I am Director of Manchester Chartered Accountants G K Blonde. Due diligence dictates that I monitor my staffs emails, and I was this week shocked a alarmed by a substantive series of abusive and disgustingly worded emails received by one of my staff. The emails were coming from a business called Delicious Dinners in Sunderland, and the author was shown as a person named Ruth Foster. I made enquiries with the Company member concerned, one of my Managing partners. It transpired my colleague had recently been seeking a Meals on Wheels service for his 84 year old father in Sunderland. His father has cancer, and is very vulnerable. My colleague had taken up references on two Sunderland Meals on Wheels services, Delicious Dinners and Aunt Maud's. He found that the references for Aunt Mauds were A1 five star and those for Delicious Dinners at best average and in one case poor. He understandably therefore chose Aunt Mauds Meals on Wheels for his father. Ruth Foster of Delicious Dinners sent an email asking if he had decided to take up her service for his father and he duly notified her that, after taking due diligence references, that he had chosen Aunt Mauds' What followed from Delicious Dinners was a constant barrage of disgustingly worded emails, the full content of which I could not possibly print here. After using Delicious Dinners to provide hot food for an elderly relative over a couple of months, the meals began arriving either late or not at all this is worrying when they are relied on by elderly people for hot meals. My relative raised the issue with who I believe to be Ruth Foster she swore blind that the meal had definitely been delivered that particular day, however there was no evidence whatsoever to suggest a delivery had been left or even attempted. My relative decided that Delicious Dinners could not be trusted, therefore cancelled the service by text message, however received a reply from who I believe to be Ruth Foster, saying that she did not intend to provide any more meals for an 'ungrateful sod' like him anyway. This was followed by another less-than-polite text message some days later. All moneys owed were paid and the service was cancelled. I have no criticism of the quality of food provided, but the quality and professionalism of the company owner left a very sour taste in the mouth, especially as they are recommended by Sunderland Council. We cancelled Delicious Dinners and appointed Aunt Maudes We found Delicious Dinners very inflexible and on one occasion even left a dinner on the doorstep. I know my friend cancelled soon after us because of some abuse that they got on the phone. Ruth has a foul mouth and is unfit to be in business. I know our District Nurse recommends Aunt Maudes and they are in a position to know what is good for the elderly and infirm. read more

I was recommended to go to Delicious Dinners by my friend when my Mam & Dad could no longer cook for themselves. They were very helpful and have given me piece of mind as I work away a lot.
