The waiters are attentive and the food comes promptly. I went there with a large group but also for a date and both experiences were great. The central location in Leopold Square is also a bonus. This is the perfect place to try Indian food for the first time or convert people to Indian food!

From my experience, this has never happened here. My favourite is the Chicken Tikka Dansak, which is flavourful and tangy and balanced well with the lentils. My partner enjoys their Chilli Chicken, which is almost like a hybrid chinese/indian dish, and although HOT has a depth of flavour. Naan breads = divine! Restaurant itself: Relaxed and cosy environment, unusually decorated! There's elements of your usual curry house decor, mixed with Roman pillars, faux vines and a tented balcony area which I love, it's perfect for couples. Equally, I've also gone as part of a large group (12) and they have been able to accommodate us well, the service has always been good no matter the number of people at the table. I recommend this place to everyone I know, and so far no-one I have taken has been disappointed!

I have had Indian food in the past, and this is nothing compared to even the worst Indian food possible! The waiters are very rude and don't even wait for you to choose what you want on the fake menus they give you. They were also very disturbing and didn't let us eat in peace and also forgot most of the food that we ordered. The total ended up to be over £100 just for 5 small dishes with some sides. Definitely not going ever again!

Now the Excellent news: the food is fantastic, the staff are really friendly and it's a bring-your-own bottle place (there're a couple of off-licenses across the road) so the bill is much less than what you'd expect. Honestly, you can pay three to four times the bill elsewhere in town for food that's not as good. I can recommend the veggie vindaloo, tarka dhall, Bombay aloo, channa massala etc. etc. Plus, they serve complimentary poppadoms and pickles and table water: who else does that these days? Recent example: dinner at the Mangla for 13: bill £99. They don't accept cards so check down the back of your sofa for loose change and GO!

I ordered a Chicken Tikka Balti which is one of my favorite indian dishes (if it's done right). It was the most expensive indian dish that I have ever bought with 1 naan bread it cost £9.60, they also gave me a small starter which was a bag of salad and a sauce quite nice as well I had it after my balti. The Balti had plenty of meat in and had a rich thick spicey sauce, it was the hottest balti's that I have tried among restaurants and take-aways, I thought it was perfect at first but began to struggle towards the end because of the spices. I very much enjoyed the balti but the price is too steep unfortunatly, I may go back to Mangla and try a cheaper dish to see what it's like. The food is worth 5/5 but I have knocked off 1 star becauase of the cost.

Prices are a little higher than average for an Indian in Sheffield - but they do tend to have 'special offer evenings' - often during the week. The owners of this place have been in the business for long time and know how to handle people who are a little worse for wear, as well as those who are downright out of order too.
