Stopped in to Del's yesterday, Sunday afternoon. Bartender was friendly, it was his first day. Opted for a $2.50 PBR. We discussed their selection of bloodys but I decided not today but will definitely try one my next stop in. I didn't peruse their website beforehand but had stopped @ an ATM en route which worked out, they're a cash only establishment. They do have an ATM if you din't bring cash. Their yelp page reads: accepts apple pay, accepts credit cards..... I didn't ask their significance but I liked the random signature bricks on the floor. I like the variety of decor around.... My kind of place. Typically Midwest dive bar. Super friendly bartenders that made out of town folks feel right at home. It is cash only and they told us that from the start. My friend and I both ordered a mix drink and she said $8 we assumed this was per drink. Nope, $4 for a mix drink. Unreal these days to find drinks this cheap. Very walkable from the Hampton inn definitely good place to start or end the night or both !! read more

Had a Royal Bloody Mary, for which makes them "famous." Not at all flavorful. Creative additions such as the pickled egg was novel, but far too salty to be edible. The decor is ok but the whole place feels and smells so dirty. The women's bathroom door is so narrow it needs a weight limit posted and smelled worse than any restroom I have ever been in. Service was fast enough but couldn't have been more unfriendly. I think she hates the job as no one seemed to feel welcome and the bar certainly turned over fast. If you want a dark beer with a dicey vibe it might be acceptable. Overall this cash-only bar gets added to my never-again list. read more

Cash only dive/townie bar (although it was full of college kids as well). Incredibly cheap drinks ($5 bloodies, $4 vodka tonics). The bartenders were professional. They're not the types to stop and chat but they were also never behind on orders. They have Touchtunes so that was fun. read more

Saw that this was a must stop for bloody Mary's .... so I had to stop while in la crosse. Was going to try the big Bloody Mary but didn't think I could finish it (lunch was after) ... so I opted to get their regular Bloody Mary. That still came with a ton of toppings and some of the best beef jerky I've had. The mix itself taste phenomenal. Definitely recommend it !!! The atmosphere itself was very very cool. This is hands down the best bloody mary in town. Maybe even the state. Maybe even the US. I may be biased because I have never had a bloody quite like a Wisconsin one in another state. They have just nailed it down at Dels. It has the perfect amount of spice, the perfect amount/combo of toppings and of course the signature beer chaser. Not only is their bloody incredible they also have the best atmosphere. It's like a real life iSpy book inside with all of the incredible decor. The bar can get quite cozy-especially around Oktoberfest and other events but its worth it. Was in town for Thanksgiving. Went to this bar with couple of local friends. Tried their bloody Mary and beers. Overall prices are not bad and service was good but it was so loud music that you can barely hear yourself. Bar was not that busy with clients but music made us leave way earlier and we chose a different bar instead. Also, they don't take cards and you must bring cash. It's 2022, not too many people carry cash on them. read more

Del's had the cozy feel of a bar that's been a bar for a long time. There was a lot of stuff on the walls, some of it interesting and perhaps more original, some of it more 50s diner-esque like a lot of Elvis, Marilyn and James Dean items. The bar itself is a big long loop, like a Racine kringle, so there's a good chance someone will be sitting right across from you and while they are several feet away, there isn't anything blocking you from locking eyes with people awkwardly a few times. There were two ladies working behind the bar, and both of them kept a good eye on who needed drinks...efficient but not overly chatty with us out of towners. The drink prices were reasonable (no credit cards accepted), and they seemed to have a lot of drawings going on with some cool prizes like bikes and kayaks. We were there around 4:00 on a Saturday afternoon, and the music seemed a little loud for that time of day. I couldn't have talked to someone two stools down without shouting. There was also a fairly strong perfumy smell, which I couldn't figure out if it was some kind of air freshener or cologne or what. Overall, my experience with Del's was OK. I would stop there for a beer again if I was in town. For now I've checked it off whatever list made me bookmark it in the first place! read more

Go for the bloody's. They are phenomenal. The best bloody mary's I have had at any bar across this great nation. If you like spicy, be sure to specify. They are adorned with a slew of treats: pickle, brussel sprout, green olive, cube of pepper jack cheese, and a beer chaser of your choice. I don't like green olives, so I usually try to trade them for a brussel sprout. Go for the music. Monday nights for Cheech's Open Jam are always enjoyable. The juke box has a great selection; bluegrass, classic rock, local music, etc. This is a good bar to people watch since the bar is a large oval. Also watching the bartenders dance. :) The bartender's are great. Chubba, of the Smoking Bandits, makes the best bloody mary's. If you're feeling saucy, Wednesday's at Del's are "Softcore Wednesday's" so if you want to watch porn with a bar full of randos...this is the place to go. Overall, I love this bar. It was the first bar that I was a regular at when I turned 21, has the best bloody's, and I will miss it dearly when I leave La Crosse. read more

Kudos for Carrie for writing the first review of Del's Bar. I was thinking that no way would someone have beat me to it, but sure enough! I hate to sound like Toby Keith here, but I love this bar. I really do. Its my definite must stop at while in "God's Country" (La Crosse, WI to the lay person). Whether you are having a bloody mary or just stopping in for a "Tall Strong Fucker" (long story, one of the bartenders will often ask you how you want your PINT mixer), you are in for a good time. The layout (as mentioned previously by Carrie Dubb) isnt the most efficient (a big oval that takes up the majority of the bar space) and makes for cramped quarters often times. The bartenders in the oval are excellent. They make stiff drinks at cheap prices and add some pizazz while doing it. I'm glad, I'll be coming back to LaX in October for my first Oktoberfest. read more

Used to love Del's. I just stopped in with a buddy at 1:30am and the bouncer Id'd us which is expected. Then he says u have 5 minutes...What? 1:30? He states bar time. Ive been a bartender for 8 years I know bar time. 1:30 is not bar time. The nar was slammed packed. Two deep around the whole circle bar. This bar isn't very big and gets packed at all hours of the day. Expect to stand. The bartenders are pretty attentive though.

Best Bloody Mary's in the world! (or at least that i've ever had and i LOVE bloodys) They use a mixture of spices that no one can duplicate. Garnish with big chunk of pepperjack cheese, olive and a brussel sprout. I think they put a pickle on too, but I've never eaten it, my girlfriend always eats mine. Great service!
