05/14/2025 Denver Gazette Complaint- I first reached out to Denver Gazette News April 11th 2025 threw email: news@denvergazette.com from my email motivatedirishangel42@yahoo.com to ask for help and support and submit a story-line in hopes of things being published in the news paper,... What I was explaining to denver Gazette is that I am a resident who resides at a hotel-shelter in denver colorado I was placed in a room at the shelter that had the walls torn out in the room they placed me, in and the room at the shelter had asbestos, Black mold, and water damage done to the room and I was wanting there help with things,.... After this government news reporter Deborah Smith reached out to me and seemed like she was interested in helping me with the situation I am in,... I believe she was assigned to me by: Glenn Rabinowitz,..... Deborah Smith seemed like she wanted to help and work with me, she worked with me for a good 2-3 weeks then went completely quiet wouldn't give me updates for things wouldn't tell me when she was going to post a news article on things for all the information I was giving her,.... Because So much time has gone by with no amount of Support and help from Deborah,... On April 29th 2025 I contacted Deborah Smith telling her how disappointed I was in her services how I feel like we are not progressing getting anywhere asking what's happening I was hoping a news article would have been published, about a month later from when April 11th 2025 when I first reached out,... and not understanding where were all going with things,..... Yes you receive a special rate for the first year, BUT then they auto renew forever unless you remember to cancel by a certain date. All this is buried in their "terms and conditions " small print of course. It would be so nice to deal with a company that just sent out a renewal notice asking for your renewal without automatically charging your credit card the new and much higher subscription rate. Credit card companies should not allow these kinds of transactions. read more

I obtained a written letter from the Denver Gazette informing me that my rates have increased. This was my first letter from the Denver Gazette. After-which, I called the office inquiring if an account was made on my behalf. The representative informed me that an account was made under my name and I had been charged for this service for over a year. I explained that I never received the newspaper and requested a refund. I was informed that the paper has a policy not to provide refunds. I requested additional information including how my credit card information was obtained and was provided with account information stating that an electronic newsletter was being sent regularly to an email address not related to myself and that I allegedly signed up for this paper at Walmart, a store I do not frequent. I explained this to the representative and was again informed of the papers policy not to provide refunds. I was told that I should have contacted the Gazette sooner, yet again, I explained that my first contact with this paper was the letter I recently obtained in the mail. I escalated to a supervisor who informed me again of the papers policy not to provide refunds and was instructed to take it up with my financial institution. I requested that the paper be canceled which was verbally provided, yet the institution refused to provide written documentation of this. I fear the paper is involved with nefarious business practices and have read similar stories online. read more

This news service is easy to sign up for, on autopay, with renewals every 3 months online. Yet, they are hard to terminate, per their terms, with termination only allowed by phone. read more

One of their sales reps talked my minor daughter into signing up for their 90-day trial for $19. I called to explain how irresponsible it is to solicit from minors. The supervisor I spoke to maintained that they are a news organization and he was unapologetic for the actions of their sales person, who was claiming that her "donation" would help save journalism. The Denver Gazette charged me for the auto renewal of my subscription without any notification of any kind. I have moved from the city and am no longer interested in news from there. When I saw the notification from my bank of the charge, I immediately called customer service to explain the situation and request a refund. The representative Eric was rude , unprofessional and unhelpful and advised me that they would not refund my payment under any circumstance. No reputable business behaves this way. Not only is the practice of automatically renewing an account without any notice very disreputable, but refusing to refund the charge for a customer who doesn't want their service is adding insult to injury.
