Overall service was great! Inspection done under an 1-2 hours and Jose told me everything that needed to be done with the car. Was transparent with everything, and if any issues arised got a call/text along with photos of my car while he was working on it. Would recommend! read more

dropped my car off for a simple oil change at 10:45am. Didn't hear anything from them for hours, I finally called them at 2:15pm asking for an update and just got hit with "oh uhhh so we couldn't get the hood open on this car, so we can't do this". Almost 5 hours later and I had to call to find this out, were they EVER going to call me??? It's a JOKE in there. Not to mention $125 for a simple oil change, way overpriced. Snatched my keys and took my business elsewhere. It's every single time with this shop. Will not return. read more

I can't say enough good things about José as a mechanic, business owner, and as a person. I recently bought a diesel Promaster van- needed him to do inspection and had a few issues. He helped me out promptly, was pleasant to deal with, and even made a house call after hours for a no start up emergency I had. Highly recommend. read more

My cousin recommended that I see Jose when I had my first problem with my used truck purchase. Jose took care of my car replacing my alternator. I then had a few more problems with my truck but Jose reassured me he would take good care of my truck. Ever since I've been bringing my truck to him, he is honest & dependable. Won't take you for all your money. I had him look to see all the problems with my truck so we could address them one by one & he did that. Were almost finished with the work 1 last thing & he's finished. I highly recommend seeing Jose for whatever reason you need your car fixed, he won't rip you off like a lot of other places. read more

I have to say the reviews here are true! I have an old car. I tried them out for an inspection and it was fast and easy, so I decided to return for other work I had planned to do on my car. Jose & Edison took care of my car and did a great job. They are fast, efficient, offer almost every service you could need, and are accurate and fair priced. I love that they sent me text reminders for my appointment, and sent me electronic copies of the quote and recommended service. You can approve or accept a service recommendation right from your phone. I was treated well and didn't feel like I was getting ripped off - which can happen a lot when you are a woman of color. They are also being responsible during COVID - wearing masks and unsung hand sanitizer. An A+ all around. This is my new mechanic shop! read more

I have found my new favorite Auto Repair Shop. I took my car in to get sorted and the workers were so nice and inviting. There was no attitudes which I understand because I'm sure they deal with all kinds of customers but it took a second to fix and I he did it and also gave a big smile and asked to back the car out because it was narrow. But listen I highly recommend them. Great personality. Knows their stuff and awesome prices!!! read more

I needed to get an oil change and check up on my car, these guys went above and beyond and got my car all tuned up...rotation, fluids, wipers, oil change..all in an hour. Great to know I have an efficient place to go to with my car that's in the neighborhood! Thanks again. read more

During this period of Covid my mechanic for many years passed away. Had to search for another auto repair shop/ mechanic to address several car issues. Went with Dependable after reading the reviews. I had a great experience. They addressed all my car needs, we're always in communication and did several follow up calls/ text to assure the car was running properly. Will highly recommend them! read more

I came here to pass inspection and fix what ultimately were a few major problems. Jose was extremely helpful. He prioritized the necessary problems I needed to pass inspection and to get my car safe all within a very reasonable rate. My car runs better than when I bought it tbh. I've been to several mechanics in NY the past decade and I can say with confidence that this is the only spot I will go to from now on. Highly recommended! read more

Jose always works fast and does an excellent job. I have went through 2 Escalades and always got good prices and won't go anywhere else. I was by Pep boys in Elmont Long island, and when I first heard noise stopped there. They tried to sell me tires and about $3000 of "maybe the problem". I drove my car, smoking engine straight to Jose (air conditioner tube broke, and engine belt). I prayed 20 minutes driving to his shop. He knew just from the sound the problem, popped the trunk and told me what I really needed to do & did my oil change $400. Now if he would have told me $3000, I trust him, because he tells you what the real problem is, and what to expect if you don't maintain your parts. He could hustle people but he doesn't, He is the way shops used to be, reliable and honest! read more

I bought my car to Dependable Auto Repair to fix my Air-Conditioner and two days later my car broke down in the middle of the street while on my lunch break.. I had to tow my car to Dependable Auto Repair because they were last to work on it, come to find out the mechanic (Jose) told me my alternator burnt out and I needed a new battery due to the Anti Freeze leaking onto the alternator. Then Jose said it wasn't the Anti Freeze that leaked on to the alternator, he said it looked like the car was driven into a paddle of water and water leaked into the alternator and that's what caused it to burn out.. That was false, I'm the only one who drives my car and I haven't been in paddles of water.. plus the alternator is located on top. I don't understand why he would assume something like that, meanwhile my air conditioning still is blowing hot air.. Once he came up with his assumption, I didn't want him working on my car anymore, I had to tow my car for the second time to my regular mechanic. Only reason why I went somewhere new was because my regular mechanic Air conditioner machine doesn't work. I understand things could happen but take some responsibility and making up stories is bad for business!! read more

My oldest daughter came to visit from Wisconsin with her car for inspection of her Honda Civic. Her time home was short so we needed to move fast. Honda had no appointments so we took the car to Jose. No appointment and even though he was full, he and his staff still took the time to inspect her and change her oil before her drive back to WI. While there, I told him about my husband's car (a minivan) that may or may not start so it was luck of the draw each time you tried. For months, I begged my husband to go to Jose to fix it...crickets. He kept denying anything was wrong until he the car stalled on him . He took the Sienna to Toyota and it worked...for one week! Paid over $900 for absolutely NOTHING! Finally, the hubs agreed to bring her to Jose. He gave us an appointment and thank God, it was fixed same day and we paid a third of what we paid Toyota. The Sienna is now purring like a kitten and has become "dependable" once again. For all you husbands who don't listen to your wives-LISTEN to your wives!!! I am so happy to say that I finally found my very own mechanic!!! Thank you Jose and crew!!!! read more
