We stopped at the Denny's on Tropicana and Eastern, we have visited that location on several occasions and never had an issue...but today we did. Two of us shared the Zesty Nachos. My son is allergic to tomatoes so he wanted to order the chicken strips with French fries that he usually gets when going to Denny's. After searching the menu for a while the waitress told us tha they have changed the menu and now they have is a whole meal with an appetizer and another side dish. My son explained that he was not looking to so much food and just wanted the strips and fries. The waitress told us that if he didn't want the whole meal he could have the strips and fries for $9.95. My son happily ordered that. After we finished eating the waitress bough us the bill and we realized he has been charged the entire amount of $13.99. When we called attention to the waitress she picked the ticket and said she was going to have it corrected. Promptly she returned and told has that that was the price and no correction. My son talked to the manager who was very arrogant and told my son that that was the price and he was not going to changed, he tried to explain that he didn't order the entire meal and was told that was his problem! and that we had no understood the waitress correctly. This particular Denny's is located by the Strat in the decidedly more speedier part of the Las Vegas. It is not far from the Strat and offers exactly what you would expect from a Denny's. Denny's is a chain restaurant that tres to capture that old-school diner ambiance and for the most part succeeds in capturing that vibe. Myself, my husband and our kids decided on this location last minute because of the location being in our neighborhood. Bad idea. Customer Service from the manger on down to the servers TRASH. We came in and were seated pretty quickly. Asked for a high chair for our little one the host said "the manager said NO" .. wellll okay. Then .. nothing. No hello, no drinks, nothing. For 20 minutes. If our kids weren't already settled we would've left. Then comes our server. She takes our order and disappears again. Several minutes later.. coffee for us, nothing for the kids. 10 more minutes later, kids drinks. We watch as everyone came in and was served hot coffee and hot food immediately. We then watch as our order comes up and just sits there. It was actually hilarious at this point. At the same observing our server help everyone while excluding us. We finally get our food. Two medium steak and eggs for us. Three birthday pancakes for the kids. Everything was cold obviously. the kids didn't care so we let them eat. We couldn't even cut the steaks so those got sent back. We saw the staff sing a special birthday song to another guest, and another employee went out of their way to give us lemons for our water, while our server was assisting another customer. Let me surprise you! This was goood, honestly, truly, good. We stopped in around dinner. We had a party of 4. We had 2 Belgium Waffles, country fried steak, and a double cheeseburger. Everyone's meal was good. It's was hot, it was tasty, as it came out fresh. I've had a bad experience at Denny's near the NyNy side of the strip. It's been around for a while, and although the main thing is to get food there, this one actually surprised me; Let me explain: This location is behind the Strat, and has two entrances. Upon arriving I was greeted and immediately seated (they had hand sanitizer pumps) They have virtual menus for those who prefer to not touch anything physical. Staff was wearing masks and seemed jolly. The waitress was very polite and quick. After we ordered the food came fairly quickly which shocked me (Dennys NEVER gets your food quick) They were also fundraising to get food for kids in need of food and they actually did a little performance for the audience (every 30 minutes) The food was great, and the speed was fast allowing me more time to enjoy my vacation. Minor, but efficient things can be improved are bringing condiments (or at least asking) like the ketchup, sauce or napkins. Also distancing people from tables, there was a gentleman who sat at the table next to ours. Even though it was a double table and he sat farthest from us, it still uneasy being too close to people especially when not wearing masks. Beside those minor improvements everything is great!
