One of the worst doctor offices of all time!!…read more The receptionists are extremely rude and incompetent. They gossip endlessly about patients, even in front of other patients. They messed up my insurance and I had to pay a few hundred dollars for a procedure that should have been covered. I constantly waited over an hour after my appointment to see the doctor. Dr Mastruserio didn't seem like he knew what he was doing, and it took over 2 years of 'treatment' to find something to help my skin. Mid way through treatment I stopped going to his office because of the unbearable service and got a referral to a new doctor. Avoid at all costs!!

I was referred to this doctor via my functional medicine doctor. If I could give this review Zero…read morestars I would. The website states that they are taking new patients. It states on the website that before you can book an appointment you must: 1. Make an online patient portal account 2. gather all of your bloodwork etc. 3. fill out all of the new patient paperwork and questionnaires. 4. make a list of your supplements /medication I did all of this and left 4 messages over an 8 day period. No return call. The link on the website does not let you actually request an appointment. The office does not have a listed email. Someone finally answers the phone to rudely tell me they are no longer taking new patients. What a total waste of my time. She said I could call back in January of 2025 and see if they can take new patients then. But she certainly can't book me for January. What! I told her they have wasted my time filling out all of this paperwork, gathering my data, and I now have an account on their online patient portal. The front desk person was pretty dismissive. At the very least they need to update their website to not waste any else's time. since I can't send an email, and they don't seem to care - I am leaving my review right here.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kurpita's since before the pandemic. I have had in-office blood…read moredraws, seen the nurse practitioner and have had contact with MA's, billing, scheduling staff over the years - they all have been and continue to be nothing short of amazing. I called to reschedule an already scheduled appointment because I had tested positive for COVID - and just by the sound of my voice, the staff member (Mila) made sure I saw someone right away because of how concerned she was just by how I sounded over the phone! I had a televisit with the nurse practitioner within maybe 20 minutes of that initial call. They are on top of things for sure and I couldn't be more happy with any of the team or care that I get from this practice. This is an integrative medicine practice - so that means they are not a pill pusher, let's just cover symptoms with a Band-Aid type of care. They treat the whole person and, yes, that is with vitamins, supplements and, if/when needed, medical prescriptions. If you just want a pill to mask your ailments, stick with western medicine and trust your insurance company to decide what care is needed. I'm glad to be with a practice that doesn't go for a pill as the first line of treatment. Am I disappointed that they don't accept my insurance carrier any longer, of course - but insurance companies are a pain (and if you've worked for one, like I have) you know that many claims get denied for care that is needed or you have to jump so many hoops in order to "prove" you need certain treatments. I'd rather trust my doctor and her team and gladly self pay to ensure I get the right treatment when and how I need it. You can always use an HSA or just budget for appointments. There are times when I call the office and I go to voicemail, but I've always gotten a return call so it's a small price to pay to know I'll be properly taken care of. We are still in a pandemic and healthcare workers are overwhelmed right now in all settings. A little patience and understanding during these trying times goes a long way. I will also add that a few years ago is when my husband and I switched to this practice and he was having a few issues with leg pains and could barely walk in the evenings after working all day. Our niece, who was going to specialist after specialist, had a lot of the same issues and was already using a walker at 15. After reviewing his bloodwork, Dr. Kurpita was able to hone in on the issue, which ended up being genetic. Now my husband has fully recovered and is very active again and even cycles and mountain bikes again. We shared what we learned and my niece got tested and had the same gene - well, she had a full recovery following the same treatment! No more walker for her!! So nobody will ever be able to tell me that having the right vitamins or supplements doesn't work or is ineffective treatment, especially after seeing the changes in my husband and niece - you have to allow them enough time to work. I highly recommend this practice.

From the moment I checked in, everyone was warm, welcoming, professional, and genuinely kind. Jamie and Salatha were especially helpful throughout the process, taking the time to answer my questions and making me feel supported every step of the way. Dr. Bernacki was extremely personable and immediately put me at ease. He took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, answer questions, and share what to expect. I never felt rushed, and I truly appreciated the time he spent with me. I was also very impressed with his extensive knowledge and years of experience. It was evident that he genuinely cares about his patients and wants to help them feel more confident in their own skin. That compassion, combined with his expertise, gave me complete confidence in choosing him to perform my surgery. Another thing I appreciated was the informative brochure and written materials I received. They were well organized, easy to understand, and answered many of the questions I had even before speaking with him. Choosing to have surgery is a significant decision, and selecting the right surgeon is even more important. After meeting with Dr. Bernacki and his outstanding team, I feel confident that I made the right choice. I highly recommend a consultation with Dr. Bernacki and his staff to anyone considering a procedure. Their professionalism, knowledge, compassion, and exceptional patient care made this an outstanding experience. Thank you again for making this such a positive experience. I look forward to my next steps! Jacque

I want to bring awareness to this practice once again. Please please please stay away from this…read moreplace if you need major plastic surgery. I had a breast lift full abdonmenplasty and excess skin removed. The surgery was rushed and botched. After months of fighting the practice offered to fix it free of charge with no cost to the surgery center.. I was terrified to do this with him so it took me a long time to make the decision. I am having pain in my implants which were too small and never dropped. They sit in my peck muscle. I told Walter Bernacki that my private area now looks like a ball sack. He had the nerve to imply that I was so fat before we don't know what my private parts looked like. So not only did you perform a botched surgery you then fat shame me in your office. You then want to charge me for another surgery that I shouldn't have had after I paid you $30,000 cash. You still think I should come up with $2,500 to re do what you did. I explained I don't have that money and I feel like I look like a monster... revisions are needed I get that.. but I've had two other Drs tell me this was a poor surgery and I shouldn't look like this. I am begging you go somewhere else if you need to get under the knife of this Dr. If was making payments to his office for years this would have been done correctly. Now I have to go through the legal battle of getting this corrected. I was stupid to pay him up front. And then to be fat shamed. He and his office staff know they did this job wrong. I also had an abscess that formed contacted his office 5 times and I was ignored. I will not back down this time I don't ever want to see anyone else go through what I did. His office may beautiful but his work surely is not. And if I could post before, and after photos on Google, I would. My implants are still sitting like this after 1/10/24. I have been living like this for years and he thinks he did nothing wrong. After reading all of these horrible botched reviews it's scary that he can continue to do surgeries.

Much later, after both surgeries, when the billings began appearing, I discovered that the initial (mostly verbal) consultation, at which I furnished a written diagnosis and MOHS treatment plan, and lab results, cost me MORE at this Institute than did the original diagnosis by the MOHS surgeon who discovered and extracted the cancerous skin samples, removed a non-cancerous polyp from my face, and employed cryosurgery on three areas of my skin. 7 months after MOHS surgery at The Institute, I found the squamous cell incision area exhibiting an inflamed skin lesion, the basal cell incision area exhibiting a pronounced lump due to being sutured closed too tightly, and the Institute's billing department devoid of capability for handling my regularly-made payments.
