Luckily we didn't need to drive far before we spotted this carniceria. Its parking lot was pretty full with many cars coming and going, which indicated that it was open. The store sold a variety of meat and snacks, much as what you'd expect from any other carniceria. But most people were here for the taqueria portion - you could get a box of cooked meat to go for ~$13-17 per pound, which was a pretty good deal. There were some tables inside the taqueria, but they were slightly dirty, and most people were just taking their food to go. We got a few quesadillas to share. They were huge and stuffed with well-seasoned chicken breast meat, and came with sides of rice and beans, or salad and avocado. The free salsa here was SPICY, and my mouth burned for a bit after consuming it. But overall the food was excellent and we left full and happy.

Walking into Trujillo, I thought it was just a market, but in the very back of the shop, they sell cooked food. Tacos, burritos and some of the biggest chicerrones I have ever seen. The menu is in Spanish, and with my food level knowledge of Spanish, I was able to decipher what most of the items were. Some of the menu items also had a photo that accompanied it, so that was extra helpful. However, their menu is slightly out of date as most of the items I wanted to order were not available when I was there, since it was a weekday. They seem to only have seafood and barbacoa on the weekends. My friends and I ended up getting the al pastor, chicerrones tacos and a burrito. The food is fantastic and I would have wanted to order everything, except then I wouldn't be able to walk around Yosemite. They also have horchata and that was wonderful. I haven't had horchata since going to Spain and this didn't disappoint. It comes in regular or large size, the large is really large, as much as I loved the horchata, I think the large should be a shared sized. I wished we had more time to visit Trujillo once more, but rest assure, I'll be back here when I'm in Madera again.

They were impossible to pick out. To the point where I called the store. They stated this was just garlic peel? It didn't look or smell like garlic. And if this was really garlic, why did they not peel it first? Something is off. The man on the phone told my husband and I to just pick it out. He was very unsympathetic and unapologetic.
