We use the facility for swim lessons and gymnastics. The staff for these events are very kind and love the kids. The family changing area is nice to keep both kids together. The kids watch is fair. The staff seems very overwhelmed with the kids. Overall it is a nice location and one of there newest styles of YMCA in Central Ohio. read more

Wow!!! One of the coolest YMCA's to go. New equipment, big open atmosphere. The pool and splash pad is great for families. I also love that they have a rock climbing wall, and a place to hang out for all the cool kids on the block.. :) I have a 4 year old and absolutely feel comfortable leaving him while I workout in the child watch area. They have two rooms of toys and is very clean and love there system for protection. Also the other cool factor is after your workout. The Delaware YMCA is getting a two star review for lying to the customer. I recently joined the Y in December. I was a few months under the age limit before the rate increases.When signing up I was told by Amy that I would receive the lower rate for the entire year. Now two months after my birthday, I got an email saying membership rate will increase. Amy now has no recollection of saying the rate would remain the same, and management was not helpful either. Amy has been with the Y for a while and should know not to misinform a customer. After speaking with another member, they also told me the Y increased their rate from what was originally quoted. This rate was not related to an age increase for this memeber. The Y facility itself is well maintained. It is a lot cleaner than other facilities I have visited. The group classes are a good way to get a full work out in. The instructors are friendly. The pool is fun, although it feels like it is freezing all the time. The Y is a good place to workout if you don't mind maybe getting lied to about rates. read more

Love this gym! I have a girl friend who told me when she goes to the gym, she doesn't want anyone to bother her. If someone goes for the machine next to her, she looks at them like "no. You're not gonna do that." ---- this is not a problem at this gym! It's spacious. And unless I'm just coming at off peak hours, there aren't people all up in your space and face at all. I love the cleanliness, that staff aren't all up in your face but available when you need to ask something or check out a locker key. I love that the parking is always available and the lot is right in front of the entrance so you're not having to strategize how to walk te hypotenuse when your hair is wet after a work out or on cold winter days. Score. Love it love it love it. There's a men's locker room. A women's locker room. And a family locker room. Since I take up a ton of space in this world I really like using the family locker room (jk, but I like feeling enough space to do my things in privacy without others seeing me or me saying excuse me and all that). So I drove over 55 mins to come to the splash pad behind the ymca center. Let me tell you it was well worth it!!! When we first arrived the kids was really excited and couldn't wait to get out off the car! The water park is big enough for you to run around and play with your kids and everyone else's kids. Theirs plenty of seating areas and theirs a little concession stand. The place is Dinosaur themed and its perfect for kids that love dinosaurs. Theirs Dino prints in the concrete and theres a huge Dino slide, also the park is all turf so no rocks or mulch to worry about. But if its a really hot day the park will sting their little feets and bottoms. I recommend bringing plenty of bottled water to pour on the slide and their feet as they walk around or bring swimming shoes for the kids to run around. Great place to exhaust the little one out!!! The ymca also has a play area inside also but for a family rate of $26 you can swim inside. read more

This is my local Y and since I moved to Delaware I have been a member. The Y is fairly new as it was built in 2012 and is huge. The staff working the front are always welcoming even at 5:30 in the morning. The Y has a right start program for new members and it was nice. When I go to the Y I participate in the classes, cardio, weights and more. Plus this one has a track over the basketball court. The lockerroom are always clean also. read more

Restricted hours for covid, yeah okay whatever- but when you do not update hours on any platform it gets to be ridiculous and incredibly frustrating. Today I got up and went with my brother after seeing that they were open on the app and on the maps app- but they weren't. They had people standing in the parking lot waiting for their "deep clean" to be over, just for them to close until 4pm the next day. So glad I stood in the parking lot for 20 minutes just to be turned away by a freshly printed off sign. read more

This place is only getting a two star review because of the workers. We went there to get info on softball and to sign up, and one of the three people working there was very rude. He said the only reason he worked there is because his girlfriend is a softball coach, the other reason isn't very appropriate. Not very nice, he had no manners at all. read more

I am among the majority of the nation who resolved to "get fit and healthy" this 2013. Mother-in-law bought hubby and I a monthly membership to the YMCA and I figured I'd check it out. My main reason for joining was because of the pool and the ability to swim laps as a means of working out. However, since our joining 4 weeks ago, I haven't touched the pool because the fitness classes have sucked me in. I've gone to Zumba, Cardio Kickboxing and Total Body Circuit. Many, many others are offered. If you're a smartphone user, download the YMCA of Central Ohio App. The Delaware Community Center YMCA updates their class schedules so you can check at a glance what's happening that day and when you can go. I believe it's about $70 for my hubs and I, who live in Delaware, to pay on a month-to-month basis -- but it's not really us, it's mother-in-law, so thanks MIL! Already lost 4 pounds. Awesome for childrens birthday parties. It was $100+ to rent a party room for 2 hours and get 10 kids in to swim. We had pizza delivered to the Y and brought in cake and ice cream. Kids had an amazing time! Very nice family pool, with a few sprinkler things to play around, zero depth entry, two life guards on the side and a big twisty slide. A few tables are setup next to the pool for family to watch and hang out, easy access to the locker rooms, which are clean and big. Good parking outside. read more

Very clean and nice, two indoor pools the big pool is a little cold but the smaller pool is perfect and great for water walking or laps if you don't mind it being shallow water, they have a nice climbing wall and the staff seem to be very friendly, as with all Y's in the central Ohio area it is very family oriented and you can feel comfortable here exercising if you're not in perfect shape, some activities may have age restrictions so you may want to call if you're bringing a young person read more

Great Y! Clean, friendly staff, and lots of equipment available. Plenty of family locker rooms as well!! The pool for kids is phenomenal and the slide is awesome!! Very disappointed with my experience- I rented the Hilborn Room at Mingo Park for my baby shower, spent $80 for a few hours time, and I felt like we were having my shower in a sauna. It was ridiculously hot and muggy, preventing guests from enjoying the party. I had to step out several times because it felt better outdoors than it did inside, and being 8 months pregnant, the last thing I wanted is to be in a 80 degree room and miserable.. I went with this indoor facility vs. an outdoor shelter because I wanted the air conditioning. Some of our older guests even left early because it was so uncomfortable.. In the end, I left hot, sticky and upset. Never again! read more

Just over crowded, the basketball courts are never open for free play it seems, kind of annoyed that the parks and rec was taken over by the Y as well, I feel it should be a separate entity . "Looks can be deceiving" is a very accurate statement with this YMCA. Everything is is put together well and seems very nice from the outside. The building architecturally beautiful, but otherwise there is much to be desired. The main issue is in the aquatics. There is very poor management for aquatics. The two supervisors never seem to be in the building, so when there is an issue you will have no one to deal with but the lifeguards. Some of the lifeguards really know what they are doing but there are others who are very inconsistent and won't help if you have a problem. They really need to work on the management because there are many times when lifeguards won't show up or some other reason so they will close the pool at times that are not scheduled. Also, the slide never seems to be open when they say it will be. read more
