I've been in contact with him for months now trying to set up an insurance claim with him he will not provide insurance and try to have a payout as an alternative which he agreed to, and did not want to go through insurance, which I had preferred. Even though he agreed to do a payout so I can get my car fixed. He ended up blocking my number then blocking my husband's number. At this point we're going through our HOA to file a claim through his COI. He also did have undocumented workers on site which is why we didn't call the police in the first place because we didn't want any trouble with them, even though they tried covering up the damage that they did, due to the political climate right now. Just be noted all this was caught on Ring camera us and all of our neighbors have cameras directed to our cars and at least two cameras caught this. This was the worst case scenario leaving reviews on his business sharing this personal information but at this point, he is not caring about his business because he doesn't want to resolve issues so I guess I won't care about it either. I will, however, take any and all views down once the situation is taken care of, but until then look out for more on every platform. Hopefully the insurance works quickly or Parker gets back in contact with me or my husband to finally resolve this. And just to know the damage was very expensive. A whole panel needs to be replaced, a small panel needs to be replaced, my back windshield needs to be replaced, and the vinyl that I had on my back windshield. They continue to drop materials from the roof on my car without care. There is meals on top of my car and under my car as well. They did leave a note to move our cars, but we were on vacation for 2 1/2 days already before they even left the note. Also know that all my other neighbors did move their cars so all the spots around me were vacant where they could've easily dropped their trash from the roof that wasn't on my car.

He justified a higher price by guaranteeing he would be on time and he would be there to check the workers work. I had high hopes that I could leave the job up to him. I couldn't. I had to check on his work regularly because I found he didn't visit often and new crews would do different parts of the job and leave details undone. The job was finished later than expected which calls into question the higher price. The actual workers were great. Excellent actually. But the management of my job was pitiful, I'm sorry to say, Because everyone was very kind. Unfortunately, I will not use them again and would recommend looking elsewhere for a contractor that can manage jobs appropriately. From what I heard he had to much going on. My advice for this company is to take on less projects and do each job like it's for your mother. Be detail oriented, communicate a lot, and visit the property often to check the progress.

My experience with Tim is more in line with those reviews. I needed a kitchen sink replaced with one I provided and the board beneath the sink replaced. Tim quoted me originally at $725 but dropped it to $575 if I stopped looking for other contractors for the job and signed on with him. I agreed to this and paid him 50% of the full amount as a deposit to get my time slot scheduled. Tim did not return calls, and only responded to texts. Originally, the work was scheduled for Wednesday at noon. 20 minutes before the appointment time, I texted Tim asking if we were still good for that time. He texted me 2 hours after our agreed upon time that the roads were still icy and we would reschedule. Rescheduled for Saturday around 2pm. Tim did not arrive by 2pm so I asked if he had an ETA. Tim texted and said his plumber was busy with a job. We rescheduled to Sunday at 9:30am (today, at the time of writing). I would be the only job for the day according to him. Tim did not arrive at 9:30am. Texted him at 9:50 for an ETA. Texted him again at 10:40 to get an update, and no response. At that point, I was done. I asked him for a refund on my deposit, and have since not gotten a response. I took a chance on Tim and it is unfortunate that we could not work things out. Rescheduling is fine, being late is fine. Not communicating either of those until hours after an appointment is not. I would not recommend Tim or Smart Renovations due to lack of communication and poor management.

Timeline - Agreed upon schedule: * Start on Tuesday, August 20th - clear the lawn and set the form for the slab * Wednesday, August 21st - stain the fence and pour the concrete * Thursday August 22nd - remove forms and clean up Actual work (not a schedule - it was hit or miss) * Friday, August 23rd - came late in the day to stain the fence * Saturday Aug. 24th - cleared the grass and set the form for the concrete. o When he left he said he would be back on Monday to pour; leaving us with a mess and exposed rebar; not safe * Mon. Aug. 26th - Poured the concrete. The last thing he was committed to doing was to remove the forms used for our concrete slab; that was to be done on Thursday, a week after our original completion date. My husband worked to remove them today, Friday August 30th. Quality of work - I'm pretty sure a teenager could Google how to do this and do a better job. We requested a broom finish on the 9 x 12 concrete slab he built; the finish is more like pebbles and divots. Where the slab meets the existing patio there is a dip of about 1/2' , not safe at all. On the existing patio there are many spots/clumps of concrete. He broke a decorative garden item that is glass and not near where he was working or dragging the water hose or setting up the concrete mixer. Of course, we did not notice it before he left for the day and of course he has not returned. Job site clean up was a disaster because he did not show up to do it. Concrete and stone were left throughout our yard. I'm sure we'll be cleaning it up for months to come. We have found splashes of concrete on the house and the fence.

He has never charged much, and in fact with the first repair, I had to insist that he allow me to pay him. Because of his integrity and courtesy, I had him handle the insurance-paid replacement of a roof on one of the rentals that had Atlas shingles. After doing an initial, no-cost, inspection, he met with the adjuster on very short notice, and actually did the on-the-roof work for the adjuster while the adjuster stood in the yard below. Jeff and his crew put on the new roof, replacing more of the OSB than expected, and did some additional work at no extra charge. It looks great, and the tenants are delighted. They said he was very professional (which I already knew he would be), and he and his crew left the place really clean. I couldn't be happier with Jeff's work. He's very patient, his pricing is very reasonable, and he does excellent, high-quality, work. He shows up when he says he will, which is important. Now in the meantime, the settlement I got from the insurance company included siding repair. Justin received all the money that the insurance company gave me plus the deductible (total of $7,330). My house is mostly brick. Needless to say, I was convinced that the amount that I paid would cover the REPAIR of the roof and siding. That didn't happen.
