Stopped in Soap Lake and visited this pub. Typical corner pub with pool table and games. Bar area with a few tables including some high-tops to people watch. Ordered the fried pickles to start. Was expecting chips but got spears. They were hot a fresh, tasted like they might be homemade. For dinner had the fish and chips. I didn't expect to eat all three prices and the fries! "Hats off" to the cosmetic improvements made to the bar by the new owner! Super clean and inviting for the whole family. Last Thursday my wife and I came for ladies night to take advantage of 1/2 price eats & drinks for the ladies as advertised on the events board hanging on the wall. We ordered, ate our appetizers & dinners, drank our drinks, and went to cash out. When the server brought our tab it was a lot more than I had calculated while ordering. When I inquired as to why we were not getting the 1/2 off for my wife's order I was told that the 1/2 off only applied to orders taken AFTER 8pm!, we ate between 6:30 & 7pm. NOWHERE on that events board hanging on the wall did it say anything about having to order AFTER 8pm to get the 1/2 off deal! I pointed this out to the server and she had the nerve to say, "it's on our website." My computer is not attached to my waste and I don't go looking at websites every time I go out to eat. It's posted plainly on your events board with NO time frames or other requirements, other than being a Thursday night. BEWARE Del Reds overcharging "bait & switch" methods. 1st time in since new ownership, inside looks very nice , unfortunately they seemed to have replaced the hardworking staff that existed and took great care of the customers with new staff that completely ignored me till I got up and walked out "bar 30% filled" at most! whats the point of rebuilding a bar if you replace the staff with people who could care less about customer service.. 2 thumbs down! We stopped by with a large crowd Saturday around noon. I called ahead and asked if they could make a dozen people fit. They were nice on the phone and said they would be expecting us. We got there and they were getting tables and chairs ready. And they were busy from the breakfast crowd wrapping up. Tiffany was awesome. She was organized, fast and sweet. She got our drink orders quickly and food orders right after. She is the bomb. The beer was cold. The burgers and nachos were good and the place smelled like maple syrup. It's not fancy. Very much a small town pub, locals hangout type place. Went through Soap Lake a couple Saturdays ago and ordered a takeout cheeseburger as I had to get back to Ellensburg. A couple of guys at the pool tables, a few sitting at the bar, and two ladies working, one young and one a little older. Pretty good service, but... The FOOD WAS AMAZING! Holy smokes! My cheeseburger was so thick and juicy, the tomato was plump, and even the lettuce wasn't bad. And all of this for approximately $11.00 + tax? I'll be back. read more

Young lady working here was helpful in person but a couple hours later she saw my wife and I walking by with our dog and proceeded to yell obscenities at us, specifically our friendly dog. We were polite when eating here and I think she was sloppy drunk when we walked by a few hours later. I didn't acknowledge her but found it to be very rude. On a whim we had to have lunch out and only had a limited time to do it in. All 4 of us went to the Del Red Pub. It's a dark, seedy-looking place in downtown Soap Lake, close to the food bank and tatoo parlor. Caution where you park! If the tatoo staff is out front of their shop, they'll try to convince you or your very minor children to come on in for unicorns or my little pony. Creepy. Anyway, the Pub is dark and smells like, well...a bar, but no smoke. The seating with children is in the back on the usual dancefloor in front of the stage. The tables don't have much but the server was very happy to see us and very attentive and helpful. No tableware, coverings or sugar/salt/tabasco to speak of. She brought everything out for us after our drink orders, which came quickly. The kids ordered off the appetizer menu, #1 chicken strips, #2 hot wings. I got a burger dip, husband got a bacon cheeseburger deluxe. Basket of fries to share and I got onion rings instead of fries. The food was a surprise, albeit regular pub fare it was really good, nice flavor and hot hot hot! Crispy and fresh, I was impressed. My sand was a burger pattie on grilled french bread with au ju and it was great. Husbands burger was juicy and cooked medium and he enjoyed it. Kids gobbled their food and we ate almost all the fries and onion rings because they were crispy and not greasy. The bar patrons were polite and no swearing. Our server was great and made sure my picky kids had everything. Their menu was pricey but understated and compared to the last place (DD, see review), this was great! Thanks, I recommend. read more

I just had the best chicken salad I've had in a while. All fresh ingredients and some of the best tasting and tender grilled chicken. My boyfriend had a burger that had the same quality and cooked to perfection. Service was speedy and friendly. Soap Lake is fast becoming one of our favorite destinations. The history and amenities in this area makes it a great getaway. The Inn at Soap Lake is cozy and convenient to recreation areas and of course Del-Red Pub. New owners at the Del Red but will they last? The place has not changed as far as decor, except they don't have pull tabs any longer. I am hoping it's just a question of waiting for their gambling license. It's doubtful that a small-town tavern can last without pull tabs. The food is 100% better than it was. The signature Del Red burger is a hand-formed double patty burger and it is outstanding. The fries portion could be slightly larger but just order an extra side of fries. The beer is still cold, and always has good flavor on tap. They could add a few more types of beers on tap and lose the hard cider. The service isn't what it used to be. Be prepared to wait for a beer, or order at the bar and be prepared to clear your own table. Customer service isn't the owners strongest trait. Several of us sat for 10-15 minutes with empty beer glasses and dirty plates at our table. But hey, maybe the new owners haven't been in the bar business before. Here's a tip, one inch of beer in my glass and bring me another one, no questions asked. I tend to be thirsty. I hope they can make it. The Del Red is a great winter spot to stop and and is a favorite in the summer. read more

This is a friendly place to stop for a cold brewski and lunch. We weren't really hungry, so we shared chicken strips. So delicious and hit the spot. Our server was attentive and very nice. My only negative comment is that the bar stools are the most uncomfortable I've ever planted my derrière on. No backs and no foot rests so I had to perch on the edge of the stool so I could touch the floor. I'm 5'7", so not short by female standards. Ok we came for a play at the Masquers across the street so we ran across the street to eat. Walked in its a dive but I had heard that. We sat down was greeted by a nice lady who asked if we wanted to play bingo. Then another lady walked up and immediately said in a VERY rude voice "kids have to sit over there" no can I see your i.d. or anything very presumptuous and very rude. I then proceeded to pull out my i.d. already VERY irritated by the rude demeanor of this lady. I'm sorry I have managed a bar and owned a bar if I EVER in my life witnessed my employee acting as rude as she did I would fire her. Having ran a bar 20 miles down the road and getting some of their same patrons I now understand why everyone had nothing good to say about this place. I will say that I follow their Facebook and saw bare hands handling already cooked primerib I should've known that this place was not a place for me. The food was mediocre. Pretty sure there wasn't any peppermint schnapps in my peppermint patty but hey what could I expect. The Del Red pub seems like a Soap Lake institution. I stopped in here to get a hot meal while camping in the Grand Coulee, and the service was friendly and the food was good. The bartender & servers knew most of the customers' names so that added to the small-town atmosphere. It's not a gourmet restaurant, it's a pub, and a darn tootin' good one. read more

I do prefer the Del-Red. I know about everyone that works there the owners are my grandma and her husband. The waitresses are nice and the food is delicious. A useful tip is kids aren't aloud in the restaurant past 8pm and not aloud in the bar side. read more

We love the karaoke nights here, Bob always does a great job. The food is good (for bar food) and prices are right.

Loved the food (the chef had to run to the store to get fresh mushrooms), and the atmospere. Very nice and helpful staff.

The decor is seedy bar but we did have a good meal and then the Kareoke started and it was entertaining and fun. I would say the food is good and the entertainment that night was a bonus.
