But why go there when you can support local businesses and find that funky sized spring or unique bolt!? They have the standard stuff too so don't worry about not finding what you need. Shelby Hardware is great and I'll continue to be a loyal customer. Keep it local!

The store owner ( an older guy like myself) decided to escort me around his near perfect hardware business. He explained each item that I was interested in with knowledge and precision. He had a ton of nice stuff and it was priced fairly and competitive with big box places! I don't recall ever being treated more nicely anywhere! I highly recommend!

Tool quality has gone up over the years and HF and they now have tools at every price point from budget one time use to super nice Icon (think Snap-on) mechanics tools. Honestly this is the Hobby Lobby for men. Be warned wives, if your husband walks in here you might as well go get a coffee because it's gonna be a minute!

He did that, rolling the lattice, tying it together, then stuffing it into my back seat. What a wonderful, thoughtful thing to do! I love being able to get what I need there as opposed to driving all the way to the big box hardware stores and it is rare that they don't have what you need, from clothing to tools to lawn and garden supplies and parts for just about anything. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. They know the items they carry and exactly where to find them. Best of all, this business supports the local community by partnering with a local business to grow food which is then donated to a community kitchen to feed the hungry right here in our town, and these are our neighbors who might otherwise be going to bed hungry. So yes, there are times when I know I could get what I'm looking for elsewhere at a lower price, but I choose to support this small business which supports our community by helping feed the hungry, supporting our local theatre and scouting groups, and sponsors ladies night at the hardware store and other events.
