Good service, the airport is more spacious, waiting in line for less time, the aircraft on time, but the price slightly more expensive

Toronto Pearson Terminal 3 Station - A Gates for US !

Overall - this a good airport compared to others…read more For my fellow US travelers, the process is a bit different than US airports. First, if you're flying domestic - you won't have an ID check until you actually board your flight. If you're traveling to the US - you will clear US Customs and Border Protection here at YYZ. This is awesome because you don't have to wait in the long arrival lines in the US. If you have Nexus or Global Entry - the experience will be even quicker! In most of my experiences here, the security line moves fast - but the actual screening is slow. Not sure how that makes sense, but it's been my experience. If your luggage gets marked for secondary inspection, that process can be slow. While doing intra-Canada travel yesterday, the secondary screening added an additional 25 minutes for me. Today, the process was a bit faster. Once in the secure area, there is plenty of shopping and there are plenty of lounges. Now go get some maple syrup and poutine, eh!

Toronto Pearson might just be the worst airport I have been to in any 1st world country…read more The terminal is consistently dirty. The bathrooms are in disrepair. The terminal is huge, the signage is terrible and the customer service from those who work there is, well, to be blunt, non-existent. I know it must be hard to operate a big airport. But, if New York or Chicago or Amsterdam or Mexico City (or any city really) can do better than you, take it to heart that you need some serious retraining and upgrading. If I ever have to travel to Toronto again, I will try and fly into the little airport just off the downtown area in the lake. Toronto Pearson might just be the worst airport I have been to in any 1st world country. I thought that needed repeating!!!

I've been to this airport about 6-8 times- crowned check in regular here. Having helped build this…read moreairport-it's some priviledge to start using it. This is THE AIRPORT known for the Flair plane running off the runway track. It was also known for no lounge access and limited to no food options, but thing have changed. It's also the airport known for the longest time as a difficult public transit accessible airport. So I thought to give an update on things. The airport is situated in Breslau, it is a difficult airport to get to if you are relying on public transit. From most popular access points in Waterloo, Kitchener and Cambridge it can take about an hour via GRT bus service. This is a bus service for the local. They at one point did on call reservation pick up from a certain location that was still quite remote. Not there's a general bus that connects at Maple Grove where the loblaws supply chain-improvements but still a struggle. I personally have not taken it because I'm usually with a companion and it's $4 per person and a Lyft can cost $15. Second I'm usually travelling with oversized luggage the size of a body bag. The airport does have parking but it's pretty expensive and seasonally, namely the winter time economic lots are closed. But the lot does have flexible 90min free parking onsite so if you just want to wait and pick up it's an option. There are ride share pick up at the front, but I truly struggle to book Lyft, often putting a request and waiting forever. Uber seems to be only option and that can cost $20. This airport is comprised of three gates, there is a cafe now inside the secured area, there is washroom, water fountain, plenty of seating with plugs in every seat. No lounge access. This airport services Westjet and Flair and private planes. It also services Landline that transfers to Toronto-but you can't do security clearance then go straight to secured area at Toronto Pearson like some of the landline service in USA. So it's an easy ride, comfortable but unstable seat trays for laptop work for a $40 transfer with reasonable internet speed. There are other options for $10-25 in the area to transfer to Toronto Pearson without spending $20 to travel to the airport. If you happen to take Flair or Westjet, the oversized baggage is really easy to clear, and there are two security lines for xray (possibly three lines can be setup-looks like the equipment is already setup). There is no nexus express line here- so arriving a little early can help you avoid the general line. Definitely worth giving this airport a try if you haven't done so. CBSA is here- but changed to the only platform for custom clearing no longer requires visiting this airport in person.

What a great experience it is to fly out of YKF Airport. There is plenty of parking (across from…read moreterminal) and the first 90 minutes is free. The people are very nice and overall it was an enjoyable flying experience. The check-in counters move kinda slow so make sure you get here at least 90 minutes prior to departure time. They also only had 1 security line open. Definitely a lot less stressful than YYZ Airport
