Delecta doesn't pay attention to detail. That's a mistake, because, with some changes, it would be a place that everyone would be happy to rate highly.
Don't get me wrong, their food is not bad at all, and the draft Żywiec was the cheapest I got during my entire stay in Kraków. They didn't even charge us extra for the raspberry syrup, which was very surprising. Maybe it happened by mistake?
Note: the Orange Eleven Spritz cocktail didn't look appealing at all. The presentation was truly poor. It was actually prepared by our server. He also poured us beers and took care of soft drinks.
Kraków is full of Italian and Italian-inspired restaurants, where you can have good pizza as well.
Delecta is always busy. We had a reservation for six and got a nice table. I liked the setting, but the flowers in the vase were no longer fresh. Anyway, we moved it to the end of the table so they wouldn't get in our way.
We ordered pizzas, salad, and one pasta dish. The Carbonara came first. I was not happy about that because the general rule is to wait until everyone is served before you start eating.
Then again, who wants to eat cold pasta? Plus, it was for one of the youngest in our group. The lesson wasn't learned this time.
Everyone enjoyed their pizza.
The salad was disappointing. The mixed greens had a lot of bits and pieces that were already getting bad. You know, those thick, brown ends that you usually cut off and throw in the compost. In this case, they ended up on our plate. Also, the pear was cut into chunks that were way too big. Some of them had brown spots.
Also, it was obvious the salad was for sharing, but no extra utensils for serving were provided. I know, we could keep asking for everything that we needed, more napkins, olive oil... It was enough.
The salad came with two pieces of garlic bread (should have been homemade focaccia), which again were a very poor quality. It didn't even taste good.
Overall, we had a good time. Our server was pleasant. The background music definitely didn't add anything good to our experience. It was bad.
I remember the atmosphere being more relaxed and quiet on our previous visit. Maybe because it was almost closing time? Three of us were given a complimentary shot of limoncello as a farewell and an invitation to come back. That was a really nice gesture. read more
