The walk consists of going through a residential area where there is little to no foliage. The parking itself just seemed a little disorganized.. many cars ended up being blocked in by other cars and had to wait who knows how long in order to leave. We got lucky we found a spot near the exit. Plan ahead and get there early!

Since I use a service animal, I wanted to confirm that we would be accommodated. I couldn't find a confirmation in my emails, so I called the hotel. I was met with an AI "assistant" with no way to speak to a human. I tried for over a week to confirm our reservation through phone calls, email, and the contact form on their website, I kept being told that I would hear back in one business day if I had a reservation. Since I never heard, I assumed I had made a mistake, gave up, and booked a new room. Lo and behold I get a confirmation text from "Possibly Spam," and it's the confirmation from the Delta Queen for both my initial reservation AND the new one I had just made. If someone had just picked up the phone or responded to any of the emails, I would still have the $150 I am now out because I tried to do my due diligence. Because of how close it is to the date we need to be up there, we will still be staying. I hope that when we do check in we get to talk to an actual human, and I can plead my case for a refund.

While I learned to appreciate all blues, Billie Holiday, with her jazz styled infused blues, was my favorite female artist. B.B. King my favorite male blues artist. His pure original style making "Lucille" cry the blues every which way no other guitarist could, propelled B.B. to take his art-form worldwide. All the greats after him owe him homage as the trailblazer of American Blues.. While B.B. King had his influences from earlier blues figures, B.B. took the blues mainstream. Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix,, Elvin Bishop, just to name a few, all learned from... The Master. While "The Thrill Is Gone" his music and influence will live on. It was my first…read moretime attending this boat race (or any boat race), but I am glad I did, and I plan on attending next year. The weather was perfect, and the setting was wonderful. There was plenty of seating available near the docks, which are situated near the boat launch area, so spectators had a terrific view of the exciting boat racing action. There where food and drink vendors near the boat launch. I didn't try any of the food, but I did get a free life jacket at a booth hosted by the Coast Guard. The crowd seemed pretty small this year, so I don't know if seating will be as good next year or not. As this event catches on, it will probably draw larger crowds. Isleton is such a cool little town! The delta is an amazing place to visit and explore.
