I arrived around 2:20 p.m. and was let in by a worker at the front door, who told me they were closing shortly and suggested I head to the deli first if that was what I wanted. Once I walked in, however, a cashier yelled to me that they were closed. I was a little confused because I had just been let in by a worker who knew I was coming inside. From there, the experience felt a bit chaotic. There were quite a few people in the store, and I felt like the workers were very displeased by my presence. I honestly felt like I was a bother. I completely understand that I arrived close to closing, so I tried to be respectful of their time and rushed through the store to grab a few items. I had driven an hour to get there, so I wanted to at least make the most of the trip. When I went to check out, I initially got in one line, and the cashier was finishing up with the customer already there and directed me to another line, so I followed her instructions. I had a basket with my items and wasn't sure if I was supposed to empty it myself. There wasn't an obvious place to leave the empty basket, and the cashier never indicated that she would take it from me. I apologized and explained that it was my first time there. She told me that next time I should come during the week so I could browse more. As I was leaving, I noticed so many people trying to enter the store and being turned away because it was now past closing. That made me think Mazzaro's may want to reconsider its Saturday hours. They are clearly a very popular and well-known store, yet being open from only 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and being closed on Sundays makes it difficult for people who work typical Monday-Friday, full-time hours to visit. I take responsibility for not checking the hours before making the drive, and I understand that the employees were probably ready to go home. However, I still think there is a difference between enforcing closing time and making a customer feel unwelcome. Unfortunately, I did not feel warmly greeted or welcomed during my visit, and it put a damper on the entire experience.

I decided to go with them expecting the same experience but this was not the case at the end. My husband, fiancé at the time, and I went to the testing, Jennifer took care of us and we expressed our menu was going to be pork-free and it was reflected in our options, chicken and steak. About a month before the wedding they changed the contact person as Jennifer left the company. This cause a great deal of stress in me due to the fact that when I spoke with Maria she seemed that she did not have a clue if what I was talking about, regarding all the menu and specifics, I had already discuss with Jennifer and changed completely the quote adding a good $800 extra to quote. Come wedding day, first, I had nice matching silverware and the team decided to put the metal silverware next to the silver wear. Here the common sense was not used. This clashed with the decor. I remember mentioning to put the silverware next to the food so if people wanted to use those instead of the ones in the table they had the choice. Secondly, the caesar salad had bacon on it and it was pre-made. Once again, I was very explicit about not wanting pork in the menu. Half of my family ended not been able to eat the salad and I found this so annoying as I paid almost $2,400 for the services. Third, the head server approach me at some point of the wedding to ask me about the services and I told her how I was feeling and told her 'not great'. To this day NOBODY from this company has reached out to me for feedback. Needless to say they won't have my business nor recommendation in the future. Lastly, keep in mind it has been almost a full year of my wedding and I still feel strongly about it all.

Their staff members, Ice (lead server) and Dunia (2nd server) were absolutely awesome! They showed up on time coming to Venice, Fl from Tampa during very heavy "Ian" recovery traffic. Not only did they impress us with arriving with ample time to set up before guests arrived, they were very personable, happy, enjoyable and extremely efficient in serving and clean up. The food by Affordable Catering was absolutely amazing. The 62+ guests we had were thrilled with the food and service. Everything tasted so delicious, in particular, the Maui Chicken was a HUGE success. We received nothing but raves about the food. Thank you "Affordable Catering" for making our first experience an excellent experience. Marie Bentancourt, my sales associate, was also key in making our event a success as well. She worked very hard at satisfying my needs. She was very conscious of my concerns and had perfect suggestions to satisfy my specific needs. Thank you once again Affordable Catering.
