Great little place to eat. This was a last minute stop, the burgers were good and fresh cut French fries.

It's definitely worth the longer-than-usual wait! Your patience will be rewarded. I ordered their twist of a famous dish, the Wally Cristo, which was an absolute delight with its combination of fry bread, bacon, cheese, and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. It's served with a side of rich, creamy apple butter that I should have ordered extra off. It's deliciously sweet. What unique and delicious meal! A beautiful execution of the classic dish! The Farmer's Omelet was packed with flavorful ingredients that satisfied my taste buds. It was jam packed with the goods (sizzlin' bacon, sausage, ham, cheddar cheese, seasoned country potatoes) perfectly enveloped in FOUR eggs (they're not stingy) and smothered in hot, yummy sausage gravy for only $12.95. No lie, this is one of the best omelets I've ever had the pleasure of eating! Overall, I highly recommend Wally's Cafe for their creative and tasty menu options. This is a MUST-TRY! I will be returning this summer to try their famous, signature dish - Mama's Breakfast Pot Pie.

We're on our…read moreway from WA to MT and with long stretches between towns, we were hungry when we pulled into Salmon and almost made the mistake of playing it safe (and being bored ) with the "Other Place" up the street. But when you're on an adventure, you do adventurous things, right? So glad we did! Hubby ordered a Grilled Ham n Cheese and I went with a Mushroom Swiss Burger. They proudly customize burgers any way you want! I also noticed and appreciated that the burger patties were hand smooshed instead of mechanically squeezed to death (it sure looked a lot bigger than your typical franchise burgers!). There were several high schoolers doing a great job handling the kitchen and taking orders! Hubby attacked his GH&C sandwich too quickly so I didn't get a pic, but they were very generous with the ingredients and he enjoyed every bite. After reading some of the past reviews, it looks like the new owners have really turned things around. Kudos to them! We look forward to making this stop a habit when visiting the grandkids!

Walking in I already liked the vibe, it was delightfully welcoming. Another order at the counter and pay before getting your food. It was obvious though unlike The Star who seats you with a menu, then tells you to order at the "kiosk" when ready. Again, paying before food and service received equals no tip for food or service. Ordered the Eggs Benedict and an Apple Pie ish baked good. Server didn't even know what it was called. It was dished up in a togo container, even though I was dining in. For the eggs Bene, I asked if the hollandaise was house made before finding a table, she replied with, "everything is homemade", good answer. Seated at my table I attempted to eat said Apple Pie ish baked good. It was so hard I was unable to get a fork through the crust. Had to ask to have it put on a plate and warmed up. Once that happened, it was edible. Very good actually, just go a tad thinner on the outer edge crust and it would have been near perfect. Why it was not served hot and on a plate in the first place, I don't know. As I enjoyed my coffee, I had a flash back of the dumpster fire of a breakfast at The Star Bakery just 1 week prior and their god awful attempt at a cup of coffee. This coffee was however delicious and they brought me cream and sugar in case I wanted some. Waiting only 5 minutes, breakfast was served. Presentation was spot on, dash of paprika, micro greens, and an overall great appearance. Homemade bread, a thick slab of ham, not the thin Canadian crap, perfectly poached egg, this had all the landmarks of a delicious breakfast. I devoured the whole thing, it was in fact delicious. Room for improvement on the hollandaise, just a tad to much on the lemon juice, ease up on that, a hint of cayenne, and it would have been near perfection. Highly recommend this place. 3 stars is good in my book. They could easily pull 4 stars with some easy tweaks. Little on the service, not much on the food. Know what your baked items are called, serve them edible and not in a togo box. Make those hollandaise adjustments and boom, easy 4 stars. They are easy front runners in Madison county though with most other breakfast / bakery joints 1-2 stars.
