The children's section upstairs is always full of phenomenal books that children are eager to read. The adult section is well organized, quiet, clean, and relaxing. The staff is friendly, and very helpful. There is plenty of parking and the hours it is open and makes it a convenient place to find the newest books.

This is absolutely one of the most gorgeous libraries I've ever stepped foot in. It doesn't have…read moremuch other than street parking, but the building is amazing. It's about 100 years old and built to be a library, it's not formerly something else. There are mosaics on the wall, gorgeous old fireplaces, a microfilm machine in front of a display of stained glass, and a book room out of a movie. The librarians are also very kind, able and eager to answer questions, and obviously proud to be custodians of such a beautiful building.

It was awkward and weird that I had to leave because it was only us in the room. As I was leaving a father and his daughter came in and she didnt speak to them either. It is disgusting behavior, you work at a public library you should be friendly at least fake it. The front desk woman was very nice though. I feel so uncomfortable I dont think I will go back it was just weird.

This cute library is tucked away from the hustle of Seymour; their neighbor across the street is a…read moregraveyard so it's a quiet area. The parking lot is a fair size, and there was plenty of parking within walking distance of the entrance. It was open and bright, with places to sit from traditional study carols to bay window seats to read by natural light. The librarians were very friendly and had an interest in their patrons. The displays had history of Seymour, and seasonal displays mostly geared towards children.

For a town of its size, the collection and facilities of the public library in Woodbridge are…read moredecent. However, it clearly trails other local libraries in certain areas. Most prominently, other libraries get new books and DVDs out into circulation MUCH faster than Woodbridge. Other libraries seem to get stuff out on street date (the day it would go on sale at retail) - at Woodbridge, it almost always takes a week or two of sitting in "Tech Services" before anything goes out. When I brought this to the attention of the previous Director, she merely gave me a list of flimsy excuses. It was pretty sad, as the fact remains every other library is serving their users more efficiently. The underlying problem is that though the librarians here are fairly pleasant, there's virtually no turnover, and therefore nothing encouraging anyone to work smarter, harder, faster, etc. In addition to everything working slowly, I've noted that the librarians rarely collect late fees, especially from the older patrons - they usually say something like "you have a late fee of x, but don't worry about it if you don't have it today". What's the possible justification for not collecting late fees? To make it worse, I've on several occasions seen librarians inform a patron that they have an overdue item, and the patron say "oh, I returned that". And the librarian accepts this claim at face value, and tells the patron not to worry! I witnessed this just the other day. This encourages awful behavior and punishes the rest of us who go to pains to respect the library's collection, return items on time, pay late fees, etc.

In Connecticut there is a small unassuming town that is truly worth exploring. Sometimes when you…read moregrow up in a town you don't always appreciate the little things but today with the sun shining bright, the simplest places I see all the time seemed especially beautiful. The town is Orange and growing up everybody always thought oranges were rolling down the roads. However, after all that joking, many of the buildings really looked magnificent and made me realize how incredible this town truly is. The town was incorporated in 1822 and was actually named after William III of England, who was Prince of Orange from birth. Whether you are exploring the Orange public library, or the old farm houses and rolling farmland, the new art exhibition at the Town hall or the old Congregational Church proudly standing next to the town center green, everywhere there is a breathtaking sense of peace and tranquility. It is definitely worth a drive through from anywhere.

Built in the 1790's, the Maple View Farm was a working dairy and produce farm. It is also mere steps from the Orange public library. You will often see horses and ponies romping and grazing in the field. The farm currently offers small groups the opportunity to embark on rides with a beautiful large horse drawn wagon. Both the wagon and pony rides can be booked on and off their premises.
