Sadly I had a fender bender with my older car that State Farm decided to then total over fairly minimal body damage. They were incredibly patient as I worked out the process with insurance, Katherine assisted in getting an appraiser out and getting me over to a rental. Tom helped go over my options with me and gave fantastic advice on dealing with insurance and the best option. In the end, I decided to pay out of pocket because of the issues with State Farm and rescinded my claim. I know I could have bought it back salvaged but I had my reasons. Tom worked with me on parts and fixing what was necessary to help with my budget. They went above and beyond and even helped to fix some dents on a panel I did not want to replace to make it the best we could. I got my car back and I cannot believe how great it looks! They also detailed it for free and I felt bad as I delivered it in quite a state having gone to Joshua Tree the weekend before with it so it was very dusty. Honestly you could not find a better body shop and I highly recommend them! They are honest and genuine, and the work is spectacular. I was recommended to them by Dan from NH Auto Repair who usually services my car and is also a great shop. Thank you thank you thank you!

I also inquired about some cosmetic repairs I'm thinking about making in the future & Tom gave me good estimates for those as well. L.A. has one of the country's largest vehicle populations, plus a car-centric culture, so competition between auto repair shops must be tough. It only makes sense for businesses to operate in a fair, no-nonsense manner & North Hollywood Auto Body is certainly one of them!

I brought my 1987 Buick Grand National to Khalil Algaar, the owner, for body and paint work. I was…read morepromised a professional, complete paint and body job for the full $8,000 I paid, but unfortunately, he failed to deliver the quality of work I was promised. After the work was completed, the paint began bubbling and cracking after only a few weeks. I gave the shop multiple opportunities to correct the problem, but after three separate attempts at repainting the vehicle, the problems persisted. At one point, Khalil believed the problem was related to the metal on the roof and was prepared to replace the roof metal because he believed that was the source of the issue. However, the bubbling was not limited to the roof -- it was present throughout the vehicle. After the third paint job, Khalil continued telling me he would finish the car and resolve the issues. I waited several more months based on those promises, but with no meaningful progress, I ultimately removed my car from his shop in the 11th month. I eventually had another professional body shop inspect the vehicle. They provided a written estimate of approximately $17,500 to strip the existing paint/material down to bare metal and properly redo the necessary body and paint work. They also told me the problem is most likely related to improper preparation and excessive paint/material buildup. After three failed attempts to correct the work, Khalil told me he would refund my money, but that refund has not been provided. I am now having to pursue legal remedies to try to recover the $8,000 I paid. I'm posting this review so other customers can be aware of my experience and make their own decision before having significant paint or bodywork performed here.
