This is not the first time this has happened, there have been multiple occasions where my daughter told me she felt uncomfortable and judged in the studio. Competition kids would stare or whisper. Later in the year i was speaking to one of the other moms, and the studio owner came up as a topic of our conversation. I was told the owner has been saying to a few moms they should keep their kids away from my daughter!!! That is ridiculous!!! This studio is full of negativity and judgement across every room! ($140/month for 11 months vs $600 per solo at the studio across the street) My kid was turned down from even taking a class after we have invested years of our time and commitment and thousands of dollars for competition team. This year, we didn't join the team and were booted from the studio altogether.

She is always pushing and challenging me. Even when I am not sure of my abilities, she strives to get more out of me. I'd been to classes at another venue before, and while I enjoyed those classes, I do appreciate the different levels they have at Salsa in the Suburbs. They structure the classes well so that you can put together a routine by the time you finish up a course. The instructors are very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We went to one of the later classes in the series, so we needed some clarification on a part of the routine that we had missed in prior classes. One of the instructors, Craig, was great about showing us what we had missed and helping us both get it right. He didn't just show us what we had asked about; he asked us to do the entire routine to make sure we understood it all, which was great. I'm looking forward to attending the rest of the classes in this series as well as the higher-level classes.
