As long as I can remember, we have always liked to visit Pizzeria Cyklop on Mikołajska Street. Although my relationship with the wait staff had frequent ups and downs in the past, our recent visits have been only positive. Maybe it's because we started to move our party of ten or more to the newer, second location. I don't have to face the problem of a small space anymore when organizing a larger number of people.
Usually Mikołajska is super busy and it is difficult to get a table in my favorite room with the brick oven. It is really a nicely furnished and decorated space with an extremely cozy atmosphere. I like to order something to drink and position myself comfortably to watch the whole process of my pizza being created from the beginning to the moment of landing on my table. Or if I have company, which is usually the case, we have a really nice environment to talk while waiting for our order. I'm never rushed there, so the waiting time for food is not important.
I can't say anything about the other items on the menu except the pizza. That's what I always order and every time I am extremely satisfied. The crust is perfectly done with a thickness that's just right. We ordered Parma and Salame Picante last time. Both pies were simply delicious. Parma was the star for me. Loaded with toppings, it looked beautiful. All ingredients were fresh with vivid colors and aroma. I couldn't ask for more. One of my group said yes to extra oil which was offered. There are two kinds, regular and spicy oil.
Our server was really nice and helpful. I thought it was a delightful change from my previous experience. It is much better to see a smiling, inviting person greet you when you arrive, instead of someone crunching into "bitchy face" woman. Obviously, I don't need to explain why.
After my last visit I have only one complaint. I think I never paid too much attention to prices, but this time I noticed they charge 2 zł for one dose of raspberry syrup which we asked to add to our beers. I started to think it's a form of punishment in the new era of craft beers. It must be less and less popular to make your beer tastes more like a soda drink and it used to be rather popular among females drinkers. This time, I had just a basic draft Żywiec with a splash of fruit syrup which should be complementary. Why not? One 420 ml bottle of syrup retail costs 3-5 zł and I don't think they use the most expensive. Oh well, it made our beer costs 14 zł each and I thought it was too much for an ordinary drink. Maybe next time I will look closer at what they offer for food and drink and will choose something totally different. read more
