Much to my surprise, Hypro did not show up. Two Ulraniane fellows, who could barely spoke a stitch of English, showed up and dug a 3' by 6' hole. No equipment, just shovels. I was able to determine that they were sub contractors to Me Rooter, who was contracted by Hypro to do the work. My issue arrises form the fact that the guys did not complete the work as agreed upon with Hypro. After a few calls I was assured that the work would be completed properly. It wasn't. I won't bore you with more details but it wasn't what I was promised and paid for. Hopefully it the pipe doesn't settle too much and stands up to the weight load.

We live just outside Dundas, Ontario on the escarpment. In July 2013 our water stopped running. We…read moreare on our own septic and well. We called Taylor Plumbing and they responded quickly. They assessed the situation and said we had to replace the line from the well pump (located in the well 10 feet off the back of the house) to the house pump (inside). $750 and $1350 The total estimate was $2100 to repair and it could be done the next day. We agreed and the work was done as promised. The inside pump is in a 'boiler room addition' to the back of the house. So breaching the thick foundation of the outside wall was not required. That boiler room had laminate flooring laid on top of the cement floor. Over the next couple of years that laminate floor started buckling and we were not sure why. Until the following Spring the the ground was saturated (melting snow and constant rain, resulting in a flood of our entire basement. After much investigation we found the source of the water was indeed the wall where the inside pump was located. We had little choice but to re-dig where Taylor had dug to lay the new line and sure enough the young guys who did the new digging (cost $2500) found a hole caused by someone stepping on the line before the hydraulic cement had dried. The line then popped back into it's resting place leaving a hole the size of the line - enough for the water to come in when the ground was saturated. The leaks started slow and because the laminate flooring went unnoticed until the ground was saturated enough. Water always finds place to go and in this instance it was into our house via the hole left when doing the original water line repair. The young guys plugged the leak from the outside and then again from the inside. It's been a year and we have no water coming in. Our insurance company had a ton of claims due to the wet Spring so it took more than 2 years to complete the repairs from the flood and another 6 months to settle all the accounting so we knew exact costs. We reached out to Taylor Plumbing to discuss the $4500 we were out of pocket due to their error. Crickets. Another 2 months or so goes by. I shared this story with my nephew and he wrote a Google review. The next morning we get a knock on the door and it is Brent Taylor from Taylor Plumbing asking if we could discuss our situation. He listened and went away to do his homework. Initially he claimed they did not do the work. They had no record of this at Taylor Plumbing. We found our cancelled cheque to both Taylor Plumbing and the excavation firm they hired to to the digging. Brent came back within a week and said they had indeed done the work (which we could prove via our proof of payment) but too much time had gone by for them to stand behind their work. He then said they did not breach the wall so they could not have caused the problem (our current plumber is an expert on pumps, well and septic systems says BS) He then said if I had called when we had it dug up... we took pictures of the hole before fixing it, which he did not even ask to see. My wife - right as usual - said they would not own up. She called it before I even reached out to Taylor Plumbing to discuss the issue. So bottom line, we are out the $4,500. And we paid $2,100 to fix one problem and create another even more expensive one. I would never recommend Taylor Plumbing of Waterdown as they do not stand behind their work.

Back then, 13 years ago we had the kitchen renovated and it was Taylor's Plumbing who were hired by our General Contractor. They did an excellent job all those years ago and we haven't needed a plumber since then. An indication of the quality workmanship that took place. That is until my Grohe kitchen faucet recently started leaking from the pull-out hose and flooded the cupboard underneath the sink. Based on previous experience, my first and only choice was to call Taylor's Plumbing. And boy am I glad I did!! Grohe customer service soon provided a replacement hose under their lifetime warranty. When that arrived I called Taylor's Plumbing on 21 April 2017 to arrange an appointment to have a plumber come to install the replacement pull-out hose. Tracey (super efficient!), who answered my call booked my appointment for 24 April 2017 and explained the plumber would call between noon - 5:00 p.m. on the day to set the time he would be coming to the house. Sure enough, at noon on the dot, a delightful gentleman by the name of Mike Roach called to let me know he was available to come straight away. Within 25 minutes he was in my kitchen discussing the plan of attack!! By the way, a nice consideration given by Mike was putting on the little blue bootees he brought along, over his outdoor shoes when he came in. The job itself was pretty straightforward. Mike soon made short work of removing the old hose and fitting the new one...once he had turned off the water supply at the sink!! Talk about going above and beyond....I asked Mike if he could attach the replacement fitted liquid soap dispenser Grohe had also sent along. The bottle part , when filled with liquid soap would fall from the grips that held it in place under the countertop. Not the best of designs, but time had weakened the teeth that gripped the plastic bottle. There had been too many spills under the cupboard to put up with the mess any longer! No sooner said than done! Mike obligingly removed the old liquid soap dispenser parts and securely fixed the new parts. Even topping up the new plastic bottle from the liquid soap refill I had ready and waiting. It's such a pleasure to find a person who enjoys what they do and do it with glee. Mike certainly went that extra mile and I was very appreciative of that. I have no hesitation whatsoever of recommending Taylor's Plumbing and will most definitely use them again for any plumbing needs. Very professional staff, courteous and efficient from start to finish. Keep their phone numbers handy just in case you need their help. And ask for Mike Roach, he certainly knows what he's doing.

When I turned on the indoor tap leading to my outdoor garden hose water gushed out inside (where it wasn't supposed to). Dy's visit #1 led to an easy diagnosis: the original bleeder cap hadn't been put on in the fall. (Prior to this I had no idea was at bleeder cap was.) The plumbers suggested that I could easily fix the problem by buying a replacement. I did this but again water gushed out after I installed it. I was prepared to pay $$$ to repair faulty indoor tubing. When I called back to set up visit #2, the plumber encouraged me to try to find the original bleeder cap and offered to look through his supply of old parts for one. It was possible there was a slight difference in the cap I bought. The second visit was promptly set up. When I looked very carefully, I did find the original bleeder cap but was gun-shy about trying again myself. Visit #2: The plumber put the original cap on. No water leaked out. I got clear instructions about what to do when I disconnect the hoses in the fall and there was no charge. My husband died several months ago and this exchange gives me reassurance that I've got good support in my own community.

He removed the old kitchen tap, which was what I was having trouble with, and gave me some tips on how to install the new tap once I found one that fit. He then installed the bathroom tap and provided some other advice relating to the bathroom sink. He did not charge me for the kitchen tap installation. I found a kitchen tap that fit, and it is now installed and working great thanks to John. I will call him if I need any plumbing in the future.
