After seeing the car I bought in the daylight, I noticed the "CHECK ENGINE" light was BLACKED OUT BY PAINT. Then I started noticing more cover-ups like spray painting the wheels, rotors, running bars and bumpers. I called Delaware Auto Exchange (DAE) and asked if they could stop the sale since the title wasn't available. They said NO. I asked if they could not do business with the shady dealership, D&G AUTO SALES, Frankford, DE. They said NO. That the dealership may not been aware. (I personally find that hard to believe.) DONT WASTE THE TIME ITS NOT WORTH THE EFFORT IT TAKES TO GET OUT OF YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!! Worst customer service I have every seen in my life. Wife made an appointment last week for Saturday to have two vehicles appraised. We recently bought some cars privately and decided to pull the money from them to buy one of the kids something a little better. We showed up and spoke to one of the salesmen. They came out and started looking at the vehicles. the tech drove both of them then went then asked us to come inside. From the beginning of the conversation with the finance manager I knew where this was going. He asked what I was looking for from the vehicles and I told him I was interested in getting what I have in them and no more. He proceeded to argue with me about how much I want d for each vehicle. I specifically told him this was a package deal and I was only looking on get what I had in them. I didn't car how it looked on paper. At that point he said well "ill just say a hundred apiece" my son was with me and spoke up and told him just to split it between the two equally. Once he want back to his office I knew how this would go.. Sure enough he came out a few minutes later and said well the best I can do is 500 for them. Now Please understand theses are not new vehicles. but they run drive stop and are tagged for a year. Both were trucks and both were in decent shape. At that point I was confused on weather they were actually serious or joking. When I said to him are you serious he said yes that's all their worth. With that I took my titles and proceeded to tell them to kiss my ass and walked out the door. Now at this point I was irritated and dumbfounded. Needless to say we went two miles down the road to another dealer and were offered 5k on the spot after they inspected them. This was below what we had in them but it goes to show how crooked and arrogant the guys there are. So you want to offer someone 500 knowing you can make you money back 1000%. I will never recommend these fools to anyone or send anyone there. I will also make it a point to pass it around how things went and what they thought they could do to people. Trust me I get they need to make money and have a business to run but that's absolutely crazy. So think about how they treated a grown man. DPAA has a wide selection of vehicles available to bid on. The personnel seem friendly until you purchase a vehicle, then atmosphere seem a little cold! It would be in the best interest of management to maintain the same customer care to their client before and after a purchase. My advice to future potential bidders is to pay close attention to the buyer's fee and factor it into the bid price as it can lead to buyer's remorse. I was very interested in a minivan that was advertised as having power sliding doors. When my husband and I test drove it, not only did the power doors not work, they barely opened on the manual setting! Our Salesman Brandon was very pleasant and promised to have the garage look into it and get back to us the next business day. We never heard back from him. My husband called after several days and was told Brandon had COVID. Ok, I understand, but SOMEONE should have responded. We called several more times and kept getting pushed off. In the meantime, Salena texted me asking why I was holding back from purchasing the van. I explained the situation and she said she would check with her supervisor. I still had not heard back from ANYONE a week later, so I texted again only to be told the van had been sold. SERIOUSLY?? HORRIBLE customer service. I purchased a vehicle from DPAA in January of 2017, and I was asked if I wanted to go ahead and pay the tax, registration, and title fees along with the cost of the vehicle, buyers fee, and the clerical cost. I agreed to pay the total amount because I had no intentions of having to travel that far or going back up there for anything. I don't like riding that far anymore. Then I was asked if I wanted a one or two year registration. I said the two year registration. A.S. quoted the full amount I needed to pay, including theses fees and I gave her the money (full amount. Then, almost a month later I got a call from them asking me if I have a receipt for the fees because they did not have a record showing I paid the fees. I thought the yellow paper given me with all the fees with 0 balance was my receipt. I guess not. I went back and paid the fees again. when I handed the clerk the money, she said "thank you, have a good day." I said "O no I want my receipt." I waited a few minutes until she came back with the receipt. I repaid these fees on the 16th of March and still have not gotten my title or tags so I have not been able to drive my vehicle because the temp tags have expired. Make sure you get a receipt for all fees paid when purchasing a vehicle from DPAA. If necessary have them go over all the paper work with you. I learned from my mistakes, a costly one. not everyone can be trusted. This was my first and last time dealing with them and buying a vehicle from an auction. I have since then purchased 3 vehicles from another auction and got my titles the same day. read more
