I stopped in as a walk-in and had a great experience. They have only one barber handling walk-ins like me, while 2 other barbers were there but just worked by appointment. I had Gino, and he was excellent. This was the best haircut I have had in a while. Fast, clean, precise, and exactly what I was looking for. You can tell Gino knows what he is doing and has been doing this for a while. The shop has a very classic barbershop feel. Good decor, comfortable setup, and a relaxed atmosphere. The music was perfect for me as well. When I was in, they had the Black Crowes with Jimmy Page playing Zeppelin, and it added to the overall vibe. Between the quality of the cut, the easy walk-in process, and the overall experience, this was a five-star visit. If I spend more time in the area, I will definitely become a regular. read more

This is as good as it gets. I've been going to Depot square and seeing Dan for almost 8 years now and can't help but recommend it to anyone who asks me who my barber is. I recently moved to Chelmsford and drive 30+ minutes out of my way to go see these guys. I'd say Dan is my guy there, but the consistency of the cut from every barber there is what really stands out. It's cash only so bring a $20 and a $5 and that takes care of your cut and tip for the guys. Take care of your barber, these guys are the real deal. read more

look at my friends hair cut. He asked for a low fade and was given a 1 guard all the way up the conversation was amazing though and kept him busy the whole time. read more

The appointment was on time and Dan listened to my requirements and was very pleasant.

The Depot is a great place with an awesome atmosphere. The quality of cuts is top notch, and the staff will become friends, not just Barber's, after your first visit. Gino, Dan and all the guys always have great conversation and make you feel like a regular really quick. On the weekends, try and go as close to opening as possible, as it does get busy but they are always moving it right along. Also, be sure to bring cash, as they do not take cards. If you're reading this on your phone, there is an ATM right at the end of the row of shops to the left. read more

Nice and clean shop with easy parking, average pricing and plenty of seating. Guys who work there are friendly. Only been here once but won't be back. Hair cut was average and there was no straight razor. I repeat - no straight razor included with the cut. That's what makes a barber shop just that- a barber shop and not a salon. Very surprised they don't do that for every cut. Unsure if it's something they offer for an extra charge or if they aren't licensed for it, but either way it's something I expect from any barber shop. read more

Yeah I'm in Boston. But im no respecter of zip codes. If someone in Wakefield's got the goods. That's where I am. So these days when i get a haircut I'm NOT lookin to end up lookin like Marshall Applewhite. I want to cop a JFK-jr steez! And where am I gonna do that. In Boston??? Psssha. Please. I'll come out looking like a hipster or worse. Or what am I gonna do-go to one of those coyote-ugly-ass red sox themed supercuts? Get outta here. I heard about this place through a friend who knows real people. I'm not in touch with the people-admittedly, I'm in business! Im writin this on my way to madagascar lying down in this new singapore airlines A-380 guppy wishin i could sleep, pacing a little and checking out my new haircut. Damn I look good! Want business school in 5 seconds? Be better at what you do and make it look cooler than anyone else and everyone's buying what you're selling. This place has it. This is a buy order. Selah. read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend who raved about it....reason to worry right off the bat. Despite that, I went this morning. Was seated quickly and was immediately comfortable and felt like a regular. My guy Gino did exactly as asked and was friendly from the outset. I was done in about 15 minutes and was out the door. This is a man's kind of joint and that's exactly what I was after. Price is right at 18 bucks. read more

They should rename this place to Man Town. The guys in there all give solid cuts. The prices are spot on at $16 a cut and it's cash only. Bring a 20 and enjoy what a Barber shop should be for dudes under 40. They style and fade hair proper and give each cut with love. The conversation is usually like hanging out with a bunch of friends at a poker game unless there are kids in the place. The music is pretty cool and you can tell that the guys are really into their music. All the decor in the place makes me think that I am in a movie set and I am making a cameo. It's a pain in the ass to find a good quality cut at Super Cuts prices, but these guys nailed it. Even if there is a line, they piss through it quick and I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes even with a full house. read more

After job change from downtown Boston to Wakefield required me to find a new barber, I tried these guys. Dan did a great job, including a straight razor neck shave. I couldn't be happier with the result! read more

I've tried a bunch of different places in Wakefield, but Depot Square is definitely the spot to get a reliable cut. The guys who work there know what they're doing, and they are good guys who are easy to talk to. They make you feel like a regular even if it's your first time there. I've had cuts by Gino and Dan, and I recommend both of them. They play good music which is another big plus. Even the interior of the place has a cool retro-y barber shop vibe - not a necessity for most fellas, but it locks up the 5th star. read more

Always a great cut here. I had Danny shave my head this summer during the 100 degree heat. Just went back and got a solid fade from one of the new guys. Gino & Burt also get props for super solid haircuts. Pretty much can not go wrong if you are a guy looking for a quality Barber cut. These guys run a solid shop. Try it once and you will become a regular. read more

I'm glad I come to this barber shop. Gino and Dan are great. They're fast and I always get a good haircut from them. The place has a great atmosphere. It has that old school feel. I also like the music they play. With average prices, great barbers, and music, this is a barber shop you should check out. read more

Everyone here is a pro. I take both my boys here (6&4 yo). They always give them a stylish little boys cut. I was so sick of taking them to cost cutters or super cuts where they just buzz their heads and don't offer any sort of style, making it look like I cut my own kids hair. Price is $18, cash only but worth every penny. **also I just recently convinced my Hubby to try them out and he came home declaring he'll never go anywhere else. read more

Wonderful barber shop! I started going here after I moved to Wakefield in mid-2018, and from the very first haircut I received, I was always impressed. Young is a great barber, gets my hair right every single time, and he's easygoing and fun to talk to as well! read more

I walked in one day. Found an establishment with all incredibly friendly & professional people. They couldn't be helpful enough. Then came the hair cut! When done...,it turned out to be the best cut I have EVER had from anyone, anywhere! Luke...you and your team are incredible, talented, professional and can't be beat!!! Incredible people, place and service! read more

Great place if you want a "high and tight" when you asked for something completely different. It wasn't even a good high and tight for that matter. Did not take his time at all, was done in about 7 minutes, which is fine if you end up getting a good haircut. SO if you want a quick bad haircut. This is your place. read more

I went here for the first time and I asked them for a medium-low regulation haircut, the same haircut I've been getting for 5+ years. ...Well, they ended up giving me a very very high fade. Seroiusly ?? That was NOT what I asked for. I was extremely irritated and regret ever penny that I paid. Never again will I go here. You can't even follow a simple request? I also ened up with a line of hair still on the bottom of my neck and loose hair in my hair!! How inexcusable. Very unprofessional Also, there was no hot towel, powder, neck shave, or cologne - which many good places would do for free. I left with a haircut I DID NOT ASK FOR, hair at the bottom of my neck, and cut hair still in my hair. How does this barber shop have such good reviews?? read more

These guys are amazing. It's always busy there and price is within the normal range. I've tried many places in Wakefield/Melrose but I always come back here for the best haircut. read more

A frendly place that delivers a comfortable atmosphere with skilled hands wielding scissors and buzzers. Even after moving out of Wakefield, I still find myself coming here for haircuts. read more

My hair cuts are pretty basic: a fade each and every time. But I've had enough bad experiences that this is the only place I will let touch my hair. read more

Overall, very good place. Everyone does a good job, I have gotten hair cuts from 3-4 different people and all have done a superb job. Sometimes it can get busy, but that's due to good service, and high volume, not lack of speed. Great place, will continue to go there until proven wrong, but that it's current rate, this should not happen any time soon. read more

This place is legit. Sick of Floyd's overpriced location and constant turnover (rarely see the same people in there) I hit it up based solely on Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. I'm trying to grow my hair out long for only the second time in my life and couldn't stand the hair around my ears or at the back of my neck but wanted to leave the top long. Dan took that description and ran with it - couldn't be happier with the results - he was meticulous. Not to mention the conversation was better than most of those sullen 20 year old chicks can muster. I'll be back. read more

Just took a chance and walked in today. The wait wasn't long. The barbers were friendly and quick. Great attention to detail and I think I found my new spot! read more

Been coming to this barbershop for a few years and have had my hair cut by everyone there and they always do a great job. $16 cash only.

I have got my haircut here consistently for the last 6+ years. Dan is amazing he is meticulous and has never given me a fresh cut that is less than perfect!! The barber shop is a cool spot with good music and convos with the barbers. I drive out of my way since I have moved a few towns out of the way from Wakefield because I never not been more than satisfied after I get "my ears lowered!!" I highly recommend these dudes! read more

Been coming to this shop for over 10 years. Not one barber I wouldn't let cut my hair. Great atmosphere and tons of character

Never saw a guy so dedicated to making a good fade as I experienced with Dan. If a hair was out of place he was back at it. Good place just for men with an old style feel, but modern styling for men. I would visit again. read more

I believe that I've frequented 6 different barber shops over time and Depot Square has to be by far the best barber shop I've ever been too. The barbers really know what they are doing (Rory!). The culture is great, the prices are right, and I couldn't find a negative thing to say about the place even if you paid me. 10 stars read more

Just took my 6 yr old son and after I paid, my son pointed to a still bleeding large cut on the back of his ear. When I pointed it out to the barber, he just shrugged it off and told me not to touch it. He was completely unapologetic and quick to get paid. Thankfully, I eventually got the bleeding to stop so a stitch wasn't needed. Good haircut, but the barber handled the situation with zero empathy. Traumatic barber experience for my little man :-( read more

I've been coming here for a long time and it's pretty much the ideal barber shop. They're always playing alternative/rock music. 18$ cash only. Never had a bad haircut here. read more

Great place with very likable staff. My son and I enjoy going there to clean up. They've been around a long time and it is easy to see why.

This barber shop is by far the nicest around. The quality of the cuts to the atmosphere make this place awsome. Been coming here since I was 12 and am now 20. Gino is my favorite barber of the shop. I'll wait in any line to get my cut. Gives the best fades around. The other barbers Bert and Danny are also very talented and kind. This place is a mans barber shop for sure. read more

Always leave with a great haircut. Thanks to Gino and the rest of thr crew.

I took my 9 year old son here last weekend. My sons haircut is an inch on the back and an inch longer on the top. We waited and when a spot opened, he had a seat. The barber asked, "would you like a boys haircut." Red flags went up but gave him a second chance. He then asked the other barber if he'd like to 'tackle' this one. The other barber shook his head but then agreed. So we switch seats(not sure why I bothered at that point). I was hoping this guy would be less ignorant but he wasn't. He said in front of my child, "this is a pixie girls haircut." To insult a child like that is terrible. Instead of admitting they didn't know how to cut without an electric clipper, they choose to insult a child. I would not give them business. Singerhill barber is not far, and she does a wonderful job. read more
