I don't know where to start! Delta K9 has done such a great job with our 2 year old GSD Buzz. He had behavior issues, anxiety issues, and would not focus under high stress situations. It has been 8 (what felt like) very long weeks, but they were all worth it. Grace has done such a great job with him and Buzz loves her (a sign of a good trainer if you ask meHe is confident, attentive, but most of all he is still himself. While he is very well behaved (a 180 shift from before), he still has his same personality, still likes to play, and is still himself. I would like to add, we tried other trainers (that had great reviews) prior to Delta, but they were not ready for a high drive dog like Buzz. I can't recommend coming straight to Delta enough. They also ensure you are properly prepared to handle your dog. With transition sessions and answering and asking every question possible, they don't leave any stone unturned.

    Fluffy going home

Great dog training place ! Amazing staff and actual results ! Staff is amazing at communicating with you about your dog , showing weekly training videos and just overall communication! Grace is an amazing trainer , amazing feedback , great communication no treats needed ! All around worth my money ! Thank you delta k9 , fluffy thanks you too !

    Thank you Delta K9 Academy!!!!

DELTA K9 is AMAZING! Our 10 month old american bully "Yui" had aggression towards dogs and people. We brought him in for behavior modification. Delta K9 staff took great care of Yui and they gave weekly video updates of his improvement. GRACE is AWESOME in training Yui . He is a new dog! She gave a lot of pointers and made us understand more about him . Grace gave me a lot of confidence in handling our pup. We can't thank her and the Delta K9 staff enough. I bet Yui ("Chokito") will definitely miss them too :)

My dog has benefited greatly from Delta K9's work. His trainer Grace, deserves a lot of credit. Delta k9 crew was outstanding. She trained Chapo using efficient training methods and tough love, and she did a fantastic job. She also had provided us with thorough instructions to ensure that we carry on with the training at home. Chapo has been a whole new dog since we got him back. His level of anxiety has decreased. He is now a confident dog. Allowing us to take him places and for walks around the neighborhood. I strongly recommend grace as a trainer and delta k9 for anyone looking to enhance their dog's behavior and their dog training. Grace and the Delta K9 team deserve a huge shout-out.

Receipt of our vet bills after picking up my dog from their facility

Mike is a bully. As I was trying to work with them regarding the refund of vet bills for my dog's kennel cough, they asked that I email the vet bills and I did! No response from any of them. I finally called after a month and I was told "you want me to pay for your dogs vet bills?" I said you should, my dog lost weight, got a kennel cough and didn't train well after being in your facility for almost a month! Not to mention us paying 5k for his training! We didn't pay them 5k just to deal with the aftermath and be treated condescendingly and pay another 1500 for the vet!!

7/20/23 - Koa's trainer, Grace, showing my 8yr old how *she* should hold his lead [slightly diff than if I'm walking him].

[My very first review for DK9A was on Google Reviews: https://goo.gl/maps/T69UdTUTC8NgWhEF9] We bought our black GSD, Koa, from Delta K9 Academy in June of 2022. He became very protective and dog reactive from around 8 months old. I did my best to work on giving him corrections and desensitizing him, but it was also challenging getting my stubborn husband and rowdy young daughters on-board as well. We were using a prong collar that apparently, the gauge was way too big, more for a 130 lb dog, according to the head trainer, Vinny [my bad, main Trainer, Grace, gave him a new smaller one]. Hence why my corrections weren't doing the trick and I was a little late on that too. **Self-accountability.** [wink, wink] He's boarded there in Jan 2022 when my hubby and I celebrated our 10yr anniversary. Owner, Mike, suggested we bring him back for obedience training before he gets even stronger and somebody gets hurt. Unfortunately, the timing didn't work out then because my 8yo was in school and I would have to head back to DK9A for the 3-day Transfer process which must be done in three *consecutive* days and we have 1.25-1.5hr commute one-way with decent traffic on the dreaded 405 fwy. We figured it best to wait to board and train him when we left for vacation and they would update me on his progress once a week with a few phone calls to address my long list of concerns. Mike was very patient and informative in doing so. After 5.5 weeks of training [varies per dog/family] and completing the 3-day transfer of learning and working with his amazing trainer, Grace, speaking with a few other DK9A trainers, and Mike, here are the major improvements we noticed as of this writing: 1) He no longer barks at other dogs on our walks as long as my husband, 8yr old [pictured], and I [main handler] make sure to give him a quick pop on the lead to correct him before he starts fixating on a person, bird/squirrel/smaller animal [high prey drive] or another dog [dog reactive]. Prior to OB training, he would lunge towards another dog, bark ferociously like he'd wanna kill them or eat a yappy Pomeranian/Maltese for a snack. 2) He no longer pulls hard on our walks. YAYYyyy!!! 3) He listens to our basic commands a lot better too! SIT, STAY, DOWN, PLACE - all big improvements. I reintroduced crate training upon his first day home and it was a smooth transition. He was already used to "bed" on his cot bed which is now, "place." His orthopedic bed remains "bed." He doesn't leave Place unless we tell him too [still a daily work in progress at home]. 4) We learned not to give him treats for small feats, but greater tasks since he's already very food and toy motivated (ex: no treat just for sitting, but give treat at the *end* of multiple tasks, always give a treat for good recall). This may be different for other dogs, please speak with a DK9A trainer for individualized tips. 5) His recall was great at their facility, but we're still working on that at home both indoors and especially outdoors with a lead and prong collar (ask them for what size Herm Sprenger collar is best for your dog). We also purchased an Anchor convertible slip lead before leaving on his final day there. 6) He hasn't barked at the "Yappy Dog/House" even though they barked at him from behind their tall backyard fence on our walks around our neighborhood since pickup on Thurs., 7/20/23 (we walk/play/train him daily). 7) He no longer pulls to sniff and mark every frickin thing on our walks. We couldn't be more ecstatic about how much more pleasant our walks are with Koa and forever grateful to his trainer, Grace. Special shoutout to the girls at the front office [hi Adel & Celia!] for being so patient and entertaining my daughters so I could speak with Grace, Mike, and train with Koa. Lord knows how challenging it is to manage my 8yr old's chronic autoimmune T1d (not like T2d - insulin dependent vs insulin resistant, she can't reverse or outgrow it, no cure), being a full-time mom and main caregiver, and making time to train Koa. Now that he's more well-behaved, I can actually have my oldest daughter walk him around our neighborhood, having her pass him to me like how Grace showed us, before another dog/owner approaches us. Note: Koa's 15 months old, 80lbs, intact. He likes to be the dominant male in our neighborhood. DK9A did the hard work and it's up to us to keep up the daily training now that we learned how to do it better. We anticipate being able to bring him to dog-friendly beaches in the next week or two, on-lead with his "DO NOT PET" tactical collar and/or harness of course, bc we're often surrounded by none-the-wiser. He's the third dog [and smartest] we've owned thus far. We're open to e-collar training with Grace in the near future too for more confidence & fun outdoors.

My girl Sophie - Thank you Delta K9, thank you Grace!!
    Veronica L.

Delta K9 has done AMAZING work with my dog!! She's 110 lbs, Doberman Great Dane mix who was taken from her mom and litter at 6 weeks so she never learned compliance. She has always been a love bug at home but I could not take her on car rides, hikes or walks because of her aggressive behavior towards others. Grace, one of Delta K9's finest, trained Sophie off leash using an E-Collar. Sophie did so well that she even became a demo dog!! I am beyond grateful for all the work she did with my pup. Today Sophie can enjoy a much more fulfilling life and integrate herself with society.

    2 month old German Shepherd
    Angela K.

Last week we got our 2 month old German Shepard from Delta K9 and have plans to enroll him in their protective training academy. They made the process for our kids so fun and gave both my husband and I the utmost support and professional help we can ask for. Being a dog owner is a huge responsibility and they made the process so enjoyable for all 5 members of my family. We got to meet both the parents of our pup and the kids got to bond with him before taking him home. The staff there are so professional and knowledgeable, that we instantly felt that we're getting our new family member from the right establishment. We can't wait to now start our training journey with them. Thank you guys so much from the bottom of my heart! You've helped make a difference for my family.

Trainer, my Belgian Malinois, Owner (My Dad)
    Anaisse R.

This place was great to take my 6mos old Belgian Malinois to get trained for obedience! Marco did a fantastic job & made the transition week of training for my dad and I very informative! We both feel confident that our dog was taken care of while she was away from us for this training program. All the staff was very friendly & welcoming. The girls at the front did an amazing job at breaking down how/what the program covers in terms of cost and such. I would definitely take my Belgian back for more training if she needs it. Thank you so much, DeltaK9!

I can't recommend Delta K9 and trainer Grace enough. Our pup had really bad anxiety , aggression towards dogs and new humans and she was rejected by prior trainers until we found Delta K9. They treated her with the outmost care and were so patient with her, she was definitely very hard at first for them but they gained her trust and were able to work on all of her issues. Our baby is home now and so well behaved. The program although expensive it's worth every penny, she has an amazing quality of living now and we can't thank them enough for that. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts

4' thin replacement leash after destroying mine
    Evelyn C.

Paid $1,289 for 10 nights because this place supposedly "specializes with aggressive dogs". My dog is dog aggressive and I specifically requested he be kept away from other dogs because he gets aggressive and anxious. I brought his food, treats, water/food bowl, toy, leash and prong collar. I never requested any "bath" or "little shower" because he easily gets hot spots. I got a video of him with another dog around and when I asked about it I was told he was fine with the other dogs around. When I went to pick him up I was told they gave him a "little shower" then i was given my leash that was stored wet in a plastic bag smelling of mold which I asked about and was then given a replacement. I brought a thick 6 foot leash that cost me $40 because it was durable material, my dog is 100 pound German shepherd,i was given a 4 foot thin almost plastic like leash as a replacement. I asked if he had been kept in a room (more expensive but was supposed to keep him away from other dogs so he wouldn't get aggressive)or a kennel, he said a room. My dog came out looking dazed, I brought him home and he couldn't get out of the car and was falling all over the place. I called to ask what he was given and was told that just his food. I checked my dog for possible wounds, no wounds but when I checked his teeth, he has chips and grate marks, so I'm pretty sure he was kept in a kennel and broke his teeth chewing on the bars. He only anxiously chews when he's around other dogs. I don't know how expensive his dental work is going to be but certainly more than $1200. Upon further inspecting him, he has sores on his toes as well and his testicle is chafed raw. If you love your pets and don't want to get ripped off, don't bring them here.

Delilah's love, respect, and admiration for Grace is eternal!

When I took my dog to the vet, they found multiple lacerations and puncture wounds on my dog's paws. To this day, we still don't know what happened and multiple vets couldn't figure it out. So either there's some sick employee torturing the dogs or they are just neglectful to the point of evil. My dog also didn't poop for four days after and was drooling for 10 days straight. See pictures and a report from the vet attached. There is clearly a weapon/bite mark of some sort on his left paw and two of his other paws also had lacerations. Thank god he realized his mistake, otherwise our cat would have slowly died alone in our apartment - and this would have happened immediately after losing my mom. I understand mistakes can happen, but the fact that a sitter was uncertain with potentially life-threatening medication if administered improperly and didn't even think to reach out to us first was quite shocking. Sitter4Paws took full responsibility, admitted their mistake, said they would take steps to make sure something like this would never happen again, and covered her 4 day ER stay, but it never should have gotten to that point. Again - we did have great sitters who took care of our cat wonderfully - but the uncertainty of who you can get especially with medication involved means that we can no longer recommend this service with confidence.
