Terrible experience and terrible customer service. I booked a round trip flight for my brother several months in advance for a wedding in Mexico. No issues with the outbound flight. Inbound flight was at 7:30am, so our transportation got my brother to the airport at 5:30am. He was told he couldn't check in unless he had the credit card used to book the flight. The attendant told him that he had to pay in cash, which was not only rediculous but also seemed phishy. He called me (at 5:30am, and I asked to speak with the attendant. The attendant told me that this was Delta's policy, and that he could pay cash (for a flight that I had already paid for). Needless to say, he didn't have that much cash on him, nor did the policy make any sense. I asked to immediately speak with the attendant's supervisor, after having to wait (almost until my brother wouldn't be able to get on his flight), I called Delta Customer Service. I explained the situation, and the customer service rep asked if I was near an airport (at 6:30am) and if I could go show the credit card to Delta. I told her I was not anywhere near an airport, and that it was 6:30 in the morning, and that no other airline has ever given us this much trouble. The lady told me that this was a TSA policy. Immediately after that, my brother said that they let him through. I told the lady that we would NEVER fly with Delta again.
A few things:
1) We were NEVER told that he needed the credit card.
2) Who in the world asks for cash AFTER a trip has been paid for?
3) The lady on the phone said this was a TSA policy, whereas the airline attendant aaid this was a Delta Policy.
4) Are Delta employees trained to have TERRIBLE customer service?
5) Needless to say, we will never fly with Delta again. read more
