I tried. This restaurant is trendy and always busy. I just haven't been able to figure out why it's so popular. I wanted to love it too, or at least like it.
The reservation on their website failed. There was not a single table available for the early evening. Being in the area, we tried anyway, and got a table in the back room without waiting. I wish we had chosen a seat outside in the garden. It was much nicer there than the dark, narrow part of the restaurant we were seated in. I had a lovely view of my companion, but everything around her was just a boring dark navy colored wall.
I have to admit, the server was very polite and all around great.
Our food was brought to the table very quickly after placing the order. It felt rushed.
Anyway, I just wished there was more flavor, and still, I think their pizza isn't anything special. Maybe more tomato sauce, mushrooms or ingredients in general wouldn't hurt? I'm probably not a fan of certified Neapolitan pizza. It's just too doughy, soft and needs something to elevate its taste.
Agnolotti, stuffed pasta, wasn't bad, but again it was missing something. I expected a tastier dish. I prepared Chanterelle recently and it was lovely.
There wasn't background music, and it got loud at some point.
Given the abundance of Italian restaurants in Krakow, I'm open to try different places and give up on Nolio, unfortunately.
Note: I remember having a much better experience at their second location, N'Pizza. The interior, vibe, and even the beer glasses were funkier. Plus, I enjoyed the pizza. Perhaps, because N'Pizza didn't have anything on the menu besides a few appetizers and pizza, they focus more on the quality of every pie they serve. read more
