It was a hot day and I'm sure everyone was overheated. They have porta potties outside of check in area. Things to know: Bring your own golf ball to test one of the guides theory. Bring comfortable clothes and walking shoes. The location has a few souvenirs and drinks for sale in the check in area. Discount for veterans and first responders. Overall great experience and would recommend. The tour guide was knowledgeable.

Oregon's version of the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz CA…read more I've only been to the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz once over 10 years ago in June 2013 and this experience at the Oregon Vortex was pretty much the same. Max was a very informative tour guide and was great in explaining the history and the "unexplainable" with plenty of exhibits detailing defying the laws of gravity. He asked for volunteers (children and adults) on some of his illustrations like for the height illusions as well as use props like a broom, a measuring tape and a leveler. The tour lasted about 45 minutes. The place is located off the beaten path. From N River Rd/Second Ave as we entered Sardine Creek Rd was another 4-1/2 miles to the attraction itself. Parking is free. Admission price is expensive (I can't remember, I think $20/ea or close to it). Discounts were given if you're a AAA member or military personnel. Mystery Spot in California is half at $10. Anyway, the property is small. This is definitely one of Oregon's oldest and most original examples of Roadside America. 3.5 Stars Review #3264

First, this was kind of an add on stop after grabbing a bite to eat just around the corner. First thing we did was explore the path. I should add that the path is relatively flat and easy to navigate for anyone that has a hard time with hikes. This is a paved path and is pretty flat from one end to the other. There are a few spots you can go down steps for a closer vantage point, but the most steps you will encounter is about 10 at any one point. Great shots of the Rogue can be captured all along the pathway as you walk to the upper point of the viewing area. Just guessing, but round trip I'd say that the total walk distance is approx. 1/2 mile. Now to go into details as to why only three stars. I can't go without saying, the bathrooms here are absolutely disgusting. My gf turned and walked away after the initial door opening/smell that escaped when the door was opened. For this reason alone I had to deduct 1 - 2 stars. If you are just here for the views and don't use the restroom facilities then I'd highly recommend. Really cool all in all minus the bathroom experience.

It is scenic, a great location, ample parking on site or nearby, but more often than not the gate is locked and they are closed. They have been hosting seasonal events lately - a scarecrow festival, a wreath making day this weekend - but they seem to have a scaled down volunteer staff to coincide with the limited hours. It's too bad! This place could be a great spot for the community.

We asked her for some help finding a bakery and while sadly there isn't one anymore, she tried to find us some place where we could get some bread. On top of that, she was knowledgable about what had happened to an old bakery from the town. There's also a lot of parking in the area, so it's a good spot to start a quick walk through this old boom town.

The Peyton Bridge aka Rogue River Bridge is located in Crater Lake National Park in Prospect,…read moreOregon, USA. The bridge is 1,683 foot long and 44 feet wide used to cross over the skinny portion of the Lost Creek Lake. The two towns in between are Mcleod and Prospect in Hwy 62 aka Crater Lake Hwy. Stewart State Park (west) and the Peyton Bridge Trailhead (east) are also notable marks. Cell phone doesnt work here so carry a real map as this forest/park is super lake with unpredictable weather. A few miles northeast is crater lake and the road leading up to this massive crater was closed. That means i traveled over 1k miles to be 10 miles from my destination (frustrating!!!). Per internet research the bridge was built in 1975. Since i didn't use CNN i;m sure it wasn't fake news/data. For you workout freaks, the Union Creek Resort can be a suitable forward operating base to engage in endless outdoor activities and challenges. Hiking, biking, rowing. etc etc etc. Safe travels.
