I want the authentic California-style Mexican food that I grew up eating. Casa Guerrero is where it's at. The burritos are huge, the tacos are fat, and the ingredients are flavorful and delicious. This place puts every other Mexican restaurant in the Carolinas to shame, and I've been to all of them. If you're from the West Coast, and homesick for the Mexican food from back home, make the trip to Magnolia and check this place out. It's worth the drive. The family that owns Casa Guerrero keep the restaurant clean, are always friendly, and make their food with pride.

Our waitresss was a bit testy with our questions instead of helping us. The amount of meat in my tacos was filling and generous but not very good, I'd even say it was over cooked. They are way too proud of their sides. Where most Mexican restaurants come with both rice and beans here you have to pick one or the other. I had the beans my wife had the rice and frankly, the beans were rather ordinary. My wife took one bite of the Spanish rice and left the rest. Everything was extra mild, salsa tasted liked canned tomato and had very little flavor and no spice, I could not even call it mild. There is no ordering Ala cart, so if you want one kind o taco along with your other entre you can forget it. Any variation was shot down and I was not allowed to add any single items to my order like an extra taco. I can only say this is stupid and really bad business. I doubt we will come back, a really pretty room doesn't make up for the really over priced food and the cheapskate nature of the rice beans or add-ons. Even my soda which was filled to the max with ice so about half a can of soda was chincy and I had to ask for a refill with less ice which earned me an eye roll from the waitress.

Both times. I ordered chimichangas at both visits & have yet to be impressed. The last time (just yesterday) the beans tasted odd & were not eaten. We had the same server as the 1st time & both times she was slow in every way. Slow to take our drink orders, slow to get us refills & so slow to get us our check that we had to go searching for someone, anyone, to actually acknowledge that we were trying to leave. There were several servers just hanging out, giggling and pretty much ignoring us. One meal was Sunday before 5pm & yesterday's dinner was before 4pm & there were only 2 other tables of diners. My friend refuses to return food so she just ate what she was given and my leftovers will just go in the garbage. Despite Mexican being her and my husband's favorite food, we'll have to leave the 'lands to find it elsewhere as yesterday's visit was the last for me. Just as my wife was about to eat the last bit of rice, she noticed a white piece that we initially thought was overcooked rice. Upon closer inspection, we realized it was a maggot. This made us both feel sick to our stomachs, and we felt like throwing up. We had already put some of the rice into our tacos. We informed the lady at the counter, but she didn't seem surprised or apologize; she just told us we didn't have to pay for the meal. When we stepped outside, my wife's stomach was upset, and she felt like throwing up, as did I. After getting some air for about five minutes, I decided to go back inside to take pictures. I informed the two ladies inside that I was going to take pictures, but one of the ladies, who hadn't been there initially, told the other lady in Spanish to take the plate away and not let me take a picture. We have never been in a situation where we might have eaten maggots. We will be going to the hospital to get checked
