While I was at chemotherapy with my kid ,around 11:30am on a Friday, I venmoed money to his partner who picked up our lunch (actually my breakfast because it was a fasting blood draw day and I was hungry!) from the recently opened Deli 101 next to Safeway. I think there used to be a coffee/gifty shop there for a number of years.
The partner stated the place is a little bare/ sparse ( they've been open about a week) but bright and clean with nice people helping him.
We got: chicken and wild rice soup with a drink (deemed yummy), a small container of pasta salad (also declared tasty), and my tarragon chicken salad wrap.
Neither of the not- as -hungry -as -myself 20 somethings took pictures for me but both reported they liked their food. Partner might have liked a chunk of bread or some crackers with his soup. My kid is obsessed with pasta salad this summer and was satisfied.
My tarragon chicken salad wrap was pretty good, it had a good flavor ( although I tasted no tarragon), I liked the wrap, and it had unexpected cheese on it. The veggies were nice. I might have liked a dill pickle half or a handful of chips but it was a good brunch.
The owners apparently had a deli here in 2012 that didn't make it because it was tough times. I hope people go eat their yummy food and support this sweet local business. We will be back for sure.
P.S.The partner mentioned that cookies or brownies would be a good idea. ( hint hint). read more
