Relative had surgery here, everyone was great with the exception of the Clerk for Suite 350. When I asked her for an update on my relatives status, she informed me she was done and going home. I said how can that be, they just took her into surgery and she's supposed to stay overnight. . Her attitude changed and she said I didn't know what I was talking about and she did. Ok, I just got done talking with the surgeon. This woman had a rude attitude, and aren't these folks have some compassion? She must have been one of the ones striking and yelling obscenities at patients going in and out. I was appalled. She also could have informed me there was a relatives waiting room just for people waiting for there loved ones in major surgery. Plus, this Clerk gave me incorrect - false patient information, hope it wasn't the first time. read more

Wow! How just plain bad this is. Tried to get I to my portal unsuccessfully. Called the phone number that is posted for help. After waiting for two hours for a call back they tell me that their tech support no longer has St. Vs as an account. She tells me to call medical records which I do only to get a woman in a totally different state who tells me I need to print out a form and send it to the address which might be on the form....she doesn't know. This process took hours and since no one from medical records is at the hospital I have NO WAY to retrieve my online chart which I really need now. read more

My partner X experienced intense abdomen pain as if he'd been kicked. This high level of pain lasted for a full 18 hours. It then subsided somewhat, but did not go away. After over a week of abdominal pain we called into his health care provider, which is based in Boston, to find what to do. They gave him three local-to-Worcester clinic names which had ultrasounds. X called all 3 - none of them had a functional ultrasound for various reasons. He called the health care provider again. Now the health care provider told him to go to St. Vincent's ER as it was closest. X called St. Vincent's ER to confirm that he should go in with these symptoms. St. Vincent's ER said yes, you should come in, and be prepared for a 4-hour wait. X arrived at St. Vincent's ER at 4pm. After a half hour, he was checked in, and after another half hour or so, a nurse took his blood pressure. The blood pressure was EXTREMELY high - above hypertensive crisis levels (above 180/110) - which is very unusual for X. He thought maybe it was a mistake due to how quickly everything was being done. Due to his pain he could not sit and instead walked laps around the room. The room was packed including a COVID patient who was put into a nearby space. No updates were provided as to wait time. It was not until 10:30pm that his name was finally called - 6 1/2 hours. He was moved into another room and told a doctor would be with him soon. Another hour passed. Finally he saw a doctor at midnight and explained his symptoms. The doctor said they'd do bloodwork and an ultrasound. His blood pressure was taken again. Again, it was above hypertensive crisis levels (above 180/110). Blood was drawn. X then waited in the room for two hours. The nurse returned and said the blood had been hemolyzed during the drawing process and was unusable. More blood was drawn. Again, the blood pressure was taken and it was quite high. It was now 3am. At 4am a strange new doctor came into the room. He said the bloodwork all looked perfectly fine and he was discharging X. We asked about the ultrasound. The doctor said the bloodwork didn't indicate any problems, so no ultrasound would be done. He handed us some papers. We asked about the extremely high blood pressure. The doctor said it wasn't life threatening (????), so go talk to our PCP. The doctor was very brusque and dismissive. When we got to the car I looked through the paperwork. It didn't have any record at all about what blood tests were done or even about the blood pressure level. It only had the basic name / birthdate information and the time X was admitted. There was a generic sheet about abdomen pain. We called the ER the next morning to ask them to please send the values from the blood tests. The ER said they can't do that, we have to call Medical Records to get a copy of our own records. I called them and had to **FAX** a request. I did. Weeks later, we still don't have the data. Our PCP did get a copy separately, and it turns out the bloodwork showed low potassium levels which can cause high blood pressure. At the ER, we were NOT told that. We were specifically told the bloodwork was FINE. To summarize: We had explicitly been told by our health care provider to go to St. Vincent's ER due to the serious nature of the abdominal pain and the ER's proximity to us. We even called the ER to verify. We did what we were told to do. We then had to wait 8 hours before seeing a doctor. After two rounds of bloodwork we were brusquely ejected without an ultrasound for the actual issue - and we were told the bloodwork was FINE despite it having low values directly relating to the HYPERTENSIVE CRISIS that X was experiencing. We weren't even given the test results to address the issue ourselves. I was in absolute shock, the entire ride home, that we were driving **away** from the ER in this medical situation. Even now, a few weeks later as I summarize this, I am in shock that this is how an ER would treat a patient in such serious abdominal pain that he cannot sit down and who is in a hypertensive crisis. read more

Nothing in life is more irritating than when a billing dept. contacts you with a price that is significantly lower than the price presented to you from your healthcare insurance provider. Prior to being rendering services at this location, I was contacted by billing and was presented with the amount of $738.72 as well as a request for payment. Mind you, this is before being rendered services; hence my insurance had not yet been billed. Aggravating, I know. Then, when I go check in, the same amount was listed in their system; and then after being rendered services, an estimate w/ that same amount was sent to me via USPS; with a request for payment. Meanwhile, I decided to go and check my claim through my healthcare insurance provider and I see an amount of $1,684 for the same services; as the amount of my deductible. I call my insurance and inform them that I was presented with an amount that was less than 50% than the amount displayed on their portal; only to be told that that is the accurate amount that I will be responsible for. So what happens next, you ask... I file a grievance through my healthcare insurance and then contact the Attorney General's Office; even though I know deep down inside that not a damn thing is going to change what has happened. I wait to hear back from either or; and below and behold I hear back from my healthcare insurance provider with the lame explanation of: " In review of your grievance, I brought your case to the attention of a SVH Patient Access Operations Director, who appreciated being made aware of your concern. The Director stated that you were provided an estimate based off the CPT code that was going to be used during the procedure. The Director stated that the estimate is subject to change if the provider in question uses a different service code (CPT code) or adds any services..." Ok...let me start off by saying... that in the world of business, I have witnessed estimates being different by either 10-20%... and the differential is usually written on the estimate to let the customer know. In this case, the amount was over a 50% difference and nowhere was it listed that the amount could be significantly HIGHER... Also too, where it was an "estimate" then they truly had no flippin' business requesting payment in the first place. Seriously... the poor business displayed by the billing department is unbelievable and the fact that they can get away with, what other companies cannot, is repulsive. I mean, would you allow a company to bill you a price that is significantly higher than the price you were originally presented with? Would they not have to honor that lower price? I thought so... So with all due respect, what makes this situation any different? It may be the medical field, but it's still a business...and well the same rules should still have to apply... Needless to say... I am not in the least bit impressed and if I have my way, I will be taking my medical needs elsewhere in the future. read more

My second hip replacement here. I CANT SAY ENOUGH. WHAT A STAFF! Nursing services? AMAZING! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Even the food has improved. Different experience. I had a smaller room which made it challenging to move around post anterior hip replacement. That said, the nurses couldn't be more attentive, professional, compassionate and caring if they tried. Nurses. They are a different breed. A different kind of humanity. Beautiful people. Incredible service. They used to give you a menu to order your "in hospital dining"... but years of data show that there is more waste that way. But the offerings weren't gross (for hospital food), AND if you don't want what they bring you, they always have fresh fruit, toast, cereal and milk. Not bad. My Dr. Christopher Vinton is a herd of cats meow and then some. NEED A HIP? Don't even THINK about it. Get your butt over to Dr. Christopher Vinton and then St. V's and get the job done. I am a " frequent flyer " at St. Vincent Hospital and I have always received excellent care except for one time, my nurse was a bi**h, very very unprofessional !!! I know how hard it is to be patient when you are in pain but the staff at St. Vs are always running around trying to take care of so many sick and injured people. I think it is terrible when I see a person who's attitude is " I don't care that the person in the room next to me has 3 broken bones, my throat hurts and I demand to be seen NOW " !! In June 2023 I went to the Emergency room at St. V hospital, I waited 5 hours to be seen, I went in with severe dehydration and had not eaten and or had any water in 24 hours, and was spitting up blood. There were not enough nurses working to support that Emergency room. With said I have made it to see a doctor. The doctor in the ER told me I needed to see a GI doctor so I decide to check myself into the hospital. I finally made it to a room 8 hours later. I was able to see the doctor on the floor that had agreed that I needed to have a GI test done. At noon time we asked where we were on the list to have the GI test done. The nurse called down to the GI lab and found out they were closed until the following Monday, she proceeded to let me know that so we had the on floor doctor paged so I could talk to him, his response was not appropriate, he told me that he sent a text/email to the GI doctor and he had not gotten a response, and I guess to him that was no big deal. I do understand that my situation was not life and death but I do believe that I should have been important enough to have better communication with the doctor. But what floored me was the fact that there was not a GI doctor on call. How can you run a hospital and not have a GI doctor and a way to get testing done as an Emergency? Also I called my own GI doctor before the ER and he was on vacation so I had to go the ER and the service was the worst I have ever had at this hospital. If the hospital does not have enough people to mange a hospital what other option do any of us have. read more

My step father was sent here and suffered. He was sent home with no service after being told he had more than 6 months to live and passed within 5 days. He experienced undue suffering because of this hospital and I am truly disgusted by his lack of care. Understanding the nurses are on strike & they are short staffed - regardless, Saint Vincent Hospital almost killed my Mom. She went in because her blood pressure dropped unexpectedly. Then she got a blood infection - then she got pneumonia. The staff on duty lost her $3,000.00 hearing aids, which we are still waiting for reimbursement on. I call weekly to check & get the same thing - it's in accounting for processing. Meanwhile my 83 year old, completely deaf Mom can't hear. Mom cannot afford another $3,000.00 for a new set! I visited with her every week - the room was disgustingly dirty, the floors were filthy (have photos, but can't get them to upload) Equipment in her room was dirty, don't think they ever cleaned her room in the 4 week stay. She was never showered when I saw her? Really? Yup, 4 weeks she was stuck in there - suffering from delirium and her skin was completely grey, everyday "we're trying a new med", however the report was "your Mom is doing great". A 5 year old could have known something wasn't right! I felt like she was used as a guinea pig. What a nightmare - I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. I am 100% sure if we didn't get her out of there, she would have died. Update: 11/1/2021 - I reached out privately as asked to do by the representative that responds to these reviews & crickets!! Got nothing - like I expected. If my mom doesn't have the reimbursement check by the 10th of November, we're consulting legal counsel. read more

I was a patient on the 3rd floor 36north i was admitted for several issues including my heart. I took a walk around the floor with my wife as per instructions from the Dr. When I got back toy room a few minutes later my nurse Alexia cane in the room and asked us if we saw a fellow employee's purse. The way she asked us made us feel as if she was accusing us of taking it. Her attitude was terrible towards us at this point. I guess the person misplaced the purse and ended up finding it. No apology to me or my wife. I left the hospital the next day against dr orders as the nurses all grouped up together whispering etc extremely unprofessional. I will NEVER go back to that hospital. was a paient brought into st Vincent ER on January 6th 2023. As like most hosptils are these days they were "busy". I was removed off the stretcher and assigned a wheelchair. In T3 which is a spot in the triage area. It was close to 8 pm when that occurred. Then I was transfer to T 5 and placed on a stretcher. It was now around 9pm.  Shortly after a Pyhsican assistant named Rachel last night I will keep private but I do have it for formal documents. Talked briefly gave me three cups of ice water and told me to drink up. Then she left. Time pasted a dr dowd came to speak to me we spoke very briefly before he was interrupt by a nurse to look at something. Dr Dowds words were excuse me I will be back.. he did not come back till at least 1250am. But prior to his return Rachel the PA came back to discharge me. She made statements like what did you think was going to happen. I said well I thought the doctor would have return to finish the conversation . I asked her if he was coming back . And other questions to which she accused me of being abrasive and inturn threw what was the discharge papers and stormed off . My vitals on arrival were given to the nurse. They took my vitals once through out my whole experience.  I was on a monitor and my oxygen went to 89 and there was no one there but the er receptionist who was doing her own form of complaining because she had to work the whole shift out there without a nurse. I have surgery there on Monday does that mean that they are going to sit a receptionist at the head of my bed for monitoring as opposed to an anesthesiologist.  My confidence with any type of medical care is dwindling. I am sure there are certain protocols in place when someone presents for altered mental and might have even been potentially allergic given my exsensive allergies. So I asked for a copy of my notes and the documents that use to track what is going on with a patient . I was told that I could not have that info. But I then said in your handbook it states that is a paients right.  So the nurse type quickly that I was being monitored by er staff. That was not true until I spoke up for myself. Maybe it's time piaents rise up and challenge nurse doctors and PA for their lack of care. Maybe we need to rise up and challenge in accurate reporting that has also gone. I will obtain every sing document in my chart because I am sure the story will have been fabricated and in turn will label with what ever label they want to attach to me. My body size and the use of intoxication were words used to reference me once I stood up for myself. Please if you go to St. VINCENT ER always have a witness when a prescribed medication cause you and adverse reaction that you took exactly as prescribed. Also I would recommend looking over your medical.bills closely. I also think it is medical fraud what happened yesterday. Stop using the Covid cruch. We are all tried of covid. I will be following all of this up with a formal complaint to state. Until please paient of St Vincent ER bring someone as a witness and document everything.. be sure to get names..titles.. cause your only source of medical care might be a receptionist. read more

I applied for a full time social worker position on 2/21/222 and since things are pretty tough out there, I decided to also follow up with a phone call to HR that very same day. They said a recruiter will contact me if they are interested. I was very happy when I received a "text" message from an HR Recruiter by the name of "Arthur" inviting me for an interview the very next day 2/22/22 at 10 am!!! But to my big surprise the interview never happen because Arthur never called me at 10 am. So at 10:30 am I call HR and leave a message for Arthur trying find out what happen. At 12 pm I finally receive a "text" from Arthur apologizing for missing the interview, asking me if I would be available next day 2/23. I of course text yes immediately and so the next day comes...and guess what???...NO CALL FROM ARTHUR FOR A SECOND TIME!!! Arthur now sends again another "text" apologizing AGAIN or not calling and continues to NOW text me for the next 3 hours like I have nothing else to do with my day. Said he will contact me when the hiring manager returns from being out. What was even more aggravating was that the text he was sending me were not complete sentences. He would leave his text in mid sentence and I would have to request for him to text again because he did not finish what he was saying or the sentence....and I could not understand anything he was writing. I finally just text back that if he could call me, I said thank you and to please let me know when we can reschedule the interview. I couldn't understand why this guy is choosing to text me for 3 hours instead of making a PHONE CALL!!! But I guess he heard my thoughts because Arthur calls me hours later that evening, but of course I end up missing his call. AND THAT WAS IT!!! I NEVER HEARD FROM ARTHUR EVER AGAIN. I eventually called HR again requesting to speak with Arthur but never got a call back. Time passes and its now March ....March 21, 2022 to be exact AN ENTIRE MONTH AFTER THE ORIGINAL CONTACT WITH THIS ARTHUR ....and I leave a message with HR asking if a recruiter other than "Arthur" could reach out to me. And guess what?? I get a text from "Arthur" same day March 21st....saying he received from HR information "to reach back out to" me... So what does "Arthur" do???....AGAIN what does "Arthur" do....he sends me "uncompleted text" playing stupid games. The guy sends a text which I am sure he could READ and SEE FOR HIMSELF HE DID NOT COMPLETE!!!!! That sounds like "Arthur" is playing games again. Now frustrated..... because for weeks I've been dealing with some guy who obviously is sitting in a very cushioned job playing games with me... and I'm now tired of his childish unprofessional behavior...I decide maybe if I reach out to upper management maybe they could connect me with a recruiter that knows what they're doing. So I leave a message for a Ms. Anita Holbrook. She's suppose to be some HR manager/district manager.... or something....at least that is the name I was provided. ......Anywhooooo I leave this Anita a message saying that I was following up on my application and that a recruiter by the name of "Arthur" got in touch with me but it seems he likes playing games because he never quite actually interviewed me. If perhaps there was a more " competent" recruiter or a different recruiter that could reach out to me to clarify if their hospital is interested in my application or not.... since I am still very interested in their position. And guess what???...NO CALL FROM ANITA EITHER. I GUESS ARTHUR AND ANITA must be related...... Here I am desperately seeking employment and trying to apply for a social worker position at St Vincent Hospital.... To boot I am an UNEMPLOYED military combat VETERAN SO Hey Mr. Arthur Recruiter!! great way to treat our military veterans!!!! ....NO WONDER this hospital has such HORRIBLE reviews if the hospital can't even complete in a normal professional matter the initial interviewing process for an applicant...thats Just insane!! My wife and I were treated with kindness and compassion from the doctors, nurses, administrative staff, security staff and even the transporters! was @ Vincent's hospital very ill. The nurses didn't want to clean or help me with my diarrhea. The nurses act above the patients. I asked a nurse to help me, and she continued walking bc as she said, only the nurses' aid helped educate the patients. She ignored me and didn't haven't the decency to get me help. So I'm standing with diarrhea all over me. They accuse me of yelling, and for that, they did not want to attend to me. I had my boyfriend do their job. This doctor's didn't take consideration knowing that I suffer from panic attacks, PTSD, and anxiety. They have no training to deal with diversity and that there are other ways to deal with people of second language. The doctor called the hospital police. They wanted me to sign papers against my will. The police kept pushing me against a wall. that's called assault. When I tried to push him back, he told me not to touch him. It's okay for nurses' doctors and police to mistreat you. I have the right to be treated with dignity, and this is not the place. I tried and will make a complaint for the police touching and pushing me with his belly. Hopefully, they will handle it, although they told me I had to wait until Monday. Nothing gets done in time. These nurses get paid for talking in their cellphones. read more

Had my appendix removed several days ago. Was in and out in the very same day. The incisions are healing nicely, and the surgical team did a great job both with the task at hand and keeping me as comfortable as possible when dealing with such intense pain. Everyone seemed friendly and helpful. The building was clean. I would prefer not to need to return, but if I do, I'll be confident in their ability to help. read more

Unfortunately it was a weekend stay so getting released was a chore though I'd put that on management and not the staff, or lack of it on the weekends.. A nurse wheeled me out to car after surgery, but I was not wearing a mask. I had a mask on when I went into surgery. Can't comment on wear it went before I woke up as I was under general anesthesia, but I know I was moved from one section of post-op recovery to another without a mask on. A nurse brought a wheel chair into my room to bring me to the car. She's pushing me toward an elevator when I realize I'm not wearing a mask. I asked "Should I be wearing a mask?". Her answer "You're not wearing a mask?". My answer "No, I'm not wearing a mask". Wtf? If wearing a mask is a requirement for entry into a hospital, shouldn't it be a requirement for also exiting the hospital? read more

While the care was good but their billing is very bad. I went to Emergency room back in November of 2020. At the time they didn't take my insurance information. They soon contacted for this information We played phone tag until I gave them my information in mid December. I got a bill in for 7.4k which shocked me because my insurance wasn't charged. I talked to them again and was told that I didn't owe anything because it was Covid related. I was shocked and happy about this. Knowing their could be issues later on I asked him to make a note in my billing file, which I learned later on he didn't. 15 months later I got a new bill it for my visit with a new payment date. I contacted Saint Vincent hospital again about this bill. This is when I found out that there was no note in my billing file. I had to go through my call logs to find out when I last talked to them because they never noted when I called them. I got my call logs and talked to them again. I explained what happen and the dates when I talked to them previously. I asked again for them to make notes. This time they did but put in wrong information. I was told they will try and bill my insurance but I got a call in today,4/19/2022, saying that I agreed to pay at the end of March. Which I didn't, they said they will change the billing date so that I won't be bothered while they tried to work with my insurance. The person I talked today was basically saying I was lying and was misremembering. Why can't they go back and listen to the previous calls, check they own call logs and see that I talked to their people. This is insane to me. read more

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE...if you can avoid going to St. Vincent's, then please do. The hospital is filthy...carpets are stained (every inch of them), there is dirt & dust along the bottom of the railings and there is scattered litter. My mother has been admitted several times over the last two years and each time is more harrowing than the last. I leave after each visit feeling dirty. And the food is inedible. My mother needs to gain weight but she cannot eat the food so we are bringing her outside food everyday. Every other hospital I have been in has been pristine. Isn't that one of the basic tenets of a hospital? Cleanliness is absent at St. V's. DO NOT GO! read more

I just want to say I had to bring my mother , also known as my rock , my world to Saint Vincent's today to the ED , my mother was having a few complications I drove up to the Emergency room door, ran in and the very nice security guard assisted me right away , I explained the situation and he said he would get someone to help me right away , well he did , I wasn't able to catch his name I wish I did so I could thank him as well , but a nurse came out of a side door and assisted my mother , I was a little upset when they told me I could not go in with her ,but now that I have calmed down I understand their reasons. Damn ( covid) but anyway I gave my mom her insurance cards and pocketbook and asked the nurse what happens now ? What do I do ? This is my mom, I don't want to just leave her , she needs me , she reassured me she was in great hands , she got my mom out of the chilly night weather and came back out ,as she saw I was upset I couldn't be the support system I wanted to be, she gave me a number to call and asked for my number and told me she is good hands. My inner self was telling me different but what choice did I have ? Soooooo...... an hour later an ER nurse really called me back telling me some info . Also told me they were keeping her overnight to do more testing and they wanted to observe her more, also said they would call me back as long as I didn't mind if it was late , ( which i obviously didn't). Got another call from a nurse at approx 130 am on November 12th her name was latisha forgive me for the misspelling but she was wonderful, she was amazing actually, very professional polite and understanding. I had day surgery 1/6 at Saint V's...EveryThing was good Except the billing rep that stopped by my pre-op bed Demanding payment. She was unclear, unhelpful and rude. The front desk of the endocrinology unit of this hospital is horrible. You can't reach anyone there, (even to just get a refill of a prescription) and if you DO manage to reach them they will put you on hold and then never pick up. Also, there is some sort of weird automated system that sometimes will pick up that doesn't provide any helpful information. I tried to leave a message with the automated system and no one returned my call. I then tried to use the portal to request a refill and no one has responded there too. Completely incompetent office. This is the fourth day without my medication, and still no response from them. Think twice before seeing anyone at this hospital because you might not get your medication refilled. read more

I went in St Vincent for a knee replacement and all the procedures went fast and with ease.I had a very good experiment with the hospital. The nurses and the orderly's were very nice and took care about safety. I love the hospital,with the Atrium waterfall and the pharmacy is easy to get to . Delivered my daughter here recently and had a great experience. The staff was accomodating to my (fairly bizarre) requests, professional and caring. I have a special place in my heart for St. Vincent's. They took great care of my Dad during the hard years of his fight with cancer. I think I spent more time in the ER with him than at work that year. We would watch the hustle and bustle of the dept as he laid there taking his IV of something he needed that particular time, talk about when I was a kid and laugh and yes cry. The beautiful atrium with all the trees is just the right thing to have for all the stress going on as all hospitals have. Sometimes someone is playing the piano and it goes so well with the waterfall among all the flowers. They have a pizza and sandwich shop along side Dunkin Donuts for whoever doesn't want to eat in the hospital cafeteria and yes that wonderful DD was my savior.. All in all as hospitals go, St. V's is up there in my opinion. They took great care of my Dad with kindness, patience and respect. For that it's a 5 star. read more

Both Dr. Izzo and Edward McInerney are superb neurologists however I was floored at how poorly I was treated at the opticians when it was so busy when all I wanted to do was busy lens-cleaners which are purchased in the opticians shop. I knew exactly where they were and just asked that even though the optician was so busy that the little-boy attendant direct me to them so I would not have to stand in line unnecessarily and/or block others from getting fittings yet they just wanted me to stand in line and wait totally ignoring the fact that I knew exactly where the product was and so did they yet they were unmoved to sell me them in a jiff because others were there. This is my first time ever writing a review. However, this situation warrants our input. My husband and I had an unfortunate encounter with 2 nurses (Kathy and charge nurse, Nicole) on unit #35 today 9/20/20. Our Aunt is in the palliative care section. Due to the Covid pandemic we have not been able to travel from California to the east coast to be with our Aunt. This is frustrating in and of itself. We are both Registered Nurses working in Calif. As a Director of Nursing myself I have had the privilege of being on both sides. Having to say goodbye to a loved one is never easy. Under these circumstances it is almost unbearable. The physicians and ICU nurses have been courteous and sympathetic during this difficult time. However both of the nurses mentioned above were not. Since she was transferred to palliative care we wanted to know exactly what services were being provided to her. We were informed by Kathy that she is on a morphine drip and they were turning her every 2 hours, I asked about her wounds, (she had surgery the end of May and her wounds never healed). When I was told they are not doing wound care, I proceeded to tell her my understanding of palliative care and Saint Vincent's palliative care are not the same. The conversation immediately became hostile, after a few choice words from Kathy she hung up on us. When the charge nurse Nicole was informed she scolded my husband and myself saying we were rude, without even being a part of the conversation or inquiring about what happened. She totally took the nurse's side. As mentioned I am a nursing director and obviously protective of my nurses. However no matter what I always want to hear both sides. Needless to say we are EXTREMELY disappointed in the treatment we received from a place where compassion is a must!!!!!!! read more

This is a review of the courtyard only. Took my sandwich to the tables in the courtyard. Admittedly, it was a late lunch, around 2PM. Not sure whose responsibility it is to police the tables, but I tried to find a clean table to enjoy my food. ALL of them had crumbs or food stains on them. Disappointing considering how good the sandwich was. Hospital overall otherwise looks clean, bright and modern looking. Atrium with garden is a nice touch and very relaxing. My wife needed to return about three years after her last ER visit and I wondered if my high review would still stand. Is their care consistent or were we just lucky before? Answer: Yes, indeed, it still stands as a five star. We were given every courtesy, admitted within a reasonable time, saw a nurse within minutes and then many times since, saw a PA and two MD's. They were understanding, compassionate, thorough in reviewing information and history, and made the best choice. All questions were addressed and next steps were recommended. Out of curiosity, I looked at the reviews for ERs from Worcester to Boston and they are all low. It is my guess that the reason for low reviews at ERs is because of one word: expectation. Perhaps ER users expect something much more personalized and faster. But this is not concierge medicine. It is not your longtime personal physician. It's not even a walk-in urgent care. It is not there to care for your overall health. It is an emergency room. Their only role is to treat your emergency, stabilize you, and move you on to the next level of care as soon as possible. Your case must fall in line with the urgency of others demanding their need. I have learned that if I enter an ER and expect it to take around six to ten hours, that is the norm. If it takes an hour or so to be seen and if you get to walk out out within five or six hours, your emergency has been tended well. The St. Vincent ER does a superlative job with emergency care and compassionate attention for their patients. No one wants to go there, but if you must, adjust your expectations to reality and be grateful for the excellent staff working through the night. read more

He diagnosed a long running condition,always takes time to answer any questions and make me feel comfortable..The other doctors in his office are great too and his office staff is always extremely responsive and helpful!! read more

They saved my life, in conjunction with Radiology, and have helped in many ways, working as a team. Parking is great, doctors, nurses, other staff are great. Location is beautiful. Their discharge office even helped me with insurance, which was a major step in my health care. Thanks to Dr. Sidari and Sue, Dr Peters & staff, others whose names I forgot. read more

Had a very positive experience today at St. Vincent's Hospital. Mom had some surgery. The pre admission team, surgical team and post op support were all amazing. Special mention to Dr. Philip Lahey who was amazing. Great valet service and a pretty atrium with free wifi so I could work and spend my 10 hour long day. read more
