The food itself seems straightforward and pretty simple, but each dish had its own flavor which I think is pretty hard to do and each was so satisfyingly delicious. I think I would've bn satisfied with just the menudo and the half order of nachos, but didn't know it at the time we ordered so we went on and got the El Faro burger, my friend ordered the cheese enchiladas and of course we got the chile Christmas on the side. Fantastic! And a tremendous value. We were quite shocked that our entire meal, including 2 sodas came to less that $40, such that we left double that bc these small businesses are such treasures and we want such places to remain in business. Our service was outstanding-food came out quickly and our server quickly and easily was able to accommodate some minor modifications to our dishes. We started our dinner by sharing the guacamole salad, chips, salsa verde, and salsa rojo. The guacamole was rich, fresh, and creamy, and the chips were warm, crispy, with the right amount of salt. The salsa verde was delicious; the salsa rojo was OK. I got the sample platter for my main dish; I particularly liked the brisket taco. I highly recommend going to Cocina Azul if you are in Albuquerque!
