Our server was attentive the entire time which was very much appreciated. There's a cool ambiance about this restaurant -- everyone here (except me!) were dressed very trendy. We started off with a round of caipirinhas which were well made and strong. For pizzas, we went with the caprese and margherita pizzas which were a nice balance. The caprese was topped with fresh arugula and cherry tomatoes which were refreshing. The margherita was everything you'd expect it to be. If you're craving pizza in Lisbon, give this place a try!

It's a big establishment that looks beautiful outside and inside. Our waiter was very observant, bringing another customer napkins when he saw the customer had spilled something on himself, and bringing us more bread when he saw we were almost done. However, he mixed up the combinations of our orders. The beef steak order was supposed to have Portuguese sauce with fried eggs but there were no eggs and it came with mustard sauce, which didn't taste as good as the Portuguese sauce. The chicken steak was supposed to come in mustard sauce and no fried egg but it was covered in Portuguese sauce topped with a fried egg. Pao Torrado Fatitas (bread) - .65 euros. 2 Manteiga, 2 Manteiga Alho (4 packs of butter)- 3.20 euros. The garlic butter was too addicting for my own good. The beef/chicken steaks drenched with either Portuguese or mustard sauce came with two free sides (rice, salad, etcand a fried egg for an extra charge. The chicken steak was only 9.95 euros while the beef steak was 15.60 euros. I absolutely loved the spinach purée side, it didn't sound appetizing but it was so bomb. Try dipping your fries in it! Overall, the chicken steak was a bit boring even with the sauce. They didn't have hamburgers left.

When we stopped to look at the menu the woman acting as hostess and server didn't use any English but convinced us to stop. FARTA BRUTOS, is a tiny place with a LOT of character that's been around for 113 years (as I mentioned above, our waitress spoke zero English so this was a little challenging at first). After our wine tasting I decided to have another taste of red from the Douro region (no, it doesn't really pair well with what I had, but I don't care). It's a crappy photo, but we had an appetizer plate (they're sneaky-they bring it to you THEN tell you if you don't want it they can take it away...we kept it). Olives (for Wifey) and a tuna mixture that didn't seem to have much more than olive oil and finely chopped onions - and it came with some Portuguese bread - I loved it. For our main meals, Wifey had a "fish rice" meal and I had a baked cod dish with potatoes and spinach that had enough garlic on it to keep the vampires away for the rest of the trip. Accompanied by potatoes. We picked that fish to death to get every last morsel. 2. Arroz de Pato - baked rice with duck meat pieces inside the cassoulet and sausage on top. Rich and crispy. First of all the service was so slow to take our order. We aren't the sort that rush and worry about ordering as quickly as possible, but this took forever. It seemed like we'd been forgotten, despite the fact that we were on what seemed like a prime table. When they finally took it, we ordered a starter of scallops to share, and then two dozen mixed oysters between us. We had to ask for a wine list though, as they'd not bothered to give us one when we say down. The oysters came before the starter, with the scallops turning up half way through. This would have maybe been forgivable if it hadn't been for the fact that the scallops were awful, the oysters gritty (this is maybe not totally fair as six of the French one's were superb) and the shallot sauce was hardly there. The wine we ordered was okay, but the water we ordered never arrived. The place looked like it was trying to be a classy French bistro, but ended up looking like a the dining room in Fawlty Towers. We knew it wasn't cheap, and the bill was as expected, but I can promise you that it wasn't worth it. We won't be going back, and will be advising visiting friends to avoid it.
