Ok it has gotten ridiculous how bad the food and service is. Been coming here for 8 years but no more. I have never saw such unprofessional conduct. One waitress literally slamming and slinging stuff around the other waitress is yelling at the cook. I was quite surprised that the one waitress was acting like that because she is usually super fake nice for tips. The only wait staff that's worth keeping is the very nice gentleman with the tats on his eyelids.( I'm bad with names) food was wrong of course and had to send it back. Best staff! I always hear about how Dennys sucks in other cities. Here in Los Banos, they're super friendly, and the food comes out great. Especially if they're not swamped with customers. Hostupidity... rather leave tables empty than sit parties that are ahead of other large parties, I took a look and there were 5 scattered Empty tables and a lot of people waiting, they had to sit 2 parties of 7 and had a lot of 3 or 2 whom could have been sat, I called a manager, the short, heavy set lady with glasses came chewing gum which was very unprofessional, I explained to her the situation and assured me they had a system, I was sat and saw a 4 top being empty for 10 minutes before they sat a party of 2 that had been waiting almost as long as I had, they could have sat them immediately which was my point. Came in with two elderly ladys and the host didnt even look at us. Finally sat us down and after 30 mins a waitress came and asked for our order. In my day the busboys helped out with the drinks and someone always came by to greet you no matter how busy they are. Very poor experience and we havent even gotten our meal. On the positive note, the waitess when she got to us was very efficient and the food was good. Emma didnt even need to write down the order and everything came out right and she knew exactly where to put the four meals. Well done Emma. My father and my aunt never received their food, then when they brought out "our food" it wasn't even the right order. Customer service was absolutely terrible. This Denny's is the one my family uses to grab food on our way back from the coast. It's normal Denny's fare, and it seems fairly clean, So I can't fault them for that. This last time (August 10, 2013) was pretty irritating. We walked in, carrying our sleeping children, around 1am. We stand there, waiting for a seat. The place has three tables of guests eating, and a waitress looks up when we come in. That's it; she looks up. She doesn't smile, or direct us to sit down or say someone will be with us. She just looks at us like, "Oh. More of them hungry people. Why do they keep showing up here? Am I supposed to communicate with them?" So we find a place to sit on our own, lay our kids down in the booth and wait. They finally figure out that we're new and a waitress, Terri, comes around to take our order. (She didn't tell me her name. I heard other people calling her.) Our drinks and food get there (my husband's order is wrong) and as I'm asking the waitress for something, she completely ignores me because a large group of anout 20 teenagers show up. Literally looks me in the eye and moves on to help them. Awkward. She seats the teenagers and then never checks on us again, other than to wordlessly drop our rolled-up check on the table. A different waitress noticed us and helped us out, and I wish we could have only tipped her. I had the amazing privilege of watching an overweight, acne-ridden teenager eat 5 plates of pancakes and numerous jelly packets in about twenty minutes. (DUDE: Baby bites! You're not there with a girl because they're all afraid you'll swallow them whole.) Jelly Packets continued to steal food off of other people's plates and swallow crumbs that had fallen on his shirt and the table the entire time we were there; I actually found myself silently mouthing, "What the hell?" several times, while also finding myself unable to look away/praying that my sons never got to that point. Today the service was great! It was moderately busy and I still got my food within 5 minutes of ordering. The waiter (Carlos L.) was amazing and very helpful. Always asking if he could do anything else without being fastidious. The food was delicous and a good price. The restaurant was clean ans had a friendly atmosphere. Will definetly come back. The only drawback is parking. There arent enough parking spaces. read more

I am writing a review based on a complaint that I saw on facebook today. I am putting it up because the person speaks Spanish and does not know how to do it. The client went in to Denny's and made a complaint to the manager, now the 2 employees whos names are Kristina and Susan started being racist and made fun of their daughter because of the skin color. The rant kept on going and they started saying she was illegal which she is not and that they will call ICE on them. They said that when customers complain we don't get in trouble we just make fun of you later. I just submitted all the evidence to Corporate and I hope these 2 ladies and the manager if she/he did not do nothing about the situation get fired. This should not be acceptable in any place of business, work, school and etc. It seems this is not the only racist incident here! read more

We left and went to country waffle. They sat us in section where girl was busy with big party she was so busy we didnt even get our drinks. No order had been taken 15 minutes into us waiting. We asked to move to other side but hostess said she needed to seat other customers there that had came in 20 min after us. Ok let's see why this place got a 2 star..should be 1 but since I've been to other good Denny's, that's why I gave it an extra star. 1. Went in. Host didn't seem to inviting when he went to seat us. I understand you hate your job but at least make the best of it. 2. Server. Attitude attitude attitude. She wanted us out of there and we can tell by her behavior. She pretty much was rushing us. 3. There was a dead fly on the window sill that we were next to. Not to mention live ones flying around. Not something I want to see when I'm gonna eat. 4. The food. My daughter's food was a joke. It look like it was just thrown in the bowl and we didn't even get the bread that came with her spaghetti. And the amount of fries was near none. It was skimpy as heck. Not to mention, our server was one huff away from slamming the plates on the table. She served it to us like nearly throwing it at us. Seriously?! Ugh! 5. Our area was filthy. Under the table, it was filthy! Didn't even bother cleaning the table after the last guest left! Jesus people have some pride! Over all experience was just bad. Went on a Saturday evening for dinner. We weren't acknowledged when we came in. Everyone was standing around waiting to be seated. When we finally got seated it took forever just to get our drinks. They only had one cook there and the quality of food he was sending out was horrible. It took about 30 mins to get our food after ordering. The waitress kept walking by our table saying "I'm coming right now". Between the waitress arguing with the cook about how a customer wanted their food and the cook leaving the kitchen to watch the football game that was on, my daughter's macaroni and cheese was hard, cold and lumpy with burnt pieces. The bowl was only half way full. My nachos were all chips. I only ate 5 chips that had anything on them- I counted. It was my daughter's birthday and they did nothing for her. Even after I said "it's her 10th birthday, let's embarrass her!" I don't know why the manager of this place doesn't do better. Get more staff and send out better quality food before this place gets shut down. I don't know if I'll give it another chance. I doubt it. read more

Literally the worst service ever! Took forever to get our food, and our waitress was drunk as hell. She was talking to her friend about guys being sexy and how it's so hard to be as pretty as she is. Really wish I would have read all these reviews before stopping & eating at this Denny's!! So we stopped by on a late Saturday night to grab a quick bite. Have you guys ever had dinner inside of a porta-potty!??? As soon as we walked in it literally smelled like Tijuana!! We could smell the sewage from our table. Menus were extremely filthy, falling apart, and missing pages. To add to the disaster I went into the bathroom and my gosh did it stink, diapers were falling out from the trash, floor was gooey wet, AND there was NO SOAP in the dispenser!!! No soap at all!! How are we suppose to wash up, let alone the employees whom handle out food & drinks. Probably could have enjoyed the food more if I didn't have the thought of dirty hands handling my food. Visited Los Banos this weekend, had dinner with the family at this location, but it was a bad choice. It took long to get our coffee and they were cold, our soup was cold, they had to warm it up again. Steak was cold and their only excuse was that there was only one cook that night, but it was not a busy night. Service is horrible, waitress did not even come by and asked if we needed anything else. I highly suggest if this is what you crave one night to not even think of this as an option especially this location.. my family and I stopped here on our way home from a trip, hoping it would be like any Denny's but to our surprise it was the emptiest I've ever seen hoping to be attended quickly and on our way. It took my family and I to be seated about 10 minutes(keep in mind it was empty so nobody was busy). We went on ordered and our food took nearly 25 minutes to come to us because the employees take 10-20 minute breaks to smoke outside. Keep in mind we were the only ones there, about 3 employees and all would go out to take a break together ( another young lady was starting her shift while we were there and pretty much clocked in and walked out for a smoke break???) In the nearly 45 minutes that we were here the employees disappeared about 4-5 times. Very unprofessional of all of them. Just passing through. My daughter had her heart set on Denny's. There are better choices in Los Banos. The poor reviews must be shift specific because our visit was a typical Denny's experience. Minor cooking details kept it from a 5 star. Don't burn the toast! My daughter stated the breakfast sausages were bad. Not typical Denny's. We came about 10 AM on a Friday. The food service here was pretty fast, accurate, and friendly. Maria served us with a pleasant attitude and showed concerned for our wants and needs. A minor discrepancy in our order was happily dealt with. I could not ask for much more except for the fact that waiting for a table was excruciating. I'm thinking due to the lack of servers and line cooks. Denny's is a family favorite and this establishment deserves to be a 5 star experience. Management is at fault as the workers did show their customer service potentials. Even they looked embarrassed of the waiting time of 8 groups with about 8 open tables waiting to be used. I'll come back farther in the future to see if the proper scheduling of workers are accounted for for holiday celebrations. Today was Presidents' Day. No excuse if you know how to manage. read more

Went to Dennys for Breakfast @ around 5:30am. Husband ordered a coffee right away. The waitress took kinda long bringing our waters and his coffee. Then the breakfast came. Hashbrows crunchy. yuk. Anyways, the lady only brought my husband one cup of coffee the whole time. When she finally, came back to ask him if he wanted more coffee she smelled of a freshly smoked cigarrette. And for the kicker, they sat us right next to the restrooms when there were other seats available. The janitor had the doors open and it reeked of urinal cake. I wanted to puke as I ate my food. Then when we sent it back instead of bringing a fresh warm bowl of soup they obviously just nuked it- as her crackers still soggily swimmed in the nastiness. i go to this Denny's alot in the day their are two servers that have been there a long time and give great service. i went there tonite at 1 am and there was no one in the front to seat me for 5 mins. so i guess i have no prob giving my $ to some other business who wants it the help should go to the Santa Nella Denny's on the graveyard shift and take lessons. i think the owner is the same person. i guess i can see where it would be hard to find good help in the toilet read more

Dennys here is great but depending on the day they have more help than other days what I have learned is restaurants always want to please the customer. Nicely tell them your unhappy with the food they will make it right. You might have a new cook in training but you never asked. Be polite your server your cook and the manager are only human, but will never know it unless you tell them your complaints nicely. Everything is better said sweet then sour.
