This bar is a bit of a 'famous' place for my family. Every year, the men of my family take a road trip to a Green Bay game and they always stay in La Crosse for one night. This night always consists of visiting Del's. My husband and I decided to take this same trip, but in the summer. This way I can experience the same places the guys go. When we get to LC, we went to Del's even before our hotel. It's a nice dive-bar-esque place. It's a bit dim, but that's what bars are supposed to be, right? I like the circular layout of the place. My husband bought a shirt. We didn't stay incredibly long, but long enough for a couple drinks. Bartender was great. Thanks for letting me finally see the place that is so important to so many people I love. read more

This bar is definitely a staple any time we come back to La crosse. While it's cash only, the drinks are extremely affordable, tasty and strong. The ambiance gives local bar, service is super friendly, and not too overwhelmingly busy! Always recommend going when in town read more

Stopped in to Del's yesterday, Sunday afternoon. Bartender was friendly, it was his first day. Opted for a $2.50 PBR. We discussed their selection of bloodys but I decided not today but will definitely try one my next stop in. I didn't peruse their website beforehand but had stopped @ an ATM en route which worked out, they're a cash only establishment. They do have an ATM if you din't bring cash. Their yelp page reads: accepts apple pay, accepts credit cards..... I didn't ask their significance but I liked the random signature bricks on the floor. I like the variety of decor around.... I really like the etched glass/mirror hanging high above. Thanks Del's for an interesting inaugural stop, cheers. read more

My kind of place. Typically Midwest dive bar. Super friendly bartenders that made out of town folks feel right at home. It is cash only and they told us that from the start. My friend and I both ordered a mix drink and she said $8 we assumed this was per drink. Nope, $4 for a mix drink. Unreal these days to find drinks this cheap. Very walkable from the Hampton inn definitely good place to start or end the night or both !! read more

Absolutely one of our favorite stops. A proper place for a solid bloody and in house popcorn. And don't forget a PBR backer. Didn't try the food but don't feel without by not. Staff are fantastic. read more

Had a Royal Bloody Mary, for which makes them "famous." Not at all flavorful. Creative additions such as the pickled egg was novel, but far too salty to be edible. The decor is ok but the whole place feels and smells so dirty. The women's bathroom door is so narrow it needs a weight limit posted and smelled worse than any restroom I have ever been in. Service was fast enough but couldn't have been more unfriendly. I think she hates the job as no one seemed to feel welcome and the bar certainly turned over fast. If you want a dark beer with a dicey vibe it might be acceptable. Overall this cash-only bar gets added to my never-again list. read more

Friendly spot to come in too, and definitely not too expensive. All the employees and the customers that I met at this location was very comfortable to go inside and sit down and have a drink with family and friends. read more

Cash only dive/townie bar (although it was full of college kids as well). Incredibly cheap drinks ($5 bloodies, $4 vodka tonics). The bartenders were professional. They're not the types to stop and chat but they were also never behind on orders. They have Touchtunes so that was fun. read more

Saw that this was a must stop for bloody Mary's .... so I had to stop while in la crosse. Was going to try the big Bloody Mary but didn't think I could finish it (lunch was after) ... so I opted to get their regular Bloody Mary. That still came with a ton of toppings and some of the best beef jerky I've had. The mix itself taste phenomenal. Definitely recommend it !!! The atmosphere itself was very very cool. Everywhere you looked there was more and more to see. Pretty busy (but it was a Saturday). Cash only ! Huge menu of different types of Bloody Mary concoctions. Definitely a cool stop read more

Great bar. Atmosphere is great and staff even better. Rich was out bartender and made our out of town visit amazing.

This was a recommendation from a local. No frills just a great bar. Good drinks, prices, popcorn, and peanuts. Friendly staff and people. Great stop if you're looking just to grab a few drinks. Recommend the Old Fashioned. read more

Been our first fest stop for years. Bloody Mary's were cheap as dirt this year. Soggy pickle, some other soggy greens, ton of ice, and smokey mix. Do better, Del's. read more

Good atmosphere and a decent Bloody Mary. Can't say it is the best Bloody Mary that I've ever had but it wasn't bad. Got there a couple minutes before opening but the door was open and the bartender served us. He was very friendly and his mother stopped in while we were there. I would go back there again if I am in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip for it. read more

This is hands down the best bloody mary in town. Maybe even the state. Maybe even the US. I may be biased because I have never had a bloody quite like a Wisconsin one in another state. They have just nailed it down at Dels. It has the perfect amount of spice, the perfect amount/combo of toppings and of course the signature beer chaser. Not only is their bloody incredible they also have the best atmosphere. It's like a real life iSpy book inside with all of the incredible decor. The bar can get quite cozy-especially around Oktoberfest and other events but its worth it. You must stop here if you are in La Crosse looking for a good bloody or just a fun towny bar to stop by! read more

Best Bloody Mary you'll find ... In the country ! It's not only a great local dive bar but it's a great spot for any tourist . They don't just have one Bloody Mary.... they have a board to pick from . They make any bloody with any sort of liquor and it somehow turns out to be good . All of them come with pickle , cheese and olive garnish . Some of the other bloodies come with additional toppings like a beef stick . Come day or night and the bloodies are sure to blow your mind ! Bartenders are all super sweet ! They are a cash only bar ! Atm is located inside . Peanut and popcorn are available at your leisure . And one of the coolest things you'll find here ... Drum roll please ... plugs around the bar top ! Those iPhones never last through the night . Come here and refuel your tummy and your phone . read more

Old school decor, peanuts/popcorn to munch on, and the best Bloody Mary that I have had. 52 ounces of yumminess with two pints of beer chaser. Next time that I am in the area, I will be back in for another... CHEERS! read more

Del's Bar - Dive Bars Near Me - La Crosse, Wisconsin

Was in town for Thanksgiving. Went to this bar with couple of local friends. Tried their bloody Mary and beers. Overall prices are not bad and service was good but it was so loud music that you can barely hear yourself. Bar was not that busy with clients but music made us leave way earlier and we chose a different bar instead. Also, they don't take cards and you must bring cash. It's 2022, not too many people carry cash on them. read more

Seriously the best Bloody Mary in town! That is until I watched them make someone's 2nd bloody in the same glass, pour it in a shaker, the back into that glass and proceed to make another bloody for a different person using the same shaker without washing it in between...during COVID...yuck! read more

Go for the bloody's. They are phenomenal. The best bloody mary's I have had at any bar across this great nation. If you like spicy, be sure to specify. They are adorned with a slew of treats: pickle, brussel sprout, green olive, cube of pepper jack cheese, and a beer chaser of your choice. I don't like green olives, so I usually try to trade them for a brussel sprout. Go for the music. Monday nights for Cheech's Open Jam are always enjoyable. The juke box has a great selection; bluegrass, classic rock, local music, etc. This is a good bar to people watch since the bar is a large oval. Also watching the bartenders dance. :) The bartender's are great. Chubba, of the Smoking Bandits, makes the best bloody mary's. If you're feeling saucy, Wednesday's at Del's are "Softcore Wednesday's" so if you want to watch porn with a bar full of randos...this is the place to go. Overall, I love this bar. It was the first bar that I was a regular at when I turned 21, has the best bloody's, and I will miss it dearly when I leave La Crosse. read more

Kudos for Carrie for writing the first review of Del's Bar. I was thinking that no way would someone have beat me to it, but sure enough! I hate to sound like Toby Keith here, but I love this bar. I really do. Its my definite must stop at while in "God's Country" (La Crosse, WI to the lay person). Whether you are having a bloody mary or just stopping in for a "Tall Strong Fucker" (long story, one of the bartenders will often ask you how you want your PINT mixer), you are in for a good time. The layout (as mentioned previously by Carrie Dubb) isnt the most efficient (a big oval that takes up the majority of the bar space) and makes for cramped quarters often times. The bartenders in the oval are excellent. They make stiff drinks at cheap prices and add some pizazz while doing it. I'm glad, I'll be coming back to LaX in October for my first Oktoberfest. read more

Del's had the cozy feel of a bar that's been a bar for a long time. There was a lot of stuff on the walls, some of it interesting and perhaps more original, some of it more 50s diner-esque like a lot of Elvis, Marilyn and James Dean items. The bar itself is a big long loop, like a Racine kringle, so there's a good chance someone will be sitting right across from you and while they are several feet away, there isn't anything blocking you from locking eyes with people awkwardly a few times. There were two ladies working behind the bar, and both of them kept a good eye on who needed drinks...efficient but not overly chatty with us out of towners. The drink prices were reasonable (no credit cards accepted), and they seemed to have a lot of drawings going on with some cool prizes like bikes and kayaks. We were there around 4:00 on a Saturday afternoon, and the music seemed a little loud for that time of day. I couldn't have talked to someone two stools down without shouting. There was also a fairly strong perfumy smell, which I couldn't figure out if it was some kind of air freshener or cologne or what. Overall, my experience with Del's was OK. I would stop there for a beer again if I was in town. For now I've checked it off whatever list made me bookmark it in the first place! read more

Best bloody Mary I've ever had. Great conversation from the bartender, who had a lot of useful information about the area and where to eat. Friendly atmosphere. read more

I went to grad school in La Crosse and lived there for 3 years. Things I miss about that town include the bluffs, my friends, and Del's. Outstanding music, cozy/friendly atmosphere, the best bartenders in all the land. Other reviewers are right - go for the bloody mary's... no one else compares. read more

Lots of stuff on the walls to look at, decent drink at a good price. The music was kind of loud for a Friday afternoon. The bartenders were very friendly with people that they knew, but didn't talk to me at all. Not anything super impressive or really fun, but an OK bar. read more

This is a great dive bar. There are tons of 1950-80's memorabilia all over the place. Fantastic Bloodies, beers and bartenders. There is a jukebox with a great variety of music. I love this bar. Live music from 10pm-2am on Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays. read more

I love this place. Best Bloodys in town! Service is usually good, always friendly but occasionally overwhelmed.

Bartender is a bitch and lax best bloody is far from it. Really wish we would have gotten our drinks without the side of attitude.

Used to love Del's. I just stopped in with a buddy at 1:30am and the bouncer Id'd us which is expected. Then he says u have 5 minutes...What? 1:30? He states bar time. Ive been a bartender for 8 years I know bar time. 1:30 is not bar time. The nar was slammed packed. Two deep around the whole circle bar. This bar didnt deserve the $50 we wpuld have dropped in the short time we would spend there. Go else where. read more

Strong drinks good atmosphere friendly people. Every thing you would want in a good corner bar.

Came here because of the reviews on Yelp. Bloody Mary was awesome!- it came with a beer chaser. Bartender was the best!!! Came in on a Sunday morning and she had MTV I love the 80's on the TV. A few of us were singing along with the TV. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

An excellent place for just about any aged adult. Del's features a u-shaped bar which allows patrons to see one another. The staff has a ball and seldom has turnover. While famous for their bloody mary's, they could get a few ips at www.mybigfatbloodymary.com read more

Went to college in La Crosse 10 years ago. Currently live in Chicago and have yet to find a better Bloody Mary! Del's serves the best bloody mary award! Going back to La Crosse this weekend for a reunion. First thing on the list, Del's bloody mary! Del's Rocks! See you Saturday or Sunday! Can't wait for all of the yummy treats served with the bloody! How in the world does a bloody mary bar open at 11 am!? Everybody's hangovers are clearly gone by then or they have just given up for the day and are shivering in bed. Big downvote on the hours, everything else is good, their bloodies are good and service is good but cmon. read more

This bar isn't very big and gets packed at all hours of the day. Expect to stand. The bartenders are pretty attentive though.

heard they made great Bloody Mary's so we decided to stop in and see.Well it's true. They were great.the whole bar is really great.if you're in LaCrosse this is a must stop in bar. read more

not the best bloody! Expected much better was disappointed. The pickeled sprouts were really good though.

Best Bloody Mary's in the world! (or at least that i've ever had and i LOVE bloodys) They use a mixture of spices that no one can duplicate. Garnish with big chunk of pepperjack cheese, olive and a brussel sprout. I think they put a pickle on too, but I've never eaten it, my girlfriend always eats mine. Great service! Very friendly and entertaining bartenders. Cheap drinks and all the Pearl Street Brewery beers on tap! You can usually catch live music there a couple nights a week too. read more
