There was never anything like this kinda place when I was growing up, and I'm glad there's…read moresomething now. There's a few Dentists in town that accommodate young ones nowadays. But I looked at Big Sky's website and decided to give it a go. It was easy to find, not far from the hospital hill and in an easily accessible location. Ample parking. We walked in and were greeted by nice friendly and smiling staff--you have to be nice, you work with children. Anyway, so theres of course an excellent play area with lots of fun toys to keep the wee ones happy while waiting for their turn. Paperwork was easy and fast. We got taken back to the chairs and they are an awesome bright lime green! Pictures are encouraged. And if you need to do anything to help your kid you can do it--hold their hand, sit in the chair and hold them, whatever you need to do. My boy is 2 years old and so it wasn't too early to bring him but just right. I would expect that some kids do better than others, but mine seem to handle it fine. They have a TV above their heads to let them watch, with headphones, letting them pick whatever show they'd like. Each one is given cool sunglasses to protect their eyes from the bright light and toy to choose at the end. In actuality, all the distraction was a little too overwhelming to my kid and he preferred to watch the TV while still being able to hear everything going on. It was also easier for him to follow instructions, like open your mouth, stick out your tongue, spit, etc. Each tool was explained completely before being used on him, which is the best course of action. He was allowed to pick out his own toothbrush and then asked to demonstrate how he brushes his teeth at home. In reality, a lot of the visit was for me--to know how to better brush his teeth and what kind of toothpaste to use and all of that. They counted his teeth and allowed my wee one to participate which he enjoyed. The doctor came in and assessed his teeth, gave us more pointers and basically said "come back in 6 months" soon, he'll be getting X-rays. My little guy had some stories to tell and enjoyed telling everyone how he went to the Dentist. Which leads me to my next discussion--why are people afraid of the Dentist? There was a, probably 17 year old girl in there checking in who actually wasn't afraid, it was her mom that was freaking out. I don't get it. Don't project your fears of the Dentist or doctors or hospitals or whatever onto your kids! Let them create their own journey if you're the one that's freaked out. And second, why are you so afraid? Now, I've got good teeth, so maybe I can say that easily, but even my husband with bad teeth doesn't dislike the Dentist. So...lesson is, be chill dude. Don't worry about it. And please go to the Dentist!

They are super patient and very kind. The office it very clean, and recently updated. It's bright, cozy and welcome. They offer coffee (many different kinds) and tea. They have built a wall in play house area for the kiddos, filled with toys and the little guys and gals seem to really like it. By far the BEST dentist office in Kalispell for the kiddos and the older kids with disabilities!

We had called a few other dentist in the area and none were able to accept us on such short notice and accordingly to our schedule. Fortunately, we found this clinic who was willing to do an urgent exam and treat my sons dental pain. Dr Cattron was super sweet and friendly. He explained everything so well and made my son feel extremely comfortable. He prescribed antibiotics and even followed up with his cell-phone number if we needed further care during our out-of-state trip. Chealeen was the assistant who was very kind and pleasant. In fact, all the ladies at the front dest were all very helpful and helped provide paperwork we needed to file for billing reimbursements. The entire group seems to work well together and communicate with each other very well. They all made sure our needs were met! To top it off, Dr Cattron wanted to do an X-ray on the tooth & considering we were traveling & paying out of pocket, he didn't even charge us for it. Would definitely recommend this dentist to anyone in the area!

I took a call from a lawyer while in their lobby (before we went in to the exam rooms). I also took a picture of my grandchild in the exam room. I took the picture of my grandson because they handed him a dentist on a stick for a contest they are doing and said it was to take hold up and take pictures of with the child where ever they went and post to their Facebook page. I thought ok, we will start with the dentist) Instead of explaining to me their policy of no pictures in the exam rooms at the time, they trapped me and my grandchild at the exit of their clinic and demanded my phone from me so they could delete the picture. When I said no and said I was leaving they stood between my grandchild and me preventing us from leaving. I felt very threatened and intimidated by them. Then when I cancelled future dental appointments there (after I scheduled the appointments for my grandchildren with a different dentist office) they reported me to CPS for cancelling the appointments at their office. Worst dental office experience EVER! My grandson was very upset by the time we left even though the dentist himself did a good job of the actual exam.

Hate dentist offices? How hard can a hygienist push down on one's jaw with their alternate hand?…read moreThat's why I don't go to this office. However, I recently called this office for a vivid image of my nerves that the doctor showed me. That technology is amazing! The receptions don't seem aware of what patients view and definitely need training on listening instead of assuming and lecturing. Patients aren't required to give a reason for wanting their records. They kept asking me why I wanted them. I told them it is my private information and that I didn't need a reason. Felt like a HIPPA violation that they repeatedly demanded it from me. It is my private information. I don't need a reason. Receptionists at doctor offices don't need to know and are not required to know. Then, the receptionists opened my chart to read and lecture me on who to call regarding my dental diagnosis from years ago. Again, felt like a HIPPA violation. I didn't ask them to do that. I didn't give permission to read my chart. I didn't ask for this extraneous info. Done long time ago. All I wanted is for the same image as the one that was shown to me there. Instead, they needed nosy reasons and were nosily reading my chart.

I highly recommend this office and doctor. Nate
