Could also do the other path that heads closer to town/houses. Not too uncommon to see wildlife either (ie: deer, geese, turtles). They also have ice skating in winter when the lakes freeze over. Parking is pretty easy and in a few spots. As other notes, no bathroom here which is the biggest issue. Otherwise with how accessible this is, it's a gem.

There's a large playground with sections for older and younger kids. They have swings that can hold two people so kids can swing together or an adult can swing with a little one. You can walk around the base of the dam or take the trip up to the top to see the water and view from above. There are steps you can climb on either side and one side also has a paved inclined path that's stroller friendly. Either option is definitely a workout, especially the steps, but it's worth it for the views at the top. You can walk across the entire dam and capture some nice photos. There are convenient public restrooms in the park. You can also connect to the Bronx River Parkway walking/biking trail, which is fully paved. They have a ton of festivals and cultural events throughout the year. Parking is free. Lovely Westchester gem.

It's in front of a development that was Edge on the Hudson before there was Edge on the Hudson (so much for the hype there). Views of the Tappan Zee bridge and Hudson River are unavoidable which is a very good thing. Decent amount of walking paths and benches, in addition to the dedicated picnic area. Plenty of parking although it is paid via the Tarrytown parking app. Playgrounds are a bit dated but in great shape. Everything has soft, spongy ground around it. Good variety for different ages too. Haven't done the splash pad yet because it's winter but it is pretty sizable. Good amount of kids around here without it being overwhelming. Maybe not the most built up park in the area, but my toddler loves it and so do I.

And recently this year, I started exploring the NCT and SCT after a quick loop on the BRP. A portion of the trailway in Ardsley look like under construction (gravel) and I believe is part of the SCT. This is where I first started exploring this trailway and just rode 4 miles north for I am not yet familiar and not sure what to expect. On my next rides I gained some confidence and started exploring further north and was able to reach Yorktown Heights border. I should have started this back in mid-summer but was so focus on the BRP loop which help me improved my laps time but I am not in that pro category... yet. I recommend this trail for cyclist/cylcing-lovers and who loves nature's beauty in Westchester. I am impressed on the improvements that were made in the NCT yet be still on the lookout when you cross the roads specially by Briarcliff Manor area. Alway make yourself visible (use lights) and be corteous to the joggers and fellow cyclist.

A beautiful view of the shore and a nearby bridge from the park benches, especially during sundown. There is a small playground nearby as well for the kiddies but a word of warning for the shore line walk, there may not be continuous fencing along the water so keep a tight leash on the younger kids. Even though there were plenty of signs warning against fishing, there were observed to be a few fishermen looking for a bite on a quiet summer evening. It was calming to observe the serenity and patience of the fisherman. Parking wasn't difficult (on a Sunday) however, I could see this being problematic on some weekends, as there were many residential street parking restrictions. The main parking lot doesn't provide for much parking.

There is paid street parking nearby now, which makes it easier to find a spot. On weekends, the walkway gets a little crowded. I've come during the day (during the week) and week nights though, and it hasn't been busy. I'm sure when the luxury buildings go up it'll be busier. This is a great place to come if you want to relax or take a stroll by the water. I'll definitely be back for another walk soon.
