We were there during a Cards game, and the bartender,David, actually came out and found a place for us to park. Who does that today?? Then we got a chance to meet the chef, Samantha. She's from New Orleans and brings a NOLA menu that's as good....if not better, then anything we've had in the Quarter. Then, it was fun trading music stories with the owner, John. Overall, the best brunch we've been to in a long time!! Now.... let's talk food: - The pulled pork tamales are the best I've ever had. The pork was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. then it was covered with great chili, two over medium eggs, 1/2 sliced avocado, and chopped onions. I was in heaven. The biscuits/gravy was good, but the sample of their red beans and a sample of gumbo.... was better then I've ever had....anywhere! And then their was the beignets. Again...better then Cafe Dumonds! The crowd was diverse in terms of age and race, but most people were in their forties. The backup music wasn't too loud (great for conversations with your group, less great trying to hear the music while you were singing). KJs were engaging too. The bartender was very nice and efficient. There wasn't any hard cider. It's more of a well drink kind of bar and drinks are reasonably priced. Women's bathroom was clean. There are large free parking lots nearby, although one lot was temporarily closed because of a huge baseball glove in the parking area.

I was happy to attend but in my opinion the singer and back up dancers came up short. The band was amazing and I could have crooned to them all night. I decided on vodka and cranberry and a moscato, hubby got budlight , and we still had to come out cash for an upgraded brand . Food was being ordered from Panera or Drunken fish. Not interested and a light appetizer available in the hallway. Not interested as well. Venue was very packed . Bring your own snacks and drinks, enjoy the show. I was super confused on all of these things our first time around, but now I see others bringing small coolers, they know the words to the songs, and they all had their seats because we had to get a little creative with our random chairs that we plucked out of the audience. Fortunately for us, a couple left and we had real seats for the second half of the show. Both weeks were phenomenal musicians that made me feel like STL has some real hidden talent. A fantastic intimate venue that I look forward to visiting in the future.

My husband and I are swing dancers…read moreand had seen Miss Jubilee in our hometown of Cincinnati, so when we decided to get married in St. Louis, they were our first choice for music for the reception. They were open to trying some new things for our crazy first dance idea, and they played a wonderful selection of music that kept our guests dancing all night. We got so many compliments from people asking how we found them and many more from non-dancing guests who just loved listening. The live music added a tremendous energy to the room - I am glad we took that path. They also made great and professional MCs for the reception. We used the band breaks to DJ music more commonly heard at weddings. We had a fantastic experience, and I can't wait to hear them again!
