Home Depot sent them out to install a garbage disposal. The technician installed the disposal and then waited till afterwards to tell me that the piping was set up incorrectly. And then try to quote me $660 to fix it. This is something that should've been disclosed ahead of time or fixed as part of the install installation fee because if there was no piping set up at all and I paid for installation that would've been covered. definitely a shady business practice. read more

Bought a water softener from Home Depot. Requested installation. After a mix up with Home Depot I was told to contact Delta Mechanical. Installation was quoted at $599. When the technician arrived he immediately said he did not know there was a filter on the water softener and he did not have time to install it. Plus the price would be an extra $400. Not happy, but paid the extra and re-scheduled. Installation was done and display was on. It appeared the system was functioning. Until a few days later when I noticed the display had an error code. Called the manufacturer and was helped with trouble shooting the issue. Turns out 2 wires in the main control valve had not been connected and water was not going through the system. After I attached the wires and re-programmed the system it began working correctly. I paid $1000 for installation and the technician left me with a system that was not functioning at all. read more

I contacted Home Depot for a water heater installation and was put in touch with Delta. A very knowledgeable man gave me a good price and arranged an installation date. We specifically agreed upon a price that included the water heater and installation. I did not want the water heater delivered to our house and he agreed that sometimes that is problematic and agreed to have the installer pick it up on the day of installation. However, the installer informed us that the water heater had not been delivered to Home Depot and was in another state. OK, mistakes happen. However, when I called the gentleman I had dealt with at Delta, he never returned my call. When I called the general number, they couldn't help at all. I cancelled the order, called a plumber who was able to install the water heater immediately. The bottom line is that when dealing with companies like Delta, which have an arrangement to install for Home Depot, you are dealing with a middleman. They must hire or have contracts with plumbers around the country and you have no idea who you are dealing with. Home Depot is just a retailer and is out of the equation. I would not recommend Delta. They should have known that the water heater had not been shipped. The installer should have known before he was on his way to our house. They should have returned my call and arranged for the heater to be shipped and provided a new installation date. Most importantly, they should have returned my call. Instead, after making arrangements to be home and clearing out the space for the water heater, several calls went unanswered for hours until I finally decided to find someone more reliable. read more

Delta Mechanical installed our new tankless hot water heater about a year & a half ago, since then we have had to pay an electrician to come out & install a new outlet for the heater because the Delta employee plugged it into a random outlet & it was blowing our breakers throughout the house. Now we had to pay a plumber to come out after the heater started dripping every time the A/C would go off. We found out that Delta installed the heater incorrectly & tied it into the same drain pipe as the A/C. Also was informed that it will not pass inspection if we were to sell. I contacted Delta & they refuse to take responsibility for the incorrect installation & the money we have had to pay for other companies to fix their mistakes! Very very disappointing! I thought they were a decent company. I am hoping one of their supervisors will contact me after reading this bad review, but I doubt it. read more

When I decided to purchase, I scheduled for installation, I waited for the whole afternoon, nobody told me what was going on, no body came. I called them at 4:30pm, they said "They are on their way." Waste of time. There was some confusion on the install of a new dishwasher into new cabinets. To drill two holes, they tried to shake me down for an additional $130. I'd already paid Home Depot, and Delta acknowledged the work order was for a Dishwasher, Garbage Disposal and faucet install. They wouldn't have the gig without the Home Depot referral. I had a tankless hot water heater installed February 2024. I am not getting hot water in one of my showers. Called the company they scheduled an appointment. The day before a technician called to troubleshoot over the phone. He told me I lived to far away to send a technician to my home. Nothing was fixed and when I contacted the company I was informed that it was the mixer and I had to pay over $200 for a service all plus whatever else needed to be fixed. I was unable to determine if it was the mixer. I would NOT recommend this company for anything. Was given the 12 to 4 pm window, was called at 3:55 and told plumber was on his way and was 50 minutes away, Installation was done and inspection scheduled. Water Heater failed inspection as a pvc drain pipe was not connected to anything. A new appointment was scheduled for the same 12- 4pm time frame, The day before received annoying calls and emails saying I needed to schedule an appointment, finally got confirmation after 1/2 hour on phone that appointment was for Friday 12- 4pm. Friday after waiting from 12 - 4:15, I called Delta Mechanical and was told the person who made the appointment didn't assign it to a plumber and was rescheduled for Monday 12-4pm. I was quoted a price almost a week ago by a Delta sales representative to have my New 80 gallon water heater installed and Delta Mechanical tried to renegotiate pricing the same day of installation. This company is very unprofessional and their District Coordinator has bad business practices because she attempted to change our deal by explaining to me that bigger water heater tanks are almost another $1000 dollars more to do the installation. That was just the starting price... Wow! I was told by the DC, that she was not authorized to honor the original quote that I received. She went on to say that her Delta Mechanical District Manager of the Tampa location had to approve it and wouldn't be in until Monday. My installation was scheduled on a Saturday and you're going to tell me that my situation didn't warrant a phone call that day? I have a hard time believing that a Manager wouldn't be available on the weekends for situations like mine. I believe money was more important than honoring the deal that was made originally. Delta let us know when they were on their way, which was very close to the reserved time. Stefan was to have a helper, since our unit was on our 2nd floor, but as everyone knows instillations don't alway go smoothly, so he was beside himself. He was fantastic. This company was chosen for me by Rheem to install a high efficiency water heater as part of a test program. My first interaction was when some guy just showed up at my home unannounced asking where the water heater that wasn't delivered to me and being very aggressive about who was paying for his visit! What the cluck? So, I reach out through the test program and am told they don't know WTF they are doing and to wait for a callback. It was Delta Mechanical that should have the water heater and should be delivering it when they come to install. Also, I was never to make any payment as Rheem was covering all costs. About a week later Delta Mechanical finally got some leadership on the job who were able to finally tell their as*es from their elbows and actually contacted me with the novel idea to schedule a visit once they had the hot water heater. So, the hot water heater gets installed. The tech forgot to leave any paperwork and apparently also forgot to install a SERIAL NUMBER TAG? At least according to Rheem, these are installed and not placed at the factory. Shocking really, but now I have no hot water and I can't even initiate warranty because my water heater both left the factory without a serial number and also was installed without a serial number. Today I reached back out to Delta Mechanical who was very quickly able to locate my installation record in their system. I was placed on hold for just under 30 minutes and when the representative returned they acknowledge that they don't have the serial number in their system either, "but it's probably archived". Great! How in the itchy double hockey sticks am I supposed to get moving towards having hot water when I've trusted companies like Delta Mechanical for my installation? I get a prompt phone call (although it came up as spam and not company ID) and talked to an agent name Tom. Phone call goes smoothly and he is polite and gives me a quote to have a certified contractor come out and do the install at my desired time. I decided to not give my CC info over the phone which was not an issue, however, when I went to Home Depot to pay for the purchase order it was double the quote with no itemized break down even on Home Depots computer screen. I did not receive the quote itemized via email either and canceled the order. I was able to call a reputable installer for 75% less than the quote I was given. It was the second water heater that we had gotten in seven years so I decided to go in a different direction. I decided to buy a nice Rheem water heater from Home Depot. That night, I called and found the model, size and price that I wanted. Home Depot transferred me to their sub-contract Delta Mechanical, Inc. to set up an installation. They were friendly and helpful. I was scheduled for the next day for 2-6. The day of installation arrived and I got a call from Delta telling me that they had overbooked for the day. They would not be able to come until the next day. I tried to remain calm and reasoned with the company and they found that they could squeeze me in at around 2 that day for the installation. My face became less red. Around 11:00, I got a call from the installer (Stefan Petrov) to say that if it was alright, he could be here at 11:30! You bet! There were some challenges with the placement of the water heater but we figured a way to get it to fit and within the city code requirements. The work was done within two hours. I couldn't be more pleased with the professional result. I was told that they specialize in warranty work as well as installations. Xhentil had an appointment to install a new hot water heater at my condo on Monday but we found out that the water shutoff valve was broken. Had to get management to have it repaired. A company came yesterday to repair the shutoff valve but fixed the valve to the condo next to me in error. Had meanwhile made appointment for Xhentil to return this morning & he discovered they fixed the wrong valve. Had the company return later this morning to correct mistake & actually fix my shutoff valve. Xhentil came back later today & installed the hot water heater on his third visit. He remained calm, professional & pleasant the entire time. He knows what he's doing & takes pride in his work as everything was done correctly & timely. I had a gas water heater installed by Delta. They had to come back out the next day because of a gas leak since they failed to changed out the gas supply line the first time. Next they had to come out because the temperature they set the heater at was so hot it was causing water to leak out of the pressure relief valve. After having Delta come out for the 3rd time I had the county come out for the final inspection. Of course with the track record they already had going with this install it failed the inspection because they used mismatching parts. I scheduled them for a 4th time to come out and fix what I was hoping to be the last issue. The plumber they had scheduled me for that 4th visit called out that day and the next available time they would schedule me for was a week later. They offer same day services for new installs because that makes them money, if you have already paid for a new water heater install you are then placed at the bottom of the list for service because they lose money each additional service call they come out for. At the end of the day I went to the store and bought the new parts and completed the corrections myself so that it would pass the re-inspection. Delta offers reasonable pricing on their installs because you get the level of service that you pay for. Go ahead and spend the extra money to get a plumber who will install a water heater correctly the first time. read more

So, I called Home Depot and got the numbers to call Delta. First phone number was disconnected, second number was for an apartment lease. I googled the phone numbers and they were both registered to Delta Mechanical. Actually, there were many phone numbers and addresses for Delta Mechanical, but all would lead to the same webpage. I saw several reviews for Delta Mechanical in different websites, which were not good - most complained of poor customer service, of being overcharged and adding extra charges to what was quoted. There were couple complaints on the Better Business Bureau website. Needless to say, on Thursday 6/20/19, we canceled everything from Home Depot. About 2 hours after canceling the order, we get a call from Delta Mechanical (a Phoenix, AZ number) saying they can come over today. We tell them we canceled the order; they have the nerve to tell us that they have to charge us a "cancellation fee" when we didn't even make an appointment with them! read more
