Had a video of the play and could clearly see it was worn out. Long story short, I replaced it and went about my day. Repairs here come with a 2 year 24k mile warranty. Brought my car in to change water pump, they did their inspection, sent me a list of things to fix. Then called me and said the car was ready but it was leaking coolant still. Said to fix it they would have to pull the engine ( that was a lie) then told me they found another fix but it was going to be an extra 2500. I looked up the fix and its taking the water pump back off and putting a tub in behind water pump. They should have seen the coolant dripping out of the weep hole thats right beside the water pump. Being a BMW "specialist" should have known it had a coolant line though the center of engine. They were going to charge me to do the job again. When I asked them why they didnt do a pressure test he replied " you told us it was the water pump". I am not a specialist but know to do a pressure test on coolant fixes. I drove it in and had to trailer it out........... the leak is worse. Will never use them again nor recommend to anyone. read more

Ridiculous shop. Told me they could swap out my transmission at 4500 for a replacement transmission. I told them that was way too high. I found another transmission in a donor car. They told me they could pull it and put it in my car. A few days later, Undependable calls me and tells that their mechanic was not comfortable with doing the job and that the tranny would not work.. I was tired of the Motard level of hillbilly games and took back both vehicles after paying for the tow. I pulled the tranny from the donor car and had A1 Thomas put it in which he did in 3 days. Summary. These assholes are crooks and scammers and are looking to cut your bag at the first opportunity. Also, the counter man sulked like a spoiled petulant little boy when i said no to getting ripped off. Avoid. Shouldn't even get a 1 star rating. I wouldn't trust this shop to find a peanut in a septic tank full to the brim. read more

Took a car in to fix a thermostat issue, which was fine. However when we got the car back, the power seat was in a different position, missing a panel and unable to move. We called and they said it most likely did happen there but we would have to pay to fix it because "it just happened to fall apart here." The mechanics were great and apologetic but the manager refused to fix what happened in their care. Don't recommend taking your car here because if they break something they won't fix it. read more

Dependable Auto has done prior repairs to my vehicle. I was not a new customer. Sept. 15, 2023, I put my foot on the brake pedal, and it went to the floor. Sept.18, 2023 I called Dependable Auto and spoke to Greg as to the brake situation with my vehicle. I carefully drove my vehicle to the shop, waiting in the lobby to receive a preliminary diagnosis and estimate. An employee came to me advising me that the vehicle had a bad master cylinder and brake booster. I gave them the OK to order the needed parts. Then I was advised that Dependable Auto would not be able to start the repairs until Sept. 26th. I was not pleased with the time frame being a return customer. I could not be without a vehicle while it just sat in their possession for 8 days. Josh (owner of Dependable Automobile LLC) did offer and provided me a loaner vehicle. The loaner back seat was not safe for anyone to occupy. The seat latch was broken so I could not allow any rear seat passengers for their safety. The door mirror control also did not adjust/move the mirrors. Sept. 27th, I received a call stating my vehicle repairs had been completed. I replaced the gas in the loaner and paid $965.29 for the brake repairs. I was also advised and received an estimate for the necessary replacement of a Rack and Pinion Assembly of $1,137.04. I did not agree to the pinion repairs and drove home. I was not pleased with the brake pedal. Sept. 28th, I returned to Dependable Automobile questioning the brake repairs. Greg and one other employee took my vehicle for a test drive. Came back and advised me that the master cylinder was faulty, and they would need to replace. Asked if the vehicle was test driven prior to returning? Dependable Auto kept my vehicle providing be the same loaner vehicle. The second after market master cylinder installed was also faulty so Josh advised he was going to obtain the part from Ford. Oct. 9th, I had not heard anything about my vehicle, so I drove to the shop. Josh advised they were still having intermitting failure. Oct. 10th, I received a call from Josh saying my vehicle was ready to be picked up. Still did not feel comfortable with the brake pedal questioned if I had to stop suddenly would the vehicle stop. Oct. 11th noticed two wet spots under my vehicle on the garage floor. Emailed and forwarded picture to Dependable Automobile. Oct. 16th paid for a second opinion from an independent shop. Was advised that the master cylinder was not working properly. Was educated just because the casing shows Ford it still could have aftermarket inter parts. There was no problem with the Rack and Pinion Assembly and no replacement is needed. Oct. 19th my spouse and myself had a meeting with Josh and another employee. Josh explained that the wet spots were from the overflow of fluid that was not cleaned from underneath. I agreed to allow Josh to take an extended test drive of my vehicle and return to the shop to clean the underneath. Josh told me that the brakes are working properly. The only braking system part that could still be replaced was the ABS. I advised Josh that the ABS dashboard light has never lit up. Nov. 6th my spouse emailed Josh at Dependable Auto asking for the FORD part number documentation on the master cylinder that was installed in my vehicle. Dependable Auto only would warranty for only year or 1,200 miles. Ford has no warranty time limit on a Ford made master cylinder. Mr. Underwood also stated in correspondence sent to the Attorney General office that there was a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) from Ford addressing the specific issue with the year and model of my vehicle. I requested the TSB number or contents so I could research. Josh Underwood ignored my requests for the needed documentation, so I contacted the Department of the Missouri Attorney General. After a lot of correspondence between me and the Attorney General's Office and the Attorney General's office and Dependable Auto some clarification was received. March 21, 2024, I received a copy of the documentation that Dependable Auto forwarded to the Attorney General clarifying the TBS. I read and had a shop owner mechanic review the TSB. If Mr. Underwood was a respectable business owner, he should have referred me to a Ford Service Center. The TSB he referred to addressing the specific issue with my vehicle stated Ford would replace/repair at no charge as long as within requirements. read more

I was in a pinch on Father's Day, a Sunday, with a blown tire and no one was open and I called Dependable automotive and Josh the owner, answered and immediately came to my rescue and was able to get me a new tire that was perfect for my van and change it on-site. He even had an easy way for me to pay on-site in the parking lot I made it into, was quick, easy and beyond kind and generous. I can't recommend this place enough, I only dealt with Josh, but he was an absolute gem. this place is special!!!! read more

I was down in the Camdenton area on a golf trip with a van full of people when the alternator decided to go out. I was able to get my van to Dependable Automotive where they were able to diagnose the problem and get me back on the road in a couple hours. They took the time to also do a quick inspection to ensure me we would be able to make the 7 hour drive home without any issues. I couldn't be happier with the service and the people, very helpful and understood my situation. If there were a button for 10 stars on this review I'd be hitting that one! read more

I give them 1 star and here is why. They hire young kids who I do not trust to work on a vehicle of mine. I have had things stolen from me and really don't appreciate the fact that my car has been there on the schedule for 2 weeks and was supposed to be done yesterday and it still is not done. Very unimpressed with this company. I brought my car in for an oil change and asked them to let me know if there were any other issues while they were changing the oil. I agreed to their $95 inspection fee to assess any issues. They will not do anything with your car till they charge this fee to assess the problem. Some other companies will waive the fee if you get some work done with them, but that's fine, I agree to the fee. After the fact, they tried to charge me double this fee, saying it took longer than an hour. Dishonest behavior. I then had to pursue them to give me a quote. It took them several days just to get back to me with a list of repairs they recommended. We agreed on a few repairs, amounting to approx $900. A few days later I ask how things are going with my car as I have now been without my car for a week. They say they are still waiting on parts. Ok. Can I have my car back so I at least have transportation? Turns out they have done absolutely nothing, not even changed the oil. I end up cancelling everything and just telling them to change the oil and give me my car back. By the time they were finished, they had my car for TWO WEEKS. This was the most time consuming and expensive oil change I've ever had. Would not recommend Undependable Automotive. read more

Horrible customer service and they had no interest in making the situation right. Told them I wanted a new "cat back" exhaust, just a single in and single out magnaflow exhaust running to the factory location. A new "cat back" should be new pipe, muffler and tip. All they did is hack out the muffler and replace then welded on a new tip and left the damn factory resonator and pipe which totally deletes the sound and point of getting an "exhaust" system! They kept passing the blame and told me the tech should have discussed it with me but refused to make it right unless I wanted to pay for them to hack at it again. I took off work to have this done as my Father's Day present, thanks Dependable.....wont ever be going back, can't find anyone who takes pride in there work anymore. JW read more

This automotive place is very dependable. I was broke down late afternoon on a Saturday with a four year old and a dog in my car. Called Josh the owner and he got a tow truck of his to pick me up even though they were right about to close the shop. By Monday afternoon my car was fixed. I couldn't ask for a better turn around time because I'm a single mom who just relocated here from Texas and I definitely needed my car. The price was reasonable and he made sure not screw me over.
