I reached-out to our Home Warranty company regarding a failed, pool cleaner booster pump. Timing was poor as we had a huge pollen and windy storm come through and the pool was in rough shape. Derk's Pool Werks was assigned and he contacted me within an hour of placing the work order. Furthermore, Derk said he would be happy to come by even though it was late on a Friday of a big, 3 day holiday---which shocked me. Derek shows-up and immediately assessed the issue and agreed that the pump was faulty after checking other items too. Even though it was a holiday, he kept me updated on the repair status with the Home Warranty group. By the following Wednesday he had the pump and replaced it right away. I read a few reviews on Derk who stated he was difficult to work with---I can't disagree more! One thing I would tell you is that he is very "old school"; he probably isn't going to be all "touchy/feely" to anything unrelated to his assigned task. I truly appreciated that and as long as you understand that he has a job and if you respect his effort/schedule----you will get along fine. I for one would rather work with someone like Derk who is hard-working, skilled and not one to waste time. I would have him back again to help me with any other pool issue. read more

This company was assigned by our Home Warranty company. The technician (Derk) who arrived at our property didn't even introduce himself as he walked past my husband and our pool maintenance guy and then promptly started pulling equipment off of our pool filtration system. My husband nicely tried to tell him not to untape the parts unless he had the replacement piece. Derk immediately started yelling at my husband when questioned about what he was doing. He then called my husband an "ass" and then stormed off without fixing anything. His parting words were "good luck finding anyone else to fix this for you" and hopped in his truck and cancelled the service call with our Home Warranty Company. We are now out $90.00 for the service call with our home warranty company and had to pay another company $200.00 to fix it. This guy is a loose cannon, is extremely unprofessional. Derek is very rude. He should not be in business dealing with people. He is very short tempered. He obviously hates his job otherwise he wouldn't be so rude. He was hired by my home warranty company. He was upset on how far he had to drive to do repairs. Then he had the nerve to take his anger out on my son and I. He acted like I hired him directly. I would never hire someone with his attitude. After the first vendor did not follow through, our home warranty company referred us to Derk from Derks Pool Werks, to inspect the leaks in our pool pump and filter. Derk followed up with a phone call and scheduled an appointment for the next day, a Wednesday. He was able to fix the pump but we needed a new filter and he ordered it the same day. Thursday morning he was back with the new filter and well before noon, we were on our way back to a clean, clear pool. We had insurance to call Derk Pool to fix our pool pump. Derk was here 30 July to fix but had to go get parts. He cannot come back till Sunday and was even came in wrong time that we talk about this. He couldn't come back a week later but got mad that i told him that he was early and I said is great, got so mad that I talk him about time. Escalating his talk got so mean and pointing. I tried to talk, something switch himself and I had to cancel his work. Talked him many times to leave, finally. I think his stance and talk is like methamphetamine ! Work was assigned to the company on 1/11/23 and as of 1/28/23 we still had no contact from them despite multiple calls requesting confirmation/assistance in setting expectations. Very happy with Derk! My home warranty contracted with Derk to replace my blown out main pool pump on a Tuesday and he was out to diagnose it first thing Wednesday morning. Came back Thursday morning to fix it, and again on Friday to replace another part that we didn't know had broken (until fixing the main pump). I put in a repair order with Fidelity my home owners warranty and at first they tried sending out another company who I've used and all they did was a temporary patch that had to be redone every year. I asked for someone else and they sent out Derks Pool Werks and I must say I highly recommend him. He was polite, professional and very punctual. He came out in the morning and submitted his paperwork to Fidelity and was back out with new parts in The afternoon. Great customer service read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. If I could give him negative stars I would. It's sad when the home owner, pool/spa owner knows more than a supposed pool/spa contractor. I had my bearings in my spa pump go out on me. I have a home warranty. They sent out derks. He came out on Thurs July 11, 2019 and said that yes I needed a new pump and next Fri my pump would be put in. He would put the order in later that day. He has 3 days to turn it in with the home warranty company. I called the following week. Nothing turned in. They called and emailed him several times. It took him a week to turn the work order in. A week later I saw the part was ordered. On July 15 He ordered the wrong one. My pump had 1 1/2inch hole for the pipes, he ordered a 2inch pipe hole. Obviously he did not measure the pipe size like common sense says to. The warranty would not take my word that he ordered the wrong pipe size sense he is supposed to know what he is talking about. I have not heard back from Derk even though the part has been ready to pick up for 2.5 weeks. I called my warranty group on Monday. They called Derk and said he would be at my house on Fri between 2 and 3 pm. Why didn't he call me to set appt? He finally calls me on Wed wanting to come over to make sure he ordered the correct part. Guess what low and behold I WAS RIGHT, MY PIPES ARE 1 1/2 INCHES NOT 2 LIKE HE ORDERED. I say the correct part was ordered on Thurs Aug1. I received an email on Fri Aug 2 stating the part was in. I than call derks and wanted to find out he he was still coming out today to put the pump in. He said he was on his way to get the pump and would be at my house around 2pm. Than he went onto say THAT MY GFIC WAS NOT WORKING WHRN HE 1ST CAME AND THAT IF IT IS NOT WORKING NOW HE WONT PUT THE PUMP IN. HE NEVER SAID ANYTHING TO ME OR THE WARRANTY GROUP ABOUT THE GFCI BEING BAD. I asked him why that wasn't turned in. He stated he just turned it in. Than he proceeded to tell my that MY CONTROL PANEL IS BAD, AGAIN NEVER SAID ANYTHING TO ME OR MY WARRENTY COMPANY. he next told me that he really didn't want to do the work on my spa. THAT MY SPA IS A PIECE OF CRAP. EXCUSE ME, YOU DONT TALK LIKE THAT TO A CUSTOMER AT ALL. He also Said he is going to call my warranty company and tell them that he won't fix my spa. I TOLD HIM ITS OBVIOUS THAT HE DOESNT KNOW ANYTHING SENCE HE DIDNT EVEN MEASURE WHAT SIZE MY PIPES ARE FOR THE PUMP. HE IS AN IDIOT. It's sad That a spa owner knows more than a supposed spa/pool repair person does. Boy did I make major complaints to my home warranty company over him. From what I can tell HE IS FIRED FROM THEM.
