Yesterday I ordered chicken guacamole burrito, loaded queso nachos, large fries, large drink and 2 cheesecake bites totaling $30. I saved the burrito for today. When I sat down to eat my burrito I was disappointed because there was no guacamole and it was beef, not what I ordered. Not worth the cost

DEL TACO!!!! WOW, what happened to your food!!!??? I hadn't been here in a while and was sadly and extremely disappointed! I ordered the beer battered fish tacos and got "Street Tacos" no larger than the the palm of my hand!!! I am petite and have small hands. Crazy!!! The menu needs to be changed to Beer Battered Fish "Street Tacos" because the tacos were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tiny!!! That would be considered false advertisement so you may want to consider the name change! Never again!

The worst Del Taco in the area. They guard sauce and napkins with their life. The foods no good without sauce.

We ordered two breakfast burritos plus a side of rice for our daughter and everything came out hot, fresh, and seriously flavorful. The tortillas tasted freshly warmed and had that perfect light crisp on the outside while still soft inside. The fillings were generous without being messy and every bite had balanced flavor instead of just tasting like eggs wrapped in a tortilla. You can tell they actually season their food properly. What really stood out was the service. My wife had a very specific way she wanted her burrito made and they were completely accommodating and happy to do it. No attitude, no confusion, just friendly and helpful. That alone goes a long way. The rice was simple but really good which kept our daughter happy and that is always the true test. Between the value, portions, and welcoming vibe this feels like the kind of neighborhood spot you end up coming back to regularly. Great food, kind people, and satisfying portions. We will definitely be back.

There is nothing extraordinary looking about Rodríguez Taco Shop from the outside in a small strip…read moremall also housing Manami, a noted Filipino eatery. The interior is ordinary except for the city scene mural of Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. However, Yelper Rob B. raved about the Taco al Pastor and recommended a visit. So glad I did! Tacos here are drop dead flavourful in a way that emphasizes the satisfying Umami richness of the ingredients. Whoever is the cook, has a great grasp of what makes food taste great in the venerable style of cocina casera in most cases. Tacos: 1) Suadero is beef shoulder long braised in beef bouillon, possibly onion powder, sliced onions. The beef comes our moist, soft yet with a chaw. The broth marinade adds that extra richness that ups the beefiness. This is the best, exemplary Suadero I have experienced so far. The Tortillas de Maís used has definite ground corn aroma that plays into the meat flavours. Chopped onions and cilantro leaves add even more soapy, green herbal, & allium funkiness. Suadero here is the sh_t in a very good way!!! 2) Al Pastor has sweet, moist pork with a touch of "red adobo sauce made from dried chilies (like ancho and guajillo), achiote paste, garlic, and spices." Rodríguez version is closer to the standard version with finesse. Same Tortilla de Maís, onions, cilantro. (However, the al Pastor by Carnitas Michoacán on Victory & Coldwater Canyon in the 1990's with a touch of unorthodox Worcestershire sauce was revelatory.) 3) Puerco en Salsa de Chile Verde: The Tomatillo adds a sweet sour acidity while the cilantro has an underlying green, vegetal funkiness that pairs well with the meaty, sweet fibrous pork butt meat. There is even an undertone of aromatics that vaguely reminds me of Indian curry. Bit of green chiles like Jalapeño has piquancy to stimulate the taste buds and has distinctive bellpepper like aromatics. Slow cooked under low heat keeps the Salsa Verde green retaining the flavors of the original ingredients. Good, solid dish. Accompanied by mushy rice in slightly tomato based Umami broth. Frijoles de Pinto are mashed into a smooth purée with a bit of broth. Good. 4) Taquitos Dorados: 3 standard rolled Tacos stuffed with shredded beef fried in oil. Very bland since the beef didn't seem pre-seasoned with a spice rub. The fried tortilla de Maís was crispy. Really stingy with the Guacamole being a thin smear of light green fluid on the Taquitos along with Crema Mexicana, diced tomatoes, shredded iceberg lettuce, scattering of dry, fake parmesan cheese instead of the classic Queso Cotija with its well fermented, funky richness. Rather disappointing Taquitos Dorados considering Rodríguez has other more enticing, culinarily competent dishes. 1-4a) Horchata: Sweetened rice based drink ramped up with Mexican vainilla, canela/cinnamon made in house. Good drink to quell some of the piquant Salsa Roja, that tasted very close to Jalisco based Tapatillo bottled Salsa, and had a bit of chile heat kick. Service here is basic, well meaning, and adequate. 4 stars

I think it's been years since I've given a one star review, but I hope the owner sees it, because…read morethis was ridiculous and if it were my business, I'd want to know. Three weeks ago, our 3rd graders were tasked with hosting a family brunch after mass at our school. One of my friends with a kid at another school told me that this place donated for her kid's school, and to go in on a Thursday morning to speak to the manager, but to have a Spanish speaker go in. Great. I posted in the class chat and everyone was excited to potentially receive a donation from El Gallo Giro. One of the other moms agreed to go in. She goes and is told yes, it's fine, to bring back a form with the school's information and tax ID. We get a letter from the principal and they drop it back off and we're told to call a week prior and we'll receive one dozen conchas. At this point, everyone's side eying each other bc it's the smallest donation of any place asked and the most effort so far, but okay. She calls a week prior and they say the manager is no longer there and they have to talk to the new manager and call her back. They haven't called her back a couple days later so I call. They tell me they've already given us a donation so they can't give us another one but they have NOT given us a donation, so the woman on the phone says she's going to find out and leaves me on hold and just never comes back. After 14 minutes, I hang up and a Spanish speaking friend calls and has no better luck but she's told maybe the new manager will be there after four or maybe the next day. Why would they have to re-approve a promised donation??? The manager wasn't fired - they moved to a new location. This is strange, but we're still trying to jump through their hoops bc we keep our commitments, right? I'm not able to call that afternoon but I call the next day and I'm told I should have called the next day bc he's not in again. At this point it's Friday and the mass and brunch are Sunday morning. I'm told maybe the manager would be in on Saturday but maybe Sunday morning, which is when the donation is needed. Another mom was going to do the pickup - and another was making cute printed labels for the pastries, so we couldn't wait until Sunday to find out. We ended up giving up and another place, El Mariachi, came through with three different kids of pastries for the brunch, with like 2 boxes of each. A super generous donation. So, a number of school parents are aware of the way the new manager and employee handled this, which is why I figured the owner would want to know, also. One star for horrendous communication, strange business practices, and most importantly, an epic waste of five (!!!) moms' time.
