Then I get there at said time and was told it was a half an hour later. I was specifically told the time I showed up at. Then I hear them gossiping about it while sitting in the waiting room. After I get my results from my biopsy I will NEVER return to this office. Unprofessional across the board.

I had provided the Vujevich…read moreoffice with two insurance cards, one that I had since I was 19 (now 25) and the other from my current contract, I tried to explain that after a certain amount of time, my insurance will change after my contract is up but the front desk receptionist was so so rude that I didn't want to speak to her any longer and just sat down. Guess what? Now that it's the new year, i get a call from said receptionist that my card is no longer valid. LIKE I TRIED TO EXPLAIN BEFORE. Every single time I have unfortunately had to interact with her, whether for my keloid injection or simply just to confirm my appointment, she is beyond condescending and disrespectful. I have never seen anything like it before. It's like she has something against her company and is intentionally trying to sabotage them. I have cancelled any future appointment and now, I am trying to figure out how to pay my outstanding bill without having to talk to that vail woman. I will never return, in fact I wish I could warn anyone that ever has to interact with this woman to stay far away. Evil spirit and energy.

I know it might be weird to review a medical practice on Yelp and it is not something I typically…read moredo. However after my experience now at Highfield on two separate occasions I think it is justified. Prior to my even having an appointment the staff was incredibly helpful. My PCP was ordering a specific MRI which they had not ordered before and we were not sure would be covered. Highfield actually called me and walked me through step by step how the order should be written and how the doctor should put it through. After passing their advice on to my doctor approval came through pretty quickly. I was able to schedule and get in pretty quickly. They even have Saturday hours. Due to Covid right now they are not allowing anyone other than the patient in (unless necessary). You ring a bell to be let in and they check your temperature before letting you in to the waiting room. They had sanitizer out and were handling things very well. My scans were done by two different people on two different days. Both of them were very nice and accommodating. They explained what to expect and how long each portion would take. They made sure I was as comfortable as could be when positioned for the MRI. After the scans were finished maybe 10 minutes later I was out the door with discs of my images in hand. I have had a lot of MRIs done and the ones at Highfield were by far the smoothest process from start to finish. I wouldn't hesitate to go here again in the future or to recommend it (to friends or here on Yelp).

However, our experience with acne treatment for my daughter has been disappointing. We prefer a tiered, collaborative approach to care--starting with less intensive treatments and escalating only if necessary. Unfortunately, this practice seems to favor jumping straight to the most aggressive (and expensive) options, without much discussion or openness to alternatives. We were particularly concerned about the strong push toward using The Burgh Pharmacy, which felt more like a business partnership than a patient-centered recommendation. On two separate occasions, we explicitly asked that prescriptions not be sent to The Burgh Pharmacy so we could review them with our preferred local pharmacy first. Despite this, Whalen still sent the scripts to The Burgh Pharmacy after a couple of days--disregarding our request. When we asked questions about the prescribed treatments or suggested trying a gentler approach first, we were met with resistance and even condescension. My daughter was told by reception, "Why would you ask your pharmacist?!"--a response that dismisses the value of a team-based approach to healthcare. We believe in informed decision-making and collaborative care. Unfortunately, this practice didn't seem to welcome that mindset. While they may be a good fit for some, especially for routine dermatological care, those seeking a more personalized, stepwise approach to treatment may want to explore other options.
