And a lot of people are just drivers driving by, but they are in the mix with the cars pulling out of the school. It's absolutely insane, I tell you!! Lol I was sitting at the front waiting to pull out for 20+ minutes, because the traffic is hellacious. Don't get me wrong, we love our Garden City and this doesn't have anything to do with the school per say. It just isn't a great intersection. I hope one day, maybe one day, we can get with the program and take turns! Lol Who am I kidding?

We were there for a soccer event and got to experience some of the parents engaging with students which was helpful. It was a well run event with great concessions and lots of seating for those attending. I'd go back for future events and would love to find out more about their academic record.

A lot of teachers discriminate based on how popular or rich you are, and again, the principal and dean are the same. The athletic director stole 40k for sports betting, the previous superintendent was fired and replaced with... the dean!? And a long year after, with no attempts at actually finding a man or woman smart enough to hold the position. Do NOT send your kids here, and if you are a decent person please, do not risk working here either. If you aren't rich, you aren't popular here. There is no true authority here. many male teachers get too comfortable with the female students and to stupid with the boys. Almost all the decent people have left. I've heard that the principal doesn't show up half of the time... especially when she's needed during lunch detentions. The Bible teachers here are not good, minus one. One thinks he is "cool" but treats people very poorly simply because he does not like them. The other has a loud mouth, a short step, and is stuck up as he often tries to make himself look good around the students. Don't risk even driving onto the school property unless you're there to save the three or four honest and respectful teachers. Does this sound like a God-fearing, faith based safe space for your children?? Do Christian's go around flaunting their bodies, objectifying their girlfriends, or bullying others to the extreme? I am extremely disappointed and my heart has a heavy burden for those who have and are being negatively affected by this school. I highly do not recommend ever going here, ever.

The is a small school, grades Pre-K to 4th grade only. Fifth graders transfer to Bell Intermediate…read moreSchool. During my child's tenure the class size was small during the first year. However, in another year, a new teacher that was due to start, did not start for what ever the reason. Therefore that year the class size was doubled to 30 as the cancellation happened too late to find a replacement I was told. A new building or wing recently completed will be opened next year with new classrooms, a STEM lab, and a new art room. This school has always been kept up to date. Whether it is a student project to beatify the grounds, or add a new feature such as their Community Library; or the school district investing in new infrastructure or maintaining existing buildings at this school. Brooklyn STEM Academy is definitely one of the jewels in MSD's crown.

If you have a student with special needs or have a family supported by court agreement, IPS would not be a good choice. I was forced to talk about my problems that I had at home in front of a group of girls, if I didn't talk about them I would get in trouble and sent to the principals office. Those girls then proceeded to make fun of me for the whole year about my problems and no one did anything. This school was absolutely terrible, the principal Mr.Ennis was the rudest person I have ever met. It wasn't until recently I realized what they made me do and how horrible my experience was. Please do not send your kids here.
