Getting edible food would have improved our experience. After waiting 45 minutes for a brisket sandwich and a salmon salad, our food arrived. The salmon was overcooked and sitting on lettuce with 3 tomatoes. It was sad and tasted dry and fishy. My husband's brisket was dry. After expressing our displeasure, they took the salmon salad off. Really?????? I didn't eat it, so thanks! No offer to cover the brisket sandwich. Left very unhappy and I felt that they didn't care at all. read more

Three of us went there for breakfast two days ago. We waited for 20 minutes before we got water, then we waited another 35 minutes before we got food. When we got our food my friends over easy eggs over hard and my Philly steak omelette had sausage in it. I am allergic to pork therefore I was unable to eat my food. I was not willing to wait another half hour to 45 minutes for me to get another meal cooked while my friends were done with theirs. They are way understaffed and their communication with each other is not good. The waitress we had was apologetic and took my food off of the bill. read more

We have given up. We used to stop here frequently in our travels. Food and service has been usually satisfactory to pretty good, the only exception being inconsistent cooking of "over medium" eggs, which I sympathize as being a challenge when you have other things on the grill. Lately, however, there have been big problems, such as "no meats other than hamburger", or, "sorry, no breakfast fruit". That last one nearly killed this place for us - we were checking out and saw the server bring another party a bowl of, yes, breakfast fruit. WTF? The servers knew we were regulars, too. The crowning blow was the last non-visit, "We have only one cook. It will be a 45 minute wait." There were maybe four parties in the place. Our response was "we could be in Quincy by then", and we left. Found a nicer and more interesting place, and there you have it. We eat out a lot, and Denny's in general is usually a reasonable default for a moderately-priced meal. Given that experience, I respectfully suggest that Denny's corporate needs to either bring this unit into line or shut it down. read more

My family and I got seated and we got our Drinks right away which was nice, we also ordered our food, but we waited an hour for someone to say "did you get your order in?" My father was not happy, we ended up not paying for our food. Other people that showed up 15 minutes after us got their drinks and food before us. Our waitress forgot about us. Don't go there at all. Never again. I do see that on other reviews people got their food and had great service, but did you see the other people around you getting service at all? Was worried when I read the reviews but I stopped anyways.. was seated quickly. Order was taken within 5 minutes of sitting down. Then the fun started.. there is a guest sitting at the bar with a fly swatter killing flys... she doesn't work here and I'm unsure why she has a fly swatter or why the staff isn't stopping her... she is killing them left and right... all over counters and walls Fly killer leaves and then the waitress warns us there is only one cook so it's going to be awhile but it will be good... this is a small town in the middle of know where... guessing find more then one cook is a challange! The guy sitting next to me gets his food and discovers it's not what he ordered... it's a piece of chicken... like just a cooked breast and he ordered chicken fried steak. He eats it anyways and says nothing. There are stacks of ketchup everywhere in the case still. 20 minutes and no sign of my food... not nervous yet.... So guy next to me gets his ticket and it says grilled chicken... says "huh must have been my fault" 25 minutes no sign of my food yet and my cokes almost gone. There are only 12 people here eating so the place is not busy at all. It's been 25 minutes and no sign of my food.. hopefully not a sign of things to come! There are alot of flys... it doesn't help it's 110 plus outside with the heat index! Well my order is up and sitting in the window! The cook must be caught up because she brought me my food. It took 27 minutes but it looks good! Waitress made some small talk and refilled my drink! Nice gal! I ordered the All American Slam and was not disappointed. The worst Denny's ever, and I've eaten a lot of denny's. We sat in the back section, it took 20 minutes to even get our order in, then another 30 for one part of our meal to come out. it was my salad and it was wrong. As a trucker we are used to waiting at a shipper or receiver but to go into a Denny's and have wait for a waiter or waitress to let you know you see is very bad. Then to be forgotten and have to get the waitress of her Celphone to get an order take and something to drink and when they do come you get an excuse that is a Flat Lie. We stopped here on our way home from Iowa. It was 2:30 in the afternoon, the restaurant was not busy and we had a party of 7 (6 adults plus 1 small child). Immediately we got the feeling that we were not wanted. The so called manager finally greeted us but acted like she didn't have a table big enough for 7. Apparently moving two 4 tops together was too difficult. Once she lead us on a maze journey through the restaurant, we were finally given a table. Along the way, we passed endless dirty tables. Once seated we were told that she needed to find us a waitress. We then overheard her say to the waitress "I had no choice but to seat them there." We saw our waitress glare in our direction as if we were an inconvenience. It was just baffling. Apparently not a single employee felt like working. Once she took our orders, it took 45 minutes to get our meals. They seriously acted like a party of 7 was a party of 15! I felt like it was a complete waste of time. Had I known that we would experience such poor hospitality, we would have kept on driving. We were also not given a choice in smoking preference. And as soon as our food arrived, the table next to us decided to light up. I'm also 9 months pregnant with a 3 year old son and I didn't appreciate either of us having to deal with smoke. I had the misfortune of eating here on a Friday night, I highly doubt we will be back. Upon entering the restaurant, we weren't greeted by anyone. We actually waited for several minutes, watching employees walk by and ignore us, until someone actually stopped to seat us. We were sat in a booth, and although I asked for non-smoking, I could still smell cigarette smoke. It was absolutely awful and gave me a headache. Plus we were sat right next to a dirty, uncleared table. I would have rather not stared at someone's half eaten burger and dirty napkins. The person who sat us told us our server would be with us in a moment and left. It was probably ten minutes until our server actually showed up and inquired about our drink order. She came back and took our food order. I ordered the chicken strip dinner with macaroni and cheese and broccoli, while my husband order the t-bone and shrimp dinner, medium. It took around an hour for our food to make it to the table. My sides were cold, and were sent back. My husband's steak was overcooked, so we sent that back as well. He also did not get the shrimp that came with the meal. The second time our food came to our table, my husband's steak was horribly undercooked, and was sent back once again! Finally, on the third try, the steak was medium enough for my husband's liking, and he received the shrimp. Our food was mediocre, at best. We left our table without our check, as we didn't see our waitress after she dropped off my husband's food for the third time. We told the cashier about our experience, and she apologized, but didn't offer us a discount or anything. We didn't see a manager in the restaurant while we were there. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. You're probably better off getting food from the gas station next door. read more

My girlfriend and I were excited to go to a restaurant to eat with everything opening back up. We decided to go to Denny's. She ordered a buttermilk honey chicken tinder sandwich with no pickle, and a side of seasoned fries. She asked if seasoned was an up-charge from the regular, and the waitress said no, so she got those. I got the country fried steak, with a side of seasoned fries, and onion rings. I doubled checked again that the seasoned fries were not an up-charge, she said no. We waited a short bit, and received our food. I was satisfied with mine, but she had some problems with hers. They had put pickles onto her sandwich. She originally decided not to complain, but it got ridiculous with how many pickles were on it. They ended up taking 20% off of hers. She hates pickles so we would've rather had hers completely taken off, but fine. Everything seemed okay after that, other than my having to ask for refills of our drinks. Well when we got the check we learned that all was not fine. They charged us $0.50 for each of our sides. It was then that she realized there was a black hair on her plate, while both of us are blondes. We went to pay and asked for the sides to be taken off, our waitress consulted her manager, and then said that they were supposed to be up-charges. Her manager then came over and we explained that the waitress told us that they weren't up-charges. They took $1.00 off for this, but did not take any off for my onion rings. We didn't even say anything about the hair. This was an unsatisfactory experience. read more

Most of the time this place is a wonderful spot to road trip with some friends to and have a nice sit down meal. The food is an easy 8/10 but it isn't that hard to mess up bacon! The waitresses tend to be very good but tonight wasn't really the best I've ever had, the food takes a long while to make, having a party of 4-6 may be the cause of that. The food doesn't always agree with me but that's a me problem, the food had a wide variety but offers such a nice classic outfit of choices- However with the large party orders the staff tends to make at least one mistake every time I come here. the pricing sometimes can be very painful to see after a well enjoyable meal. Being charged 2.19 every glass of sweet tea is a bit over the top after I payed 6.99 already for a meal. Overall a good service, just had one of the lesser waitresses tonight it seemed. read more
