This was all after a cleaning of my teeth was completed within a total of 10 minutes, where I was rudely shoved off for declining a fluoride treatment and mouth cancer screening. It is my right as a patient to choose which services I prefer. Not once was I asked what my reason for declining was, it was clear that I was rushed through the visit. Appt. I did everything that was required of me. But he doesn't give anyone permanent bottom retainers (bottom teeth most likely to move). And he only gives wimpy plastic retainers to sleep in. So my parents paid that man $6000 just for my teeth to end up being practically the same as they were before I got braces. The girls that work there are lovely, but that man is straight up rude. Once I asked him when I was going to be getting my braces off (he said prior that I would be) and he managed to embarrass me in front of the whole office shouting at a 14 year old girl saying he wasn't a magician. He doesn't respect women at all. When my mother or grandmother would go with me to my appointment his was rude to them as well, but when my dad came he was nice to him. Pathetic.

Both dentists are very kind, gentle and proactive. I always feel like I'm in good hands and that both dentists make good recommendations for my dental health. The dental hygienists are always excellent and so are the dental assistants. Our family has been with this practice for more than 30 years. Even though it can be difficult to go to the dentists, this practice makes it a lot less stressful. i have also heard them work with young children, and they are kind and gentle with them. Also, I know that Dr. Cartwright has young children of her own.

I had a very unfortunate experience with South Court Dental that caused me to leave the practice…read moreafter 10 years of being a patient. The problems began after Dr. Esterberg retired and Dr. Cartwright took over the practice. At my regular checkups, Dr. Cartwright repeatedly told me that I needed THREE crowns due to fractures in my enamel surrounding some aging fillings. I'm in the 40's and have never had any previous dental work, except for fillings. I'm also a cancer survivor and concerned about long-term affects to chemo, which they say could cause nerve/root damage. So, I thought this may be the reason for the alarming need for three crowns. I moved forward with having Dr. Cartwright replace one tooth with a crown. The experience took two separate attempts that spanned over 6 weeks because the porcelain crowns from the lab wouldn't fit. However, the second crown, which also didn't quite fit, was made to fit by hand-shaving part of the porcelain AND part of the perfectly good adjacent molar to make my bite more comfortable. During the 6-week long ordeal, the temporary crown popped off repeatedly causing me to come back and forth to their office to have it reinstalled (or remade) so I could tolerate eating and drinking in the interim. Following this long, drawn out experience, I was very reluctant to move forward with the other two crowns. I decided to get a second opinion from another dentist and it turns out that I DIDN'T need two additional crowns, after all - only filling replacements. Had I listened to Dr. Cartwright, I would have lost two perfectly good teeth AND paid a pretty penny in the process. Needless to say, she lost my trust and I'm no longer a patient. This is all very unfortunately because my children and I thoroughly enjoyed dental hygienists Ursula and MaryAnn, who provided us with exceptional, friendly care for than 10 years when Dr. Esterberg owned the practice.
